Cutting Through the Line
“It's breeding season, so the stags have gotten ferocious—real trouble. They're even coming down here and trampling the crops... What do you say? If you're up for it, could you bring back the antlers of a mutant buck? Sticking the leader's antlers on the farm should scare the rest off.”
Exterminate the Mutant Bucks!
📍 Quest Grade: D
📍 Level Limit: Level 10 or below
📍 Content: Hunt the rare mutant bucks appearing near the village and bring back proof.
Mutant Buck Kills (0/1)
Mutant Buck Antlers (0/1)
*Quest Tip: Mutant bucks are Elite monsters. Forming a party is recommended.
“Hmm. They even have quest tips. Not a totally unfriendly game, huh.”
-It's the starter village. Gotta give the basics.
By tailing the blond guy and some newbies from afar, Carpe reached the city outskirts and met a farmer, snagging the quest from him too.
“Alright! Beginner support guild Mammonism here with the efficiency king—stag quest help!”
“We'll protect you from blind PKs and tank the stags' attacks too!”
“Cheap help available!”
A famous spot never lacks crowds.
Quest-grabbers, completers cashing in rewards, and their escorts kept the farmer swarmed.
“Okay, quests all taken? Time to move. We'll handle completion guaranteed.”
“Rohan, you're the man!”
“Never knew quests could slap this hard... Sorry for doubting you, Rohan.”
“Haha, no worries. Let's head out.”
The blond Rohan and newbies had already swapped names, heading off in high spirits. Carpe slipped in quietly.
“...What the hell is this?”
-Knew it was coming, but damn, this is bad.
The spot was a single-file line stretching forever.
“Ugh, an hour in line already—when do we hunt?!”
“Hang in there. Almost our turn. This quest's worth four normal ones in efficiency.”
People worn out but sunk-cost committed.
“Hey, no pushing! PK zone, remember? Want a sword in your gut?”
“One cutter gets everyone wrecked.”
On the verge of rage-quitting.
“Stag respawned! Number 67! 67, come on up!”
“Yes!”
“Ugh, two hours... Quick kill, then next.”
The waiters, winners, and weary mixed into a marketplace vibe at the stag zone.
“Heard old RPGs had insane quest lines too...”
-People never change. Plenty line up hours for food IRL too—what's new?
“True.”
But this game world birthed unreal drama.
“Whoa! Those guys!”
“Our turn!”
Three dudes shoved past a party nearing the stag, charging in.
“Idiots! Waiting forever?!”
“First come, first served. Order in a game too?”
“Stand in line forever and fall behind!”
Line-cutting!
Well, not guild-paid—solo operators.
“Quick kill and bounce.”
“Piece of cake. Our game's got mileage.”
“Never actually eaten mileage, though!”
Minsu, Gwangsu, Jeongsu.
Current high schoolers from a top Seoul academy, always glued as the “Tri-su” crew.
“Gwangsu, grab aggro!”
“Roger!”
Bam!
Gwangsu body-slammed the stag; it flinched, locking on him.
“Aggro secured! Owned!”
“Sick!”
Kids, but game-smart with seamless teamwork from years together.
“Now my blade-sharp DPS time... Huh?!”
But that's where it ended.
Why hadn't others cut? Nobody wants game waits.
Reasons exist.
Whoosh!
As Minsu swung his wooden sword, an arrow from the woods nailed his leg.
“M-Minsu!”
“Who the... Urk!”
Gwangsu and Jeongsu raged, but arrows rained on them too.
Tri-su HP bottomed in seconds.
“T-This the Monkey Bandits?!”
“Sis, I'm dying!”
“Dumbass! Drip while dying?! Help us!”
Minsu begged nearby Mammonism guildie—no dice.
“Sorry. Helping you risks our users. Bandits target here too. Whoa.”
The guildie shield-blocked an arrow aimed at his charge. Routine move—not his first rodeo.
“So escape solo. Or die.”
“N-No way.”
“Oh, revive and hit Mammonism. Coin pays full protection.”
“Sold it all at the shop!”
“Tough break.”
Pfsh!
Dozens of arrows pierced the Tri-su; they grayed out.
“Hold formation, protect newbies!”
Monkey Bandits weren't done, peppering the line. Mammonism blocked flawlessly.
“Mammonism delivers.”
“Thought solo... Dodged a bullet.”
Crowd admired.
Minutes later, arrows stopped; quests resumed.
-Your turn for questing.
“Me? Join that line?”
Carpe eyed the endless queue. Post-raid, it hadn't shrunk—cutters even joined back, lengthening it.
“...Pass.”
-Think I'd waste time? Other respawns exist. Way more stags there.
“For real? Where?”
-That way.
Carpe followed Cheonma's finger, then chuckled.
“...Sounds fun.”
-Fun and profitable.
Cheonma pointed to the forest by the stag field.
Monkey Bandits' nest.
“But won't I turn pincushion? Can I win?”
-Trees block arrow spam. Win? You don't grasp your absurd stats yet.
Leisin's like a newbie village.
Easy quests, mobs for adaptation.
-Level 10 cap. Hit 11, auto-warp out.
No highbies in low zones.
Core RaSe rule. Obvious in PK world.
-Highbies take harsh penalties. Exceptions like 'Merchant' classes roam free.
“Trader-anywhere concept?”
-Kinda. Anyway, strongest in those woods? Level 10.
5 stats per level.
Carpe's all-stats +24 equaled level 24 raw.
-No one's matched your starter stats ever. Feel those arrows' slowness?
“Snail-paced.”
Too slow—could've snatched mid-air.
-Level 10 speed. Win? Prep for musou rampage.
“Leisin Lü Bu, deploying.”
Carpe charged the woods without hesitation.
A watching man: Rohan.
Mammonism guildie leading newbies.
Confirmed Carpe entered, whispered:
* * *
The woods felt oddly peaceful—not a hideout.
“Kinda weird thinking back.”
-What?
“Bandits' arrows—first vs. later felt off.”
-How so?
Initial shots at the cutters? Precise vitals.
Later barrage on Mammonism? Straight shots.
“Like they shot to be blocked.”
-Ha. You caught that.
Cheonma smirked inwardly. His summon had killer potential. Satisfying.
-Conclusion?
“Obvious. Mammonism and Monkey Bandits in cahoots from jump!”
Whoosh!
Carpe sidestepped; arrows thunked his spot.
“What? Newbie?”
“Bad intel. Moves scream level 10.”
“Tch. Revenge crawler after quiet spell.”
Tree-perched Monkey Bandits griped—no tension.
PK vets. Revengers always fodder.
“Annoying.”
“Treeline hide. No arrows—melee rush.”
“Gotta earn that paycheck.”
They dropped, tightening encirclement.
Tense standoff—but Carpe chillier.
“Lemme find video record...”
-RaSe auto-saves plays... Video? Streamer?
“Nah, just in case. Evidence later.”
Vs. Mammonism? Gold.
Or upload to streamer alt.
PK loot vids always hot.
Attacked in PK zone.
First aggressor penalized.
First aggressor drops item at 90% on death.
Slam!
Carpe rocketed at the Monkey Bandits.
