Welcome to My Poison Killing Domain
The Two Flowers of Blue and Red.
Im Mi-ryeong and Im Min — the byname by which Hubei hailed its two beautiful swordswomen.
Among beauties, it is only natural that when one is lovely, the other should look plain beside her; yet the Two Flowers of Blue and Red set each other off, each beauty shining the brighter for her rival. And so the martial artists of the Murim who set their sights on the pair of lovely swordswomen grew more numerous by the day.
Saekma was no exception.
Shall I savor the sight of that expressionless wench burning hot beneath the aphrodisiac? No... for once, enjoying her raw and unguarded reactions might not be so bad!
Im Mi-ryeong had no idea Saekma was lying in wait for his chance. That she, fallen alone from her companion's side, would be carried off was only a matter of time.
Kheheh!
Saekma wore a lecherous, eye-crinkling smirk as he savored the sight of the bound Im Mi-ryeong glaring up at him in fury.
"Gahhh!!! Even from you, Author Hopil — th-this is unforgivable! How could you! How dare you hand Dang Jeong's woman over to Saekma! It shall not be!"
The hand with which Scholar Hwang gripped his book trembled violently. Dang Jeong's lawful wife was Du Eung-hyang — but Scholar Hwang was not a man who believed Dang Jeong's wives must number but one.
He had already been agonizing in his heart over whether Dang Jeong's second should be the Greatest Beauty of Sichuan or one of the Two Flowers of Blue and Red — and now she stood in peril of being ravished by Saekma?
If the next page were to open upon the very scene he dreaded, Scholar Hwang resolved, he would resort to every means available to send a letter of protest to Author Hopil.
"My lady! Are you unharmed?!"
"Hooooooh. A mercy!"
Scholar Hwang let out a deep sigh of relief. At the moment of crisis, Im Mi-ryeong had fortunately been rescued by Dang Jeong, who had come chasing after her.
"Young hero Dang Jeong... I— it is all because of me..."
Dang Jeong had not saved Im Mi-ryeong unscathed. He had thrown his body into that desperate moment to save her — only for Saekma's poison to take hold of Dang Jeong himself.
"It is nothing."
"Hahaha! Dang Jeong! This time, at last, it is over! I have brewed an aphrodisiac that will work even on you. Unless it is neutralized, your blood vessels will burst and you will die — so if you wish to keep your life, hand over that woman and be gone! Who can say, though! Ravishing some woman who happens past might just save your life! Kahahahaha!"
"I have no intention of fleeing."
"What!"
"It is self-evident that the woman before my eyes will shed tears. I would sooner lose my life than turn my face from villainy!"
"My hero! Do not!"
"You wretch! To the very end—"
"As expected of Dang Jeong! Is this not what a true chivalrous hero means — a man such as he! The resolve to cast his life away like a worn straw sandal rather than abandon chivalry! But how is he to surmount this predicament?!"
Scholar Hwang could not tear his eyes from Dang Jeong's peril.
"Brother Dang Jeong!"
Fortunately, the crisis was broken by Im Min and the other warriors who arrived belatedly in pursuit.
"Dang Jeong! Today is the last day I shall ever have to look upon your face. After enduring and enduring, the hour has come when merely embracing a woman will no longer neutralize the poison! Tonight, I shall raise a toast to your death!"
Certain he had seen the last of that tiresome entanglement, Saekma vanished — promising himself a next time with the Two Flowers of Blue and Red.
Dang Jeong's condition, poisoned by the aphrodisiac, was grave.
"No antidote, and merely embracing a woman will serve no longer. What in the world is he to do? No — wait. Could it be?"
There was, in the end, only one way to cure the aphrodisiac's poison. And at Dang Jeong's side, at this very moment, stood two women. Burning with anticipation, Scholar Hwang turned the page.
"I will do it."
"Sister? What do you mean?"
"Saekma's poison can be cured through intercourse. No ordinary woman could neutralize it — but a woman who bears the yin energy of a virgin guardian spirit, with internal energy deep besides, would be able to receive the young hero Dang Jeong's yang energy. And so, if it is I, I can surely cure him."
"Then—! If that is how it is, let me do it! It was because of me that you fell into danger, Sister!"
"No. He was poisoned with the aphrodisiac while protecting me. It is only right that I do it."
"Sister! I say it again — I am sorry for earlier! But I will never yield Brother Dang Jeong to you!"
Im Mi-ryeong and Im Min — which of them would share Dang Jeong's bed? The two stood locked in a tense standoff.
"Dang Jeong, you sinful wretch! A woman's chastity, more precious to her than life itself! And two woman warriors at odds over offering their first time to one and the same man!!!"
A scene in which women vied with one another to offer the thing most precious to a woman unto the protagonist. Scholar Hwang could not help the smile that stole onto his lips before he knew it.
"There is no time. Come with me."
"Sister, what—?"
"I will yield you the first three moves."
Settle it in a duel. Im Mi-ryeong's logic was simple.
"You have always been so arrogant, Sister. If you think I have always stood beneath you, you are sorely mistaken."
"You have always slyly snatched whatever you wanted. But this time, I will never allow it."
That the two women were cousins and martial sisters did not mean theirs was a bond of unbroken harmony.
Each beauty possessed strengths the other lacked — and without either quite realizing it, this had bred inferiority and jealousy between them.
Only once they came to stand opposed over a single man did they finally spit out the feelings they had harbored toward each other.
"Martial sisters as close as kin, quarreling over a single man!! How does Author Hopil even conceive of such things! Truly, truly!! It is maddeningly entertaining!!!"
The battle between the two women was ferocious. At first they fought like cats, striking and grappling with bare hands, seeking only to subdue — but once the struggle deadlocked, it soon reached the very brink of drawn weapons.
At this rate, they might yet spill each other's blood — all for the sake of offering their chastity to one man.
"There is no need for the dearest of martial sisters to fight over the likes of me. Ugh...…"
In the end, it was Dang Jeong — who had barely managed to rise — who stopped their fight.
"Brother Dang Jeong!"
"Big Brother!"
Dang Jeong, gasping for breath, cried that he would rather die himself.
The man they loved stood at death's door — and with him crying out that he would sooner die, any further fighting was meaningless.
"Sister, let us both sleep with Brother Dang Jeong."
"Yes. Alone, I may not be able to neutralize the poison."
The two women at last made their decision.
"Brother Dang Jeong. Cover your eyes with this blindfold."
"Both of you — what is the meaning of this?"
"We could not bear it if you had to choose between the two of us, Big Brother. So wear the blindfold, and choose."
The blue flower and the red flower had made themselves ready to be broken beautifully, for the Dang Jeong they loved.
After long deliberation, Dang Jeong, blindfolded, clutched a flower in each hand.
The cure and the deflowering began in pain; pain turned to passion, passion to pleasure, and pleasure, at the last, to reconciliation and love.
Dang Jeong, turned beast by the aphrodisiac, could not contain himself amid that field of flowers.
"Ahem — to think they would receive him so utterly, without reserve — this Dang Jeong, rendered thoughtless and rough by the aphrodisiac. Now then, where was I... my tissue...?"
Scholar Hwang, too, could not contain himself.
"Saekma has appeared!"
Perhaps it was because he had been poisoned by the very toxin Saekma had brewed with his own hands to destroy his nemesis. The deed was done and the poison neutralized — yet for some reason, Dang Jeong did not recover his senses for several days.
"Big Brother will not be getting up for a while."
"Sister! Let us chase him down, just the two of us!"
So that no more victims might fall, the Two Flowers of Blue and Red set off after Saekma, just the two of them.
Blissfully unaware that what Saekma feared was Dang Jeong — not two swordswomen so newly come into the Jianghu.
Kheheheh! Now, at last, I shall get to pluck both flowers!
Smacking his lips at the two swordswomen pursuing him, Saekma shouted.
"You will never pluck us! We are already the flowers of the young hero Dang Jeong!"
"What did you say? Don't tell me — Dang Jeong! You have plucked the flowers I had marked for myself again!"
"Again?"
"Even grinding that Dang Jeong to a pulp and drinking him down would not quench my rage!!! After I trample and ravish the likes of you, I will go take that wretch's head! I will tear him limb from limb!"
An enraged Saekma was terrifyingly strong. The Two Flowers met him with all they had — but even their combined sword art was no match for a fiend who had slain countless martial artists and ravished countless women.
"S-Sister!"
"Hold on! If we fall, Big Brother is in danger!"
The two swordswomen gave their all for love — but before the wrath of a fiend robbed of every woman he had coveted by Dang Jeong, they were hopelessly outmatched.
"It cannot be! I cannot watch the women who gave their first time to Dang Jeong fall before Saekma!"
At this rate, the Two Flowers of Blue and Red would be ravished by Saekma. A hopeless situation. His heart tight, Scholar Hwang swallowed hard and turned the page.
And a single flying dagger came hurtling at Saekma.
A mere flying dagger... Khek! What—?!
The instant he batted it aside, a second dagger punched through Saekma's shoulder.
"Moonshadow Needles. The hidden weapon art of the Tang Clan — or so I am told."
"Dang Jeong!"
"That is right. I have returned, Saekma."
"As expected — a true chivalrous hero appears at his woman's hour of peril!"
Unable to contain his excitement, Scholar Hwang seized Volume 3 of Dangga Pungun and shook it.
"Dang Jeong...! But how!!! Your so-called life-preserving art was broken long ago! Today, at last, I shall take your head!"
The Poison Killing Domain could be thwarted by simply keeping one's distance.
Saekma widened the gap, calmly preparing to throttle the life from Dang Jeong. But this time was different.
The moment Dang Jeong took a single step, the aura of death drew near.
"No! The Poison Killing Domain moves? How?!"
"Poison, in skilled hands, becomes an elixir."
Dang Jeong laughed in triumph at Saekma.
Saekma had used a specially compounded aphrodisiac to poison Dang Jeong, who had mastered the poison arts.
Circulating the tremendous yang energy the aphrodisiac had spawned together with the two women's yin energy, Dang Jeong had raised his realm.
"Bedding the two women raised his cultivation! Saekma has dug his own grave!"
To grow stronger through his enemy's own trap! Scholar Hwang cheered aloud.
"Th-that is impossible! Are you saying I helped raise your cultivation?!"
Dang Jeong strode toward the slack-jawed Saekma with a victor's steps.
Like the fangs of a venomous spider that kills even the mightiest foe with a single bite, Dang Jeong raised one hand and opened his mouth.
Scholar Hwang could already see, perfectly, the line Dang Jeong was about to roar.
The line that set the members of the Tea Book Club — the devoted readers of Dangga Pungun — ablaze with fervor.
"Welcome. To my Poison Killing Domain."
"Welcome! To my Poison! Killing! Domain!"
"Welcome! To my Poison Killing Domain! Waaaargh!"
"Haha. It seems my young brother has his eyes on the very same page."
Hearing his younger brother's voice from beyond the room, Scholar Hwang smiled quietly.
This time, at last, it would end. Dang Jeong drove Saekma to the very brink. Would Saekma's villainy meet its end this day?
At the very moment Dang Jeong moved to sever Saekma's life-thread—
"This time, at last, it ends... Urk! This is... demonic qi?"
Black energy erupted from Saekma's body.
"Noooooo! To think you would drive me to unleash my demonic qi!"
"Saekma! You were a Demonic Cultist all along!"
"Dang Jeong! Next time, I swear I will tear you apart!"
Wounds and all, Saekma vanished — casting one last look at the nemesis he had finally acknowledged.
Saekma had fled — but Dang Jeong had a confession to make to the two women.
"There is something I must say. There are women I hold in my heart."
Dang Jeong knelt before the two women. He had taken their first times. Yet he already had two beloveds of his own. Confessing as much, he could not lift his head for shame.
Seeing him thus, the two women were struck dumb. If he had a beloved, they might have to give him up. And yet something about his words was strange.
Not a woman — women.
"Big Brother. Is there room in your heart for two more, but none for us?"
"Brother Dang Jeong! You are a grown man now — why is your heart so narrow?"
"I... I..."
"Big Brother. One day you will cast down Saekma and stand as a great pillar of the Murim. And to raise that pillar, do you not need the aid of many more women?"
"Just so! From time immemorial, a hero has needed the support of many women behind him!"
It was a world where a man of ability kept many wives. Some men, capable as they were, remained devoted to a single woman out of love — but since when was Dang Jeong a man whose story would end with only one?
"That is..."
"Brother Dang Jeong. Then were you thinking of casting us aside?"
"I thought wrongly. Forgive me."
Under the two women's relentless offensive, Dang Jeong at last surrendered.
"Big Brother. This time, will you hold us with a clear head?"
"Brother Dang Jeong! Last time there was no helping it — but tonight, dress yourself properly and hold us as we deserve."
And so the three became lovers — and once more, in bed, they shared their reconciliation and love.
"Ahem. To think there would be another scene of shared bedding. Author Hopil is a most considerate man."
So absorbed did Scholar Hwang become that he loosened the sash at his waist as he read — for the two women's combined arts excelled not only in the sword, but in the bedchamber as well.
"Big Brother. The two of us were struck by Saekma's demonic qi — we must recuperate at our sect."
"Brother Dang Jeong. We will stop by the Murim Alliance, report the appearance of a Demonic Cultist, and wait for you, our hero."
"Big Brother. If the wedding is too great a burden, I do not mind holding it together with my cousin."
"That is right, Sister! With the Greatest Beauty of Sichuan and the Greatest Gisaeng of Hubei as our rivals, we two must join forces!"
"Haha. I will slay Saekma without fail — and then I will come for you all."
"Again! Again! Why must that Dang Jeong part from every woman he meets!"
He understood the circumstances — but oh, how it ached. Why not set aside the pursuit of Saekma for a time and wait for the Two Flowers of Blue and Red to recover? What harm could possibly come of it?
Of course, had he done so, Dangga Pungun would have ended at Volume 1 — and there would never have been a meeting with Du Eung-hyang, Scholar Hwang's favorite of all.
Dang Jeong's unbending devotion to chivalry was part of his charm — but it left Scholar Hwang endlessly wistful.
In the end, Scholar Hwang set his regret aside and turned to the next page.
"A preview of the next volume?"
Word that Saekma is a Demonic Cultist brings warriors dispatched from the Murim Alliance.
Among them is a beauty renowned throughout the Alliance as a peerless female master.
Tall and voluptuous, with beauty to match — yet her exalted seniority has made her imperious in manner.
At first the female master scorns Dang Jeong, a newcomer to the Jianghu — but little by little, she comes to acknowledge his skill.
Then, by Saekma's scheme, the two of them find themselves caught in a mechanism-trap: "a room from which one cannot emerge without having intercourse."
What choice will the two of them make?
Reading the next-volume preview, parched by a thirst that no amount of drinking could slake, Scholar Hwang could only cry out the same words as ever.
"Neeeext vooolume!"
