Chapter 113: Moving (2)
Chapter 113: Moving (2)
As promised, Kang Yujin spent a wonderful time with Han Shin.
Grace and Laysia, recognizing that Yujin had made quite a sacrifice over the past three days, accepted this without a word of complaint.
Yujin agonized over how to spend her time with Han Shin, but given their current situation, her options were limited. Since keeping Han Shin’s identity a secret was the top priority, they were restricted to things they could do at home.
The problem was that their current home—the one they hadn't moved out of yet—was too cramped for four people to live in.
Out of consideration for Yujin, Grace and Laysia decided to be reverse-summoned and stay in the Sanctuary for a while. Thanks to them, Yujin was able to enjoy some long-awaited time alone with Han Shin.
It felt strange to Yujin. Unlike before, when Han Shin was injured and couldn't live a normal life, he was now healthy and by her side.
In the past, they had lived together as "noona" and "dongsaeng," with Yujin unable to reveal her feelings, satisfied just to be near him. But now, she had confessed her love, and she knew how he felt as well. Being alone in the house as a couple made the moment feel truly special.
Even simple activities they had always done felt different now that it was just the two of them.
They cooked and ate together, and Han Shin held Yujin from behind as they watched movies. Naturally, it was only to be expected that they shared passionate moments whenever the mood was right.
Though they only had one day to themselves, Yujin’s satisfaction was immense. It was enough to wash away the frustration of having gone to Japan with him for three days without being able to share a proper conversation.
Yujin wanted to spend more time like this, but she decided not to be greedy. It was Yujin, after all, who had resolved to maintain a good relationship with Grace and Laysia.
This behavior—aimed at solidifying her position as Han Shin’s primary partner—was viewed positively by Grace and Laysia as well.
After Yujin finished her "vacation," she spent the next day with Grace and Laysia choosing their new home.
She had looked into it briefly before, but since they had just finished a grueling hunting schedule in Japan, they needed some rest. She planned to use that downtime to complete the move.
“I think a big kitchen would be best for starters.”
“I agree. The bigger, the better.”
The three of them shared a common sentiment: their current house was so small it felt suffocating. Moreover, Grace and Laysia were active by nature and hated feeling cramped. One only had to look at the Sanctuary they received from Tiamat to see their preferences.
Yujin looked for a house that was as large as possible, specifically searching for properties in the outskirts. She needed to avoid places that attracted too much public attention.
Eventually, she found a listing for a property on the outskirts of Sejong City that had been built to serve as a villa. Yujin immediately prepared to head out.
Since she was the only one who could move about freely, she had no choice but to go and inspect the house alone.
Upon arriving, Yujin found the house to be well-maintained. Although there were other houses nearby, the area felt secluded and quiet, making it a perfect place to move.
Yujin signed the contract on the spot, and the moving process proceeded like clockwork.
They moved the very next day. Once again, Han Shin had to act the part of a sick man who couldn't walk.
Sitting in his slightly dusty wheelchair, Han Shin avoided contact with the moving company employees as much as possible, moving to the new house with Yujin’s assistance.
Since it was the small house where Han Shin and Yujin had lived for a long time, they didn't have many belongings, and the move didn't take long.
Once the movers left and Han Shin was alone with Yujin, he immediately stood up from the wheelchair and stretched his limbs.
“Ugh...!”
After contracting with Tiamat, Han Shin possessed a body healthier than anyone else's. Sitting still in that wheelchair was pure torture.
“Shin-a? Do you like it?”
“Yeah. It’s great.”
He might have been attached to their old home, but he preferred a spacious house with better facilities. The villa they had secured in Nepal was already better than their Korean home, so in a way, Han Shin had already begun to feel the inconveniences of their previous residence. He was glad they had moved.
He immediately summoned Grace and Laysia to show them their new home.
“What do you think?”
“It’s nice.”
“I agree. I like how spacious it is.”
“Then I’ll show you to your rooms.”
Yujin beamed with a bright smile, and Laysia and Grace responded with gentle, happy expressions. Since the three of them had chosen the house together, it held even more meaning.
Unlike the previous house, they now had their own private spaces, and the openness of the villa made them feel refreshed.
The new house was a two-story villa with four rooms on the ground floor, allowing everyone to stay on the same level. This was actually a detail Yujin had paid attention to when looking for the house. Since no one wanted to be far from Han Shin, they all disliked the idea of going up to the second floor, so she had intentionally sought out a larger layout.
Watching the three of them react with such joy, Han Shin had one lingering concern.
‘Moving into such a large house so suddenly might look suspicious... but surely no one is tracking us, right?’
It was something he had worried about, but since Yujin had used a broker to sign the contract under a different name, he figured they would be fine unless someone was obsessively hunting them down.
Han Shin shook his head to clear his anxious thoughts. Meanwhile, Yujin went outside to pick up the Chinese food delivery.
“Shin-a! Let’s have our housewarming meal!”
“Got it.”
The four of them gathered in the living room, sharing a meal in a warm, friendly atmosphere as they spent their first night in their new home.
★ ★ ★
The planet Nippur was fragmenting and falling into ruin.
Like a piece of fruit riddled with worms, chunks of the earth had been breaking away for a long time, leaving the planet unable to maintain a perfect spherical shape.
Following a war with the Benevolent Gods, the Evil Gods had ultimately been trapped on this planet. Having exhausted much of their power and sustained significant injuries, the Evil Gods were in no condition to escape this place.
Moreover, in a situation where the Evil Gods were constantly watching for a chance to devour one another, none were willing to take the lead and risk themselves.
Thus, the Evil Gods entered into an agreement to recover their strength and rest together, while using their subordinates to break through the dimensional prison that confined them.
The forces following the Evil Gods were primarily composed of demons. They were exactly the kind of demons that humans and other intelligent beings imagined. They were the ones who worshipped the Evil Gods and followed their direct commands—the faithful hands and feet, the swords and shields of their masters.
The demons were also divided into factions based on the Evil God they served, but for now, they had set aside their conflicts and formed an alliance. These were purely evil beings who found joy in the suffering and slaughter of intelligent life.
Being trapped in Nippur with nothing to do was driving them mad. Even without the orders of the Evil Gods, the demons themselves would have been desperate to escape.
Splitting pieces of the planet Nippur to create dungeons and sending them to Earth was a tedious task. However, as beings who did not age, the demons were well-accustomed to the passage of time.
For over thirty years, they had consistently used Earth’s coordinates to create and transmit dungeons, slowly creating and widening a rift.
The dungeons were equipped with devices that allowed the demons to receive information. Even if a dungeon was destroyed, a simple record of the events that occurred inside would be transmitted back.
In gaming terms, it was a type of log. Through these logs, the demons researched how to make the dungeons more difficult to clear, aiming to trigger the Dimension Bombs.
A recent and revolutionary improvement they had made was the Reinforcement Portals that were currently causing trouble on Earth. It was a countermeasure developed after they realized that Awakeners were using external mana to determine a dungeon’s rank and difficulty to clear them efficiently.
For the demons, this had been a masterstroke.
The problem was that it wasn't working as effectively as they had hoped. According to the incoming data, the dungeons sent through Reinforcement Portals were dealing less damage to the Awakeners than expected. Furthermore, too few dungeons were failing to be cleared, meaning the Dimension Bombs were not detonating.
A demon with large goat horns and crimson skin sat on a throne made of rock, tapping a crystal ball with sharp-clawed fingers and muttering to himself.
The demon was currently reviewing the logs of how the recent Reinforcement Portals on Earth had been cleared.
"This... are these the ones following those hypocrites?"
At first, he wasn't sure what he was looking at, but after discovering the records of Laysia, the demon realized the truth. He decided that this was information he needed to share with the others.
