The Noble's Ravishing Kiss
“…!”
A muffled cry that couldn’t escape slipped from her bitten lips. Soon, their lips—soft as silk—tangled even deeper. Her lips parted wider in shock at the bold intrusion of his tongue. It was his chance. Bjorn thrust deeply into the gap.
Hot breath leaked from her open mouth, a sweet fruity scent brushing his nose, and her tongue felt just as intoxicatingly warm and plush. When he approached her retreating, slick tongue and touched it, her gray eyes widened impossibly, and he thought they resembled transparent gems.
As their gazes locked, he twisted his view slightly and saw the two noble bastards who’d been behind her turning away in defeat. He’d already dealt with the prying eyes around them. Having tasted that sweetness once, an unbearable thirst surged from within. Bjorn held her tightly, pinning her in place, and attempted a deeper invasion. Her tongue, caught between their locked lips, tried to flee but was soon captured. The sensation of touching that soft tongue, wrapped in warm, sweet saliva, was indescribably ecstatic. Intoxicated by its drug-like sweetness, Bjorn wrapped his tongue strongly around her stiff one and sucked it in.
Fragrant saliva, like fruit juice, flowed into his mouth. He craved more of that rich, moist flavor. As he sucked greedily, as if to swallow it whole, she suddenly bit down hard on his tongue with her molars.
A sharp sting pierced him. In that moment of carelessness, the soft tongue filling his mouth slipped away. Bjorn stared at her, a mix of stinging pain and hollow loss washing over him.
“You gonna keep standing there like that without getting on?”
The commercial carriage driver asked, his wrinkled eyes crinkling with amusement, as if he’d enjoyed the show.
Emily startled at the sudden approach of the dark, towering figure. He was a tall man, wearing a large hood that concealed his face just like hers. Without a word, he grabbed her waist roughly, pressed her body against his, and claimed her lips.
The moment their lips met, Emily froze, her breath catching. Her eyes widened in sheer surprise. She felt it vividly—someone’s mouth on her lips right now. A thick, musky masculine scent assaulted her senses. It was bewildering, yet strangely not repulsive.
This sudden kiss, crashing like lightning, was utterly different from Killian’s polite and gentle ones. But a thrilling, ecstatic tingle spread from the edges of her lips, and the dense scent of the man whose strong arms encircled her waist wasn’t unpleasant at all. Honestly, the unfamiliar aroma seeping into her nostrils was dizzying.
Mid-kiss, something sparkling caught her eye. Glancing down slightly, she saw it glinting at the man’s throat. His shirt collar was loosely undone, revealing a silver chain. Narrowing her eyes, she followed it to a delicately engraved silver shield-shaped pendant at the end. Inside the pendant, a crescent moon and what looked like a horse were etched—but it wasn’t an ordinary horse.
What’s that?
Emily examined it closely. The engraved horse’s head had something odd attached—a horn, upon closer inspection. A single horn protruded boldly from its forehead.
Emily racked her brain. A unicorn. A horse with a single horn was a unicorn—a mythical beast that didn’t exist in reality. A unicorn and a crescent moon. An unusual necklace, she thought.
Her absorption was short-lived. Soon, his hot tongue pressed against the seam of her lips, and as if mocking her stiffness, it roughly forced its way in. The hot, pliant tongue began sweeping through her mouth. She flinched in surprise, trying to retreat, but it pursued her, wrapping her soft tongue tightly in its plush embrace.
In that instant, a prickling jolt shot from her waist to the tip of her scalp, leaving her whole body numb. The soothing, enveloping warmth made her float, hazy and distant. The man coiled his tongue roughly around hers before starting to suck with wet, smacking sounds. At first, it was a sweet pull that tugged at her brain, but unsatisfied, he sucked harder and harder. The once-soft sensation turned into a painful suction, as if it might be drawn out entirely.
The pressure was so intense she couldn’t breathe—it was agony. Emily bit down on his tongue with all her strength. It snapped back in shock and withdrew, and her pent-up breath exploded out. Her halted breathing rushed from her lips, her heart pounding like a drum. Her legs buckled, dizziness washing over her. Her head spun wildly.
“You gonna keep standing there like that without getting on?”
The driver called from the front. Emily shook her head slightly, clearing the fog from her mind. That’s when it happened. The man ahead suddenly raised his hand and flung her cloak back. Their eyes met as her hood fell away. He froze for a moment in surprise, then his eyes crinkled warmly. With a strange smile, he silently gestured toward the carriage interior, inviting her aboard with refined courtesy.
The man she faced was undeniably handsome. Orange hair and golden eyes gave him a warm allure. He didn’t seem like a bad person. Yet something in his aura made her feel she couldn’t refuse his offer.
But this is the guy who just ran up and kissed me out of nowhere. Get in a carriage with him?
As Emily glared at him suspiciously, her body suddenly lifted. Strong arms wrapped around her waist, shoving her into the carriage.
“Milady? Where to?”
The man beside her asked, sliding his hip close to hers. Déjà vu hit her. Before Mark had assaulted her as a child, it had felt just like this. Emily froze, eyes wide in shock.
The golden-eyed man scanned her up and down with intrigued eyes, then instructed the driver. “To Poenneu Street. She looks like she lives there.”
“With company, miss?”
The driver eyed her hesitantly for confirmation, but the man pulled something from his pocket and tossed it. Clink—the driver snatched the flying coin. A gold coin, gleaming yellow in his hand. Jackpot. The driver whipped the carriage into motion without another word.
The man’s subtle gaze examined Emily closely. She stared anxiously out the window. Poenneu Street and Citéga were only a twenty-minute walk apart, so the carriage soon entered the grand mansion district. Like Citéga, the boulevard was jammed with the early-year bustle, slowing them amid the packed carriages. Seizing the moment, Emily reached out and flung open the door, leaping out.
Commercial carriages had freely opening doors on both sides, no latches or locks, so she escaped easily. A sharp shout came from behind, but she ignored it. Clutching her paper bag tightly, Emily dashed into the alleys between the grand estates.
Huff, huff… She ran at full speed until she escaped the main road. Stopping in some unknown alley, she panted, scanning her surroundings quickly.
Did he chase me? Am I safe? Who the hell was that guy? Why did he just run up and do that?
Thoughts swirled chaotically, her heart racing. After looking around for a while with no one in sight, she finally relaxed.
Whew, that was close.
Emily exhaled in relief. Though the man’s touch hadn’t felt horrific, being held by a stranger terrified her. And when he’d sat close in the carriage, flashes of her childhood trauma resurfaced, filling her with dread. She’d waited for an opening, broken free, and run for her life. Thank goodness she’d escaped.
Confirming the intact paper bag in her grip, she patted her chest repeatedly.
The reason Emily had to come to Eliyum!!!
