Transmitting the Golden Elixir Daoist Art
Grandma Mi-mi’s words left Tang Myung with a question.
“Does the Golden Elixir Daoist Art have anything to do with the Samyang Divine Art?”
After hearing the question, Mi-mi smiled gently.
“I stole the Samyang Divine Art from my original family and learned it. From there, I came up with one hypothesis—making my own body a cauldron for the elixir.”
“Making one’s own body a cauldron?”
Tang Myung tilted his head in confusion.
“My original family has a deep connection to poisons and herbs. That’s why the children of our clan have so much poison and potency accumulated in their bodies.”
Tang Myung and Tang Hong listened intently as Mi-mi continued with a smile.
“Poison and potency are different from internal energy, but they are definitely qi and strength. That’s why I studied whether I could melt the poison and potency dwelling inside my body with the heat of the Samyang Divine Art and turn them into qi usable like internal energy.”
“Did you succeed?”
Tang Myung asked in surprise. Mi-mi shook her head slightly.
“Half succeeded.”
“Half?”
“I succeeded in melting the poison and potency inside my body with the Samyang Divine Art and fusing them into one. But a problem arose.”
“A problem? What is it?”
“Elixirs appeared in my body.”
“Elixirs?”
Tang Myung looked puzzled. Mi-mi nodded.
“At first, one elixir formed. Inside the lower dantian, it held a single strand of qi. All qi was present, but it was chaotic and extremely difficult to use. Later, two elixirs from the yin-yang principle, three elixirs of the three talents—sky, earth, and humanity—four elixirs divided by the four elements, and now five elixirs of the five phases reside in my body.”
Tang Myung asked about something he had never heard of.
“Does the elixir forming in the physical body mean the same as the inner elixir in spirit beasts?”
“The inner elixir of spirit beasts is something only spoken of in legends, so I have never seen one. As for the elixirs in my body, although I can feel them, I cannot see them, so I do not know if they are the same as inner elixirs.”
“Then what is the benefit of having elixirs?”
“Elixirs are the crystallized essence of the qi melted from the poison and potency in your body. Even if the internal energy in your dantian depletes, you can use the elixir’s qi. In that sense, elixirs are like another dantian. The amount of usable internal energy and the recovery rate are both stronger. Moreover, the more herbs and poisons you consume, the stronger these elixirs will become. Of course, this requires reaching a sufficient level with the Samyang Divine Art to melt the poison and potency inside your body with enough heat.”
Upon hearing this, Tang Hong muttered softly.
“The Golden Elixir Daoist Art… refining elixirs by turning one’s own body into a cauldron… The name suits it perfectly.”
Tang Hong’s muttering caught Mi-mi’s fleeting glance before she nodded.
“I spent a lot of time coming up with that name.”
“It is truly a wonderful name.”
Tang Hong cupped his hands and replied. Mi-mi looked at him, then took a handkerchief from her bosom and handed it to him.
“I’m sorry I injured you.”
“Don’t say that. Even if my body is crushed to powder, as long as your heart is at ease, I am satisfied.”
Mi-mi smiled faintly at Tang Hong’s words.
“You speak nicely. What is your position?”
“I am the leader of the Bicheon Unit.”
“The Bicheon Unit… You are the Young Family Head’s most trusted subordinate.”
“That is correct.”
Tang Myung watched as Mi-mi studied Tang Hong’s proud claim.
“What is your relationship with Tang Jin-seong?”
“He is my grandfather.”
“Indeed… I see.”
“You know my grandfather?”
“He was quite interesting. When difficult times came, he smiled and led the children instead. Hahaha! He was also very cheerful.”
Mi-mi shook her head, turned her body, and spoke.
“Come with me.”
Tang Myung exhaled heavily and took a pill from his bosom, quickly placing it in Tang Hong’s mouth.
He then swallowed one himself and hurried after Mi-mi.
The two followed Mi-mi and soon spotted a bamboo warehouse.
When Mi-mi raised her hand, the old men flew through the air, caught the roof, and carried it away.
With the roof suddenly removed, Mi-mi stepped inside. The two followed her in.
Sunlight streamed down through the open roof, illuminating the interior brightly. The two noticed small, meticulously crafted models of buildings scattered across the floor.
The building models were incredibly delicate and refined.
“Tang Clan Castle…”
Tang Myung smiled unconsciously while gazing at the models.
“Little Family Head… This is the home.”
Tang Hong murmured in emotion as he stared at the model. Tang Myung followed his gaze to the Tang Clan Castle model.
“This is home.”
Watching the two with tears in their eyes, Mi-mi knelt on one knee to view the model.
“Every time I missed the Tang Clan Castle, I built a home. One by one… I built homes filled with longing.”
Mi-mi stared at the Tang Clan Castle model and continued.
“Do you understand the heart I put into creating the Tang Clan Castle?”
Tang Myung and Tang Hong remained silent. Mi-mi stepped forward and placed her foot inside the model.
Swish!
“It didn’t break… It remained intact.”
Even with delicate wooden and bamboo structures, Mi-mi’s footsteps did not cause them to crumble.
Swish! Swish! Walking softly around the Tang Clan Castle model, Mi-mi gazed at the Pavilion of Flying Heaven.
Mi-mi said while looking at the Pavilion of Flying Heaven, the heart of the Tang Clan Castle.
“From here, I was exiled from the Tang Family. In the Heavenly Grant Forest, I shed tears over my resentment toward the Tang Clan. But as time passed… the longing for my family grew deeper. I wanted to return. But I also wanted to avenge the family that abandoned me. Look at how strong I have become, you who abandoned me. I wanted to say that the Golden Elixir Daoist Art I created is truly magnificent.”
Mi-mi stared quietly at the Pavilion of Flying Heaven… and clenched her fist.
Crack!
The model of the Pavilion of Flying Heaven shattered. Tang Myung and Tang Hong were startled as they watched her.
The models were clearly works of devotion. Moreover, shattering models she had made over such a long time with her own hands?
Seeing their shock, Mi-mi smiled.
“But the longing has ended. Since I have returned to the Tang Clan…”
As she spoke, Mi-mi lifted her foot and stepped on the model of the Pavilion of Flying Heaven, looking at Tang Myung.
“Move the Tang Clan Family members from the original family in the Central Plains to Yunnan.”
“I understand.”
“Tang Hong.”
Tang Hong cupped his hands and bowed his head upon being called.
“As you command.”
“Assign people to accompany you. Travel to the Central Plains together, lead the Tang Clan Family members, and bring them back.”
“As you order.”
Tang Myung snapped his fingers. The old men hurriedly entered the warehouse.
“You will follow Tang Hong to the Central Plains and back. Listen to his commands well.”
The old men’s faces showed a moment of fear.
Mi-mi said to the old men.
“I will give you six months.”
After speaking, Mi-mi took an jade bottle from her bosom and tossed it to the four men.
The old men received the bottle and Mi-mi said.
“Inside are six elixirs. If you feel an attack coming, swallow them.”
The old men carefully placed the jade bottle in their bosom and looked at Tang Hong.
“We will ask for your continued guidance.”
Although they were servants, they were all strong experts. When Tang Hong performed the proper courtesy, Mi-mi frowned.
“Treat them as servants. No need to show respect.”
“Even so…”
“These are all trash. Killing them immediately would be the only good thing that could happen to these evil people.”
Tang Hong’s cold words caused the servants to nod repeatedly as if agreeing.
“But these people can’t speak?”
Tang Myung asked. Mi-mi looked at the old men. The old men’s mouths opened at her gaze.
And Tang Myung frowned. The old men’s tongues had been cut out.
“You… cut out their tongues?”
“When thinking about their dead families and villagers, the tongue is nothing.”
Mi-mi looked at Tang Myung.
“Are you pitying them?”
“What crimes did these people commit?”
Mi-mi looked at the bald-headed old man in the center.
“This one was exterminating an entire village.”
“A village?”
“He was killing all the common people and abducting the women and children. That is why he was brought here.”
Swish!
Mi-mi looked at another.
“This one abducted women, locked them in his own estate, and kept them there. So his tongue was cut and his lower body was crushed as well.”
One by one, Mi-mi described the evil deeds of the others. All of them were things she had personally witnessed when she was unable to leave the Heavenly Grant Forest.
“Bringing them here is like showing them kindness.”
“I understand.”
Tang Myung nodded and looked at Tang Hong.
“At this point, the original family’s Tang Clan Family members should have scattered toward Zhongjing and Guizhou.”
Tang Myung mentioned the strongholds of Zhongjing and Guizhou. Tang Hong nodded.
“I will safely bring the Tang Clan Family members.”
“We ask for your assistance.”
After Tang Hong cupped his hands toward the old men and then glanced slightly at Mi-mi.
“Great-grandmother.”
Tang Myung’s worried tone made Mi-mi nod.
“Are you worried that I won’t listen?”
Tang Myung quickly nodded.
“I am stronger than you.”
Mi-mi shook her head.
“These people cannot survive outside the Heavenly Grant Forest.”
“Eh?” “There are the poisons and herbs I planted here. These fellows are addicted to those poisons and herbs. Therefore, if they stay away from this place for too long, they will suffer Golden Elixir symptoms.”
Mi-mi looked at the old men. Their faces turned deathly pale. Seeing the fear on their faces, Tang Myung and Tang Hong understood that the Golden Elixir symptoms were extremely painful.
“So listen to my words.”
Mi-mi looked at the four old men.
“Right?”
The four old men immediately prostrated themselves and repeatedly bowed their heads to Tang Hong.
Tang Hong’s face showed bewilderment. He knew these were evil people who were a curse to the world… yet they were ancient experts.
Ancient experts kneeling before him and bowing repeatedly.
“Is it enough?”
“Yes.”
Tang Myung answered. Mi-mi looked at the old men.
“If Tang Hong has one wound upon returning, you will know what will happen to you…”
The old men knocked their heads on the ground.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!
When the four old men knocked their heads on the ground, Mi-mi nodded and said.
“Go and return.”
Tang Hong looked at Tang Myung.
“Then I will go and return.”
“Be careful with your body.”
“I understand.”
Tang Hong looked at the old men.
“Let’s go.”
The old men bowed politely to Mi-mi and then left the warehouse.
Tang Myung and Mi-mi followed them outside.
The four old men glanced at each other, then one nodded and fetched a bamboo pole.
The two held the bamboo pole front and back and looked at Tang Hong.
“…?”
Tang Hong wondered why. The old man sat him on the bamboo pole.
“Huh? Ah!”
The two old men lifted the bamboo pole onto their shoulders. Naturally, Tang Hong floated into the air.
The old men bowed to Mi-mi and then leaped.
“Hah!”
Tang Hong swallowed his cry and gripped the bamboo pole tightly.
“Go and return safely!”
Tang Myung’s shout caused Tang Hong to turn his head while gripping the bamboo pole.
“We… will… go… and… return…”
As the shout grew weaker, the ‘please’ was not heard.
Since the mission had a deadline, the old men used full power in lightness skill and carried Tang Hong away.
Tang Myung watched Tang Hong’s retreating figure and turned to Mi-mi.
“Although they didn’t ask, if they run away with a death wish…”
“Bad people value their own lives more than anything in the world.”
Mi-mi looked outside and said.
“And if life here has grown boring, they would have already committed suicide. Yet they are living as servants because they want to live like this. They will return.”
Tang Myung nodded and looked in the direction Tang Hong had gone.
“Lead the Tang Clan Family members safely.”
