This Is the Prologue
St. Celestia Academy.
Every noble house on the continent schemes to place its sons and daughters within these walls. Rumor even claims that blood of the royal line sometimes enrolls under an assumed name. By common consent and its own proud reputation alike, it is the finest institution for raising talent on the entire Rodoros Continent.
And yet, for all that perfection, the academy hides one fatal shortcoming that no one ever learns until they actually attend.
"It's disgusting."
The school lunches are unspeakably terrible.
"Are you serious? They made this for students to eat?"
"I'm not even joking — the servants at my house eat better than this."
"For real, lmao."
The cause, as one might expect, lay in the academy's founding ideal — steeped as it was in the influence of the Goddess Church. Religious schools are often like that. Every student was expected to live ascetically, ground down by doctrine that praised the thorny path of pilgrimage.
But in that nightmarish cafeteria fare, I found something else entirely.
The taste of a brilliant opportunity.
My name is Carmilla de Valin.
I will be the first young lady ever to raise the banner of rebellion against the Goddess's school lunch.
