The Runaway Fiancée
Yuri Grace ran away from home and went straight to her father, the Duke. Upon realizing that she had taken another step in power, he stared at her with wide, astonished eyes, as if demanding to know what had happened. Yuri, however, ignored that look entirely and spoke her mind.
“Father.”
“Yes, what is it?”
“Did you really send Kyle a letter breaking our engagement without saying a single word to me?”
“…That was only for your own good.”
“For my own good? You arranged the engagement without ever asking my opinion, and now you’re breaking it off the same way, without asking again?”
Yuri frowned slightly as she gazed at the Duke. Of course, his head was no doubt filled with complex, political schemes far beyond anything she could imagine. Both the engagement and its dissolution were probably part of those plans. Even so—she refused to remain a puppet that moved only at his command forever.
“Then I suppose I may act without a word for Your Grace’s sake as well.”
“What? Yuri, what are you—”
“I’ll be taking my leave, Your Grace.”
Having said everything she needed to say, Yuri turned and walked out of the Duke’s office. She then stacked a wall of ice in front of the door, completely sealing the entrance. It was a declaration. A protest sent to the Duke who cherished his daughter as dearly as his wife. After announcing that she would live her own life from now on, Yuri left the castle entirely and climbed into the waiting carriage without hesitation.
“Let’s go.”
“Did you say your goodbyes?”
“Yes. I did.”
Kyle, waiting inside the carriage, tilted his head when he noticed Yuri carried no luggage at all. She had said she would greet the Duke and pack her things—yet here she was with nothing. That question, however, vanished the moment Yuri urged him forward.
“What are you waiting for? Aren’t we leaving?”
“…Right. Of course. Let’s move.”
Watching himself wilt at a single word from her, Kyle had a sudden premonition that his future would not be all that different from the Duke’s.
Count Meyer was writing documents in his study when he stretched to ease his stiff shoulders and took a short break. Standing up to loosen his muscles, he stared absently out the window, lost in thought.
I wonder if Kyle’s doing all right…
His son, suddenly rejected by his fiancée. He couldn’t even imagine what the boy might have done to deserve it. Days had passed since Kyle left for the Duke’s territory to resolve the matter, yet not a single message had arrived. He prayed the boy hadn’t caused any trouble. He had known since childhood that Kyle was a genius, but he never expected him to reach Master rank so quickly. If only he had built a family first, enjoyed a modest, loving life, and then attained such power—he might have grown into a man who understood the value of home and simple happiness. Instead, he had become a Master far too soon. Gaining such overwhelming strength before he had fully matured mentally made the Count worry that his son might wield it recklessly.
Just don’t cause any accidents. Please, no accidents…
Accidents of a different sort would have been fine. Getting the Duke’s daughter pregnant, for example. But when a Master caused trouble, it was never on such a small scale. Killing a noble by mistake, impregnating a hundred academy students, insulting the imperial family and deciding to seize the throne for himself—those were the kinds of disasters Masters tended to create.
Uuuuung—!
“…It’s the Duke.”
Count Meyer noticed the emergency communication orb in his office ringing wildly and checked the caller. It was coming from the Grace Duchy, where Kyle had gone. Perhaps his son, having just arrived, was contacting him. With a puzzled tilt of his head, the Count accepted the call—only to freeze at the sight of the Duke’s face, which kept flushing from red to purple with rage.
“Count Meyer. Are you aware that your son has come to my territory?”
“Your son has kidnapped my daughter.”
“Your. Son. Has. Kidnapped. My. Daughter. Is that difficult to understand?”
“…Your Grace? What is the matter—”
“Yes, I knew he headed there after receiving the breakup letter some time ago… Did Kyle cause some sort of accident?”
The Count stared at the Duke through the orb as if he had misheard. But the Duke repeated the same words with unmistakable clarity.
“…Ha, haha. Your Grace’s sense of humor is rather—”
When the Count tried to laugh it off as a joke, the Duke released a wave of killing intent. The Count had survived several wars himself and did not flinch, but he immediately understood the Duke was deadly serious.
Grabbing his forehead with a sigh, Count Meyer bowed his head carefully toward the furious Duke.
“…I apologize, Your Grace. I will handle this immediately.”
“Good. That is what you should do. That is exactly what must be done.”
The communication cut off with a sharp click. Count Meyer let out a deep, exhausted sigh. His son had caused an incident. And not just any incident—a catastrophic one.
“…Is that really all right?”
“Yes. It’s a little tight across the chest, though.”
“I asked for the largest size they had.”
Yuri had left home without packing a single thing. She had truly come with nothing but the clothes on her back. Of course, a 4-star mage capable of Double Casting was worth a king’s ransom even without luggage. The problem was that without someone who recognized that value, even a diamond was no different from a shiny rock on the roadside.
She couldn’t keep wearing those frilly dresses from the ducal house forever. After leaving the Duke’s territory, Kyle stopped at the first village they reached and bought her some clothes. There were no new garments in such a small place, so he found a well-worn dress that had belonged to the woman with the largest chest in the village. Even that was still quite tight on Yuri.
“Ah, this feels a little better.”
As she spoke, Yuri loosened the fabric covering her chest. Her generous breasts bounced heavily, boldly exposing most of her alluring cleavage. Kyle quickly grabbed the cloth and pulled it closed again, warning her.
“Don’t undo that so casually. A woman should protect her modesty.”
“…There’s only you here anyway, Kyle.”
“That’s exactly why I’m saying it.”
Telling her to endure the slight discomfort, Kyle forcibly covered her chest once more. Even while feeling a bit stifled, Yuri smiled lightly, looking somewhat pleased. In truth, the tightness wasn’t that bad. She could adjust the clothing’s size with magic to a certain degree.
“Where are we going, exactly?”
“First we’ll head to Meyer territory, get you some proper clothes and money, and then—”
“No.”
“Huh?”
“If we go to Meyer territory, it will only cause a commotion.”
Yuri knew exactly what her father would do to retrieve his runaway daughter. He had probably already sent a support request to the Meyer lands. While the Meyer territory lacked the forces necessary to capture a Master like Kyle and a 4-star mage like herself, she didn’t want Kyle injuring the Meyer knights in the first place.
In that case, they simply had to run far, far away. And conveniently, they already had the perfect excuse to do exactly that.
“Let’s go to the sea.”
“The sea, all of a sudden?”
“We promised we’d go together. Didn’t we?”
Yuri suddenly remembered what Kyle had said earlier—that she should be careful with her body even in front of him. In other words, he felt excitement when he looked at her. Her mother had taught her that the way to control a man was to gently stimulate that very excitement.
Following the lessons she had received since childhood, Yuri pressed her chest against Kyle’s body and spoke softly.
“Please, Kyle… let’s go.”
“…I guess there’s no helping it.”
Kyle, who still didn’t know Yuri had run away from home, easily succumbed to her seduction. The sea, huh. He actually had quite a romantic notion about it himself. A big-breasted woman in a bikini, revealing those magnificent curves without restraint, while he enjoyed the sight and sensation to his heart’s content. On Earth there had been no women with breasts large enough to satisfy him, so he had given up. But this world was different.
Aren’t there way more big-breasted women than I expected?
Yuri, Aria, Arthur—most of the decent women around him had impressive figures. The sea, therefore, had to be full of dreams and hope.
Beaming with delight, Kyle gave the order to the coachman.
“Please head for the sea.”
—Pardon? Where did that come from…
“I recall there’s a famous resort area nearby.”
—There is, but… are you certain you wish to go there?
“Yes. Take us there.”
After giving the command, Kyle grinned brightly while imagining Yuri in a swimsuit.
Upon reaching the sea, Kyle felt the sharp bite of the summer sun and gazed out at the distant water. A midsummer ocean. In a world overflowing with nobles, vacationing by the sea was all the rage. Every summer, nobles would flaunt their figures along the shore in search of new romantic encounters—or so it should have been.
“…What is this? Why is no one here?”
Kyle tilted his head at the strangely empty beach. He stopped a passing local and asked.
“Why isn’t anyone at the sea?”
“Ah, you must not have heard the news yet. The ocean is currently off-limits.”
“Why?”
“Because the Sea God has appeared, of course.”
The moment the resident spoke, a massive fish burst from the water in the distance. It leaped dozens of meters into the air before diving back down, sending huge waves crashing in every direction. As if on cue, the resident pointed at the creature.
“That’s the Sea God right there. It’s already sunk three ships.”
The local delivered the warning and cautiously went on his way. Kyle recalled the fish that had just leaped from the sea and ground his teeth.
Are you seriously ruining my plans for Yuri in a swimsuit?
