If You Want Destruction, I'll Grant It
The moment I opened my eyes inside the body of the Demon King who could never be defeated, I chose a different path from the one written in the scenario.
I wanted peace.
I suppressed the overwhelming power that could have burned the continent to ash, reached out to the heroes instead of crushing them, and even swallowed my pride to extend a hand toward the very races that had once hunted my kind. I laughed with them. I bled with them. I built a fragile dream of coexistence on the edge of a blade.
And the price for that foolish dream was betrayal.
They drove a holy sword through my back while I slept. They laughed as they tore away everything I had protected. The allies I had trusted, the woman I had loved—they all looked down at me with eyes full of relief and greed as my blood soaked the throne room floor.
In that final moment, as the light faded from my eyes, I finally understood.
This world did not want a peaceful Demon King.
It wanted a monster.
So I will give them one.
If you desire ruin, I will become the apocalypse you feared. If you crave despair, I will drown this continent in it. The mask of benevolence is gone. The chains I placed on myself are shattered.
The betrayed Demon King no longer hides his power.
Now, the age of vengeance begins.
