That's My Clone, Though?
I had no idea what a prologue even was, yet here I was, suddenly possessed in another world. The moment the possession took hold, a status window floated up before my eyes, and the words Clone Ability were written there in clear letters.
I’d always been a hopeless gaming addict back on Earth. So when I saw that ability, I made up my mind right then and there: I was going to treat this like one giant game and enjoy every second of it.
That was the plan, anyway.
Unique Ability Acquired: Clone Creation
You may create up to three independent clones. Each clone can act separately from the main body. Mana consumption scales with distance and complexity of orders.
It was perfect. I could stay safe in my weak original body while my clones ran around doing all the fun stuff. Leveling up, clearing quests, romancing beautiful heroines—everything a guy could dream of in a fantasy world. I’d live the ultimate gaming life without ever having to risk myself.
At least, that’s what I thought.
Everything started to go wrong the moment the heroines opened their mouths.
…Wait. Those were all lines meant for my clones.
So why the hell were they looking at me with those obsessive, yandere eyes?
I was just the guy controlling the puppets from behind the curtain. I never once stepped into the spotlight. My original body was supposed to stay hidden in the library at night, reading books and napping during the day like the pathetic shut-in I’d always been.
Yet somehow, every single one of them had fixated on the real me.
The weak, socially anxious, under-160-centimeter, black-haired, red-eyed loser who couldn’t even swing a sword without tripping over his own feet.
I stared at the three identical faces of my clones standing silently behind the heroines, and a single, despairing thought rose in my mind.
This… wasn’t in the game at all.
The heroines’ eyes burned with terrifying devotion as they took another step closer. Their voices overlapped in a haunting chorus that sent chills racing down my spine.
Erielle Frost, Cerise, Kallie, Loyu, and even Kallea… all of them are staring only at the main body.
The clones have been completely abandoned.
I swallowed hard, my frail legs trembling beneath me.
Just what kind of bugged, tragic route have I accidentally triggered?
This wasn’t the fun, carefree harem game I’d imagined. This was something far darker. Far more dangerous.
And the worst part?
I had a terrible feeling that the real nightmare was only just beginning.
