Chapter 6: Just Streaming, But Do I Even Have Friends?
I'd only done a single broadcast, but when they asked if I had any friends, I answered timidly anyway.
They didn't seem to believe me at all. Truth be told, I didn't have any friends either, so I'd said it quietly. I felt a little sulky at the teasing chats, but there was no way I'd stop here. Muil's handle is broken.
"We have about an hour and a half left. What should we do? Games seem tough..."
A variety of topics popped up, but the one that caught my eye was the melon bingsu. Melon bingsu. I already loved fruit and ate it often, but lately with everything going on, I hadn't had time. So when Maerchen's specialty melon bingsu came up, my eyes naturally went to it.
"Should I do a mukbang? Yeah? I saw earlier you can order here like at a PC bang."
I needed lunch anyway, so I just ordered one melon bingsu. Nothing else, but I really wanted to try that bingsu. Melon bingsu. Melon! One of my top 3 favorite fruits. Anyway, after placing the order, a staff member brought it over pretty quickly.
"Thank you."
"No problem! Keep up the great streaming!"
I took the bingsu from the door and came back to find the chat on fire again.
What? What happened? Did something go down while I was getting the bingsu, or was it just because I took too long?
Two minutes away and it's like this...
I let out a disbelieving chuckle.
"Hey, everyone. I'm back."
I threw a little tantrum at the viewers changing their profile pics the second I returned and dug into the bingsu.
"It's delicious. But man, it's been forever since I had bingsu."
When was the last time? Probably winter two years ago. Technically, it was more like turning leftover ice cream tubs into bingsu, but still.
"No thanks."
I smirked, teasing the viewers a bit more as I finished the melon bingsu.
I kept reading the chat even while eating the bingsu. Maybe I was a true streamer after all? Honestly, broadcasting might be my calling.
...Yeah right. As my inner illustrator delusions ran wild, another chat caught my eye alongside the bingsu.
"The vote's started?"
I wanted to check it out too, but decided against it. First-half votes could flip anytime, which might just make me anxious. Better to keep streaming without looking.
"It's lunchtime. I'm full on bingsu, so maybe a sandwich for me—what about you all?"
Pork stir-fry everywhere. It is tasty, but... weirdly obsessed viewers. I turned away and gave a farewell.
"Alright, enjoy your pork stir-fry. See you later."
And with that, the morning broadcast came to an end.
Unlike the chaotic morning.
"Have a great day, everyone."
