Prologue
I wasn't really into the murim genre.
Starting up the latest murim RPG was nothing more than a passing whim.
But somehow, I ended up dropped right into that murim world.
“......What the fuck.”
No wonder my mind had gone all fuzzy the instant the game launched.
What was with that freaky wind? Murim my ass. Should've just stuck to my usual games.
Anyway, overnight I went from your average modern guy to a murim worlder.
If I had to sum up my feelings in one line—
“So goddamn empty.”
Down below was empty. Horrifyingly so.
Like I'd lost my soul's perfect match. The hollow ache of walking a road with no way back.
But up top, it was the total opposite.
“Why the hell are these so heavy?”
My chest throbbed with a pressure I'd never felt in my life. Like hauling around two basketballs strapped to me all day—not exactly a riot.
What now? Not only had I crash-landed in murim, I'd somehow turned into a woman.
And that wasn't even the half of it.
Catching my reflection in a stream now and then made it even more ridiculous.
Silver hair cascading so thick it blocked my vision, silver eyes to match. And pointed ears putting the cherry on top.
“An elf in murim.”
The very first elf ever to drop into murim—that was me.
How'd a plain 21st-century college dude end up as an elf chick? Simple, really.
The classic character customization at game start.
No one wants to trash their own avatar, game or not. Nobody's sinking hundreds or thousands of hours into some orcish ugly mug.
If you're out there who does—tough luck.
But that sure as hell wasn't me.
And to top it off, I had this nasty affliction: couldn't touch a game without a pretty girl character.
Finally hammered one out, mods and all.
That explained the random elf popping up in murim.
“But I should've quit while I was ahead.”
A customization-obsessed looks freak like me? Settle for plain elf? No way.
Before the game even booted, I'd dumped dozens of hours into perfecting my masterpiece. Poured my literal soul into it.
Infinitely better than any character I'd ever sculpted before. Hell, comparing them would be insulting.
And that magnum opus? It was now etched flawlessly onto my face.
“......Damn, it's pretty.”
Whoever crafted it nailed it.
……Overnight, I'd become an elf plunged into murim.
An insanely, unbelievably, nation-toppling beauty of an elf.
