Second Job Change Complete
8-star Skill Acquired:Dimension Gate
6-star Skill Acquired:Blue Dragon Step
"Oh?"
Just like when he'd first advanced to Magical Fist Lord, completing the job change granted him new skills.
Carpe immediately opened his skill window to check them out.
8-star - Dimension Gate
Wield the power of dimensions to create a portal in front of the player. Travel instantly to any previously visited location through the portal. Party members and retainers can also move through it.
Record coordinates for specific areas. Can only warp to recorded coordinates, which can be freely saved or deleted.
Higher skill levels increase the number of savable coordinates.
Lv. 1: 5 coordinates, 5 passengers.
Lv. 2: 7 coordinates, 8 passengers.
...
Lv. 5 (Master): 20 coordinates. 30 passengers. 20% cooldown reduction on spatial skills.
Currently saved coordinates: Room
"Huh? A warp skill?"
-This is surprising. Warp skills are super rare. Especially long-range ones—there aren't even 10 people who have them, counting everyone I know.
"Whoa, really?"
-Yeah. Most folks just use short-range stuff like Blink.
Long-distance travel skills like those of the warp NPCs in major cities were practically nonexistent.
No wonder mobility skills were rated 8-star.
-Nah, this is even better than NPC warps. Those only go between hubs, but this works anywhere. How many great hunting spots do people avoid because the trip sucks?
Of course, it probably couldn't warp everywhere—like event-only zones or limited-time dungeons.
Even accounting for that, it was an insanely useful tool.
Cheonma called it the most broken warp skill he'd ever seen.
"But do I really need to master it?"
Cheonma was raving, but Carpe was a bit on the fence.
It was tempting, but did he need to rush it? He was a solo player anyway—no big parties. And he'd just left Ruana, so not many spots to save yet.
He could always level it later if needed...
-No, master it. The master version has 20% cooldown reduction on spatial skills.
"True, but I don't have any other spatial magic besides Dimension Gate... Oh."
Wait, no—he did.
Casting, which swapped positions with retainers, was spatial too.
"Alright, that changes things."
20% off both skills? Worth it. He had skill points to spare anyway.
Dimension Gate → Lv. 5 (Master)
"Sweet. Next up, Blue Dragon Step."
As the name suggested, Blue Dragon Step was a movement skill straight out of wuxia novels.
A bit odd for a mage job, but whatever.
-Job skills usually fit the class, but not always. Sometimes it depends on your combat style during the quest.
"Ah, got it."
So his non-mage brawling—charging in and pummeling with fists—netted him this.
"This is awesome."
Mage class or not, Carpe loved melee. Perfect for him as Magic Fist Overlord.
A short-range explosive dash. Speed and cooldown improved with levels, so he dumped points in without hesitation.
Blue Dragon Step → Lv. 5 (Master)
"Congratulations on your job change, Successor. Here's your magic armament."
Elis handed him something like soft black cloth.

◈ Another magic armament developed over ages by the Magic King and his chief researcher Elis. Grants powerful resistance to magic attacks.

"Ooh! Ooooh!"
Flashy options that drew gasps of awe!
Where Enigma boosted physical and magic attack, Vasilas felt like an anti-mage superweapon.
"Magic nullification item!"
Even limited to 8-star or lower, it was huge.
"Set bonuses are nuts too. Dang, 2-set is this good? Full 5-set would break the game."
-...Isn't that item description way too long? Cluttered as hell.
"Tsk tsk. Jealousy's ugly. The academic consensus is: the longer the description, the godlier the item."
Carpe brushed off Cheonma's nitpick and tried equipping the new legendary...
"...Where does this go?"
Most items were obvious, but this? No clue.
A long black cloth, silky smooth.
"Successor, Vasilas is a pauldrons item. Equip it on your shoulders."
"...Pauldrons? This?"
-What? Pauldrons?
The two men reacted differently to Elis's words.
Carpe: How's this soft thing protecting my shoulders?
Cheonma: Why's it dropping there at level 55?!
-Hidden slot, right? Not supposed to get those till 50+!
"RaSe has hidden slots?"
-...Most players never see 'em till endgame, but yeah.
RaSe gear slots split into standard and special.
Standard: Head, Chest, Gloves, Pants, Shoes.
Special: Necklace, Rings (2), Bracelets (2), Cloak.
11 total. What most knew as the limit.
But...
-Five more rare ones: Pauldrons, Inner Gloves, Earrings, Belt, Insignia.
Dubbed "hidden" slots. Mostly bind-on-acquire, never auctioned, so unknown to most.
"So many item types. Full set would clutter the character window."
-Weren't you just saying more clutter = better?
Point was, Carpe now held one of those precious slots.
-Tch. Was gonna farm one bigger later, and it pops here?
High-level vet Cheonma had collected all five, with plans too.
"Oh yeah? Better than this?"
-...Not really. A tiny bit worse.
"Tiny?"
-...Tiny bit lot worse.
"Long live the Magic King! Glory to Arkram!"
Carpe grinned and placed Vasilas on his left shoulder.
The black cloth wriggled like it was alive, wrapping around his neck and settling.
"More like a muffler than pauldrons."
"It can't match my Lord's dignity, but it's quite stylish. Seeing you wear it moves me."
"Master, looking majestic. Majestic."
"Kyuu kyuu!"
"Yeah? Suits me, huh."
His retainers' approval lifted Carpe's mood too.
-They'd call you cool in a sackcloth.
"Eh, true. It's not the clothes—it's the wearer."
-...
"That trash-staring glare won't kill my vibe."
He was thrilled. Way too thrilled.
Expected a power spike from 2nd job, but gift bomb? Insane!
"One tiny regret, though."
Overlapping set slots.
He had two sets: Legendary Magic Armaments and Hero-grade Wind Set.
Both claimed "Gloves."
Had to drop one set bonus.
"Can't be helped. Swap as needed, like always."
Wind 5-set for mobility, Magic Armaments for damage...
"Um, Successor? I can fix that."
"...Huh?"
"Enigma passed through my hands too. A little mod is easy."
-...What?
"Can I see Enigma?"
"Uh, sure. Here."
Carpe removed the gauntlet and offered his palm.
She fiddled, then nodded.
"Yep! It's possible. Get me some Wraith energy, and I'll convert it into 'Inner Gloves.' I'll even keep the stats intact."
"...Say less. On it."
-This busted game crosses lines again! Hidden slots two at 55?!
Cheonma wailed at the world's unfairness—but it always had been.
Carpe dashed out, massacred mobs.
Two hours later.
"Got it!"
"Perfect! One sec!"
"Brillis! Hwanglis! Daeris!"
"Ahaha... Just Elis, please."
Handed over materials.
Magic Armament Enigma's slot changed from 'Gloves' to 'Inner Gloves'.
Carpe now had the messiest—best—status window ever.
