Chapter 195: Sitri (11)
Chapter 195: Sitri (11)
In the kitchen, a woman with purple hair cascading down to her waist stood with her back to the room.
Sitri was currently in the midst of absorbing and adapting to Earth's culture, and she had taken it upon herself to handle the simple household chores. She approached everything with an eager-to-learn attitude, and Han Shin knew she had been helping with breakfast preparations for a few days now.
However, this was the first time he had seen her preparing it all on her own. What truly caught Han Shin’s eye, though, was the outfit she was wearing.
It was a very modest maid uniform—black fabric decorated with white embroidery. With long sleeves that covered her wrists and a long skirt that reached down to her ankles, topped with a white apron, it was the style worn by British maids in the late 19th century.
Han Shin was stunned to see Sitri, who had been wearing ordinary clothes until yesterday, preparing breakfast in such an outfit.
Sensing his presence, Sitri immediately bowed her head the moment she saw him.
“Ah, Master Han Shin. You’re awake?”
She greeted him with a bright smile as she turned around. She was in the middle of making soup. She had been stirring the pot with a ladle, but she set it aside the moment she saw him to offer her greeting.
“Ah… yeah. Good morning.”
Han Shin responded a beat late, still a bit dazed. They had already agreed to speak comfortably with one another.
Sitri gave a shy smile at his reaction.
Her decision to wear this outfit was something she had discussed with Kang Yujin. Sitri had personally refused to be placed on equal footing with Kang Yujin, Grace, and Laysia. She felt she wasn't yet qualified and intended to be a servant who lived for Han Shin’s sake.
“But why are you wearing those clothes?”
Han Shin felt uneasy seeing Sitri wearing a maid uniform, as if she intended to live like a servant.
I suppose I haven't been paying enough attention to her…
Han Shin had no desire to boss anyone around, and he didn't want to treat Sitri this way, so he felt quite uncomfortable.
Seeing his reaction, Sitri’s expression turned serious as she asked him a question in return.
“Does it… not look good on me, Master Han Shin?”
When Sitri asked with slightly misty eyes, looking anxious, Han Shin worried he had said the wrong thing.
“No, no. It looks great on you.”
With Sitri’s beauty and figure, there wasn't an outfit in the world that wouldn't look good on her, but she suited the maid uniform exceptionally well.
The Victorian-style maid uniform she wore was modest and plain, with no skin showing at all. Yet, despite the lack of exposure, her voluptuous figure caused the chest of the dress to swell prominently, while her slender waist and wide, shapely hips created a harmony that gave Han Shin a strange sensation.
It was clearly a modest, proper outfit, yet it felt strangely alluring and erotic.
Sitri usually wore a sharp, cool, and intellectual expression, which complemented the neat maid uniform perfectly. Combined with the curves of her captivating body that couldn't be hidden and the natural sensuality she possessed as a succubus, she was subtly stimulating Han Shin’s senses.
He had told her it looked good out of flustered politeness, but he truly meant it, which was why he had been able to answer so quickly.
When Han Shin said it suited her, Sitri lifted her left hand, curling her index finger slightly against her nose in a shy, delighted gesture.
“I’m so glad you think so. I was very worried you might not like it.”
That was a completely unnecessary worry…
Thinking her concern was absurd, Han Shin’s mouth hung open slightly at the sight of her.
A maid radiating a faint sensuality from beneath a modest outfit, looking as happy as a girl in the throes of her first love. It struck a chord in Han Shin’s heart, and his affection for her grew even deeper at the sight of her charm.
Yes! It’s a success!
Sitri was overjoyed by Han Shin’s reaction.
This maid uniform was something she had carefully chosen and crafted herself after much deliberation. In short, this appearance was a calculated move to appeal to Han Shin in her own way.
She had thought long and hard about how to show her charm without offending the three women who had become Han Shin’s before her—Kang Yujin, Grace, and Laysia.
While her intention to live as a servant was sincere, she had already anticipated that Han Shin wouldn't like the idea.
After the group returned from Shanghai, Sitri had learned more about Han Shin while living with him. Kang Yujin’s help had been significant; Sitri had heard all about what kind of person Han Shin was from the woman who had lived with him since their orphanage days.
Through her own observations, she realized that although Han Shin possessed the power to reign over others, he had no such greed. She also saw that he didn't hesitate to help others and would never treat her like a lowly subordinate or abandon her.
Therefore, she predicted that if she said she would live as a maid, he would feel a sense of rejection and try to dissuade her—and she was right.
“Master Han Shin.”
“Yes?”
Calling his name with a serious expression, Sitri spoke the words she had prepared.
“I’m doing this because I want to be with you in my own way. Won't you please allow it? It would actually feel unfair to me to be treated the same as the other ladies.”
“Hmm…”
Han Shin understood the intent behind her words. Even if he had accepted her, she was a being who had been close to evil and an enemy to Grace and Laysia. Han Shin didn't want to discriminate against her just because she was a demon, but she was arguing that treating her the same as the others would be a form of discrimination against Yujin, Grace, and Laysia.
Han Shin had no proper rebuttal. From the perspective of the other three, they might indeed feel that way.
“I truly wish to live with you for a long time, Master Han Shin. I believe going through this process is the right thing to do. Won't you please give me your permission?”
Han Shin realized Sitri was acting with her own set of principles, and he nodded, deciding to respect her choice.
“Alright. I think you have a point, Sitri. Do as you wish, but if anything is difficult, tell me immediately.”
“Yes!”
Once Han Shin gave his permission, Sitri nodded with a bright smile.
A short while later, the other women came out for breakfast. They weren't flustered by Sitri’s appearance at all, accepting it and acting as if it were perfectly natural.
So they already coordinated this beforehand.
Han Shin realized belatedly that Sitri had already told Yujin, Grace, and Laysia that she would live this way before showing herself to him.
It might be better if I don't interfere.
Recognizing that this was a matter for the women to settle among themselves, Han Shin decided to just watch for the time being. He wasn't particularly worried; they had already reached an agreement, and the atmosphere during the meal was friendly, with no hint of hostility.
*
The demons of Nippur had experienced a seismic shift.
The cause, of course, was Sitri’s disappearance. It quickly became known that an accident had occurred while Sitri was leading Asmodeus’s demons toward Earth through a rift in the Dimensional Barrier that appeared during the invasion of London.
It was impossible to keep it a secret. Sitri was the leader of Asmodeus’s demons, and everyone acknowledged her as the strongest among them. Her presence was so immense that even if they tried to hide her absence, other demons would have grown suspicious immediately.
The truth came to light because of a power struggle that erupted among Asmodeus’s demons.
No matter how united or strong their sense of kinship was, Asmodeus’s demons were not entirely devoid of greed for power. A major reason they had shown such unity in the past was Sitri’s peerless strength and her exceptional leadership. Now that she was presumed dead, the demons who had been hiding their ambitions began gathering forces to seize power.
In the process, the news reached demons serving other Evil Gods, causing the influence of Asmodeus’s faction to shrink significantly.
Their strength had originally been in group combat centered around Sitri, but the internal power struggle weakened that advantage. Furthermore, since no new boss emerged immediately to lead them, the decline was inevitable.
During this turmoil, some of Asmodeus’s demons who lost out in the power struggle defected to other factions, leading to a chaotic series of realignments.
