Hello. This is the Legend of the Unemployed.
'Surviving as a Northern Knight in a Fantasy World' has reached its conclusion after 361 chapters, spanning one year and twenty-six days of serialization.
I encountered many difficulties during the serialization, but I believe I managed to wrap it up well.
To be honest, I wasn't able to check the comments often while serializing.
I was afraid to check the comments, and even fair criticism made me shrink back. That is simply the timid, ordinary side of me.
It seems difficult to satisfy everyone.
Still, I tried my best to write a story that would be as satisfying as possible.
For me as well, this was a work with many parts I was satisfied with and many parts I found unsatisfactory.
I agonized the most over the historical accuracy within the work.
I researched as much as I could and read books, trying to track down even the things I did not know, but there were limits, and I could not fit everything in.
Because I combined fantasy elements, there were also many areas where I had to make compromises here and there.
Because of that, I think the work ended up with quite a few rough edges. I would like to apologize for them.
There were also many things in the middle that I knew about but couldn't fix.
Actually, partway through the serialization, I wanted to change the term 'chain mail' to 'chain armor'.
But by then I was already around Chapter 80... and revising everything that came before seemed likely to disrupt the serialization.
Then I would have had to change 'longsword' to 'long sword' as well, and once I started down that road there was simply too much... So I ended up pushing straight through to the end.
Looking back now, the prose was not as clean as I would have liked.
This work has plenty of shortcomings, but I have reopened sponsorship.
Whenever I mustered the courage to check the comments section, I often saw comments asking me to open sponsorship.
Anyway, while serializing as a commercial work, my insistence on keeping sponsorship closed until completion as a form of self-reflection seems to have just been my own stubbornness.
I am simply sorry for not opening it sooner.
I have rambled long enough.
When I finished my previous work, I had even more to say than I do now, but while serializing this work, my mind was so full of various thoughts that I instead find myself with nothing left to say.
I want to thank everyone who encouraged me in the comments during serialization and everyone who quietly kept reading, while also humbly accepting the criticism I received.
I am considering a few short side stories—Marcia's story, the hints surrounding the Khan, and things like that. They will not be very long.
The main story concludes here, but Keldric's journey will continue on into the future.
Thank you for reading 'Surviving as a Northern Knight in a Fantasy World' all this way.
I will do my best to return with an even more enjoyable story next time.
I pray that your homes will always be filled with happiness and peace.
I hope Keldric's journey feels as though it will continue into an unpredictable future—and that imagining that future is exciting in itself...
May God watch over you!
