Honey, The Right to Choose Belongs to the Strong
In this world, there exists a power known as the Gift. Everyone is born with one, a force that guides each person toward their own destined star. Some shine with a faint glow, while others blaze so brilliantly they dazzle the eyes. I was one of the faint ones.
Blossom Map.
When I turned five, the appraiser who examined my Gift declared it without hesitation. An ability that completely sealed off any possibility of my own growth, yet allowed me to guide and unlock the potential of others in the most perfect way imaginable.
My father did not waver for even a second.
“Teaching?” He looked down at me with cold eyes. “Our family built its name through strength. We have no use for such a pathetic Gift. Get out. From this day forward, you are no longer my son.”
It really was that quick. In a single moment, I was cast out of the family.
I lived each day spitting up blood, scraping by as a mercenary, surviving one desperate job at a time. Eventually, I found myself dying in the middle of some catastrophe.
And that was when I met her.
“...How bright.”
An unfamiliar voice spoke.
“A small star, yet exceptionally radiant. One with a peculiar power to draw others in.”
“Who... are you?”
“I am the principal of Lagrange Ark Academy. Astrape Lagrange.”
She extended her hand to me.
“This old one would have thee come along with me.”
“...You really are a strange one.”
“Thy answer?”
With blood still staining my lips, I smiled.
“All right...”
Then I closed my eyes.
When I opened them again, I had become a teacher at the academy.
To repay the debt I owed her. Or perhaps to prevent children like my former self from collapsing under the same chill I had known.
I gave everything I had.
The children the principal had brought to me. My fifteen beloved disciples.
“GRAAAAAAAHHH!!!”
“Teacher. Thou art noisy...”
“I’m the teacher! You’re all students!”
“That is for the strong to decide. Not the weak.”
One of my disciples whispered right beside my ear.
“Honey♥”
Cancel that. These insane disciples...!
