Chapter Title: Earth History as Fantasy Serials
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The site hosting the fantasy novel contest in this fantasy world was an external site outside the community, so you couldn't access it through shared links—but that didn't matter.
『You really have to write only novels.』 "I promise."
What I wanted wasn't the contest prize money I couldn't claim anyway. It was to show them our world's history, which would feel like fantasy from their perspective. So just posting on the community was enough. 『But Mr. Lee Seung-hoon, have you ever written a novel before?』 "Nope. But since I'm not creating fiction—I'm just writing real history—it'll be fine."
All I needed was the information and basic writing skills to convey it. I'd even gotten permission from Sarang-i. I was already looking forward to their reactions.
"I've been reading recent webnovels, and there's this genre where modern creations or history from Earth are replicated straight into another world and praised."
Even without being a genius, the protagonist gets treated like one, spreading Earth's cultural power to the other world and basking in cultural superiority.
"You insert yourself into the protagonist getting genius treatment to satisfy your intellectual vanity and pride, and you get that cultural superiority rush—what they call 'national pride high'—from the otherworlders' shock. That's the fun hook." 『Does Mr. Lee Seung-hoon want to feel that intellectual vanity and national pride high too?』 "Nah."
Luckily, the community let you post with just a nickname and password—no full registration needed.
"I've posted tons on the community before, but never gotten any real recognition. So I just wanna taste that validation once." 『Earth's history would register as fantasy novels to them, so if you write it well, you could get huge acclaim for accuracy and plotting.』 "Alright, what history should I go with?"
I pondered for a bit, then a brilliant idea hit me.
"Fantasy world, so let's do European history."
Title: Review of 'I'm a Debater's Community Serial Novel, Joan of Arc
Posted by: Respect My Taste
A world without magic. A world without auras. A world without divine spells.
How would humanity live and evolve in such a place?
That's the core appeal of fantasy novels—we get hooked on imagining and building worlds we've never seen and can't see.
The latest serial by 'I'm a Debater' on the community, Joan of Arc, fits right in.
I was blown away when I first saw it. The meticulous depiction of humanity scraping by without mana was unreal.
Healing magic doesn't exist, so people die from a single wound getting infected!? No priests to heal them?
What? Gods exist, but not as real entities—just in the realm of faith?
So there are priests, but no divine spells?
No auras or magic, so wars hinge on archers, cavalry, and spearmen.
A world where they can't breach a few-meter wall without flimsy ladders, advancing only after the guy in front dies.
Human lives treated like flies.
Witches aren't real—just superstition some still buy into.
And everyday people living inconveniently without household magic.
I've read tons of fantasy, but nothing with this level of detail (I nearly pissed myself seeing the author's hand-drawn illustrations!).
Feels like the author lived in that fantasy world.
Legendary dimension mage who perfected portal magic? Nah, dimension magic's impossible—every great mage who tried got shredded by dimensional walls. Still, killer hook that makes you buy the delusion.
But once the worldbuilding wrapped, expectations shattered.
Plot: Protagonist saves a nation on the brink of war.
No magic/auras/priests, so hero's a commander winning with pure strategy/tactics—a classic "fantasy strategy" genre.
But the protagonist's a woman. Not just any—a country bumpkin peasant girl.
No higher education (author says so), straight from the sticks, suddenly wartime commander?
Thought it was a growth story, but her rise is absurd.
Voices from God and past saints tell her to save France (her country).
Godless world? Just faith-based? No foreshadowing of hallucinations or mental issues. Voices repeat, lands her in a religious trial.
But she gets validation—meets lords, crown prince.
Prince tests her disguised as a servant; she spots the real deal and shows proper etiquette.
Country girl? No education? No God/auras/magic/divine spells?
Validated, commissioned, she marches out undefeated.
Again: peasant girl. No basic education, let alone higher.
Yet innate tactical genius crushes enemy aces (educated nobility with experience), fights bravely alongside troops.
At this point, curses are inevitable—but worse awaits.
This magicless world uses gunpowder cannons firing iron balls.
Power rips limbs off easily. Cool creative weapon... that doesn't faze the protagonist.
Hit in the head? Fine.
I straight-up said "fuck."
Crossbow to the chest? Up next day commanding.
Sigh.
This woman's no protagonist—just a Mary Sue tool for the author's creepy urges.
Read to the end for the review anyway.
Betrayed by king due to rivalry/suspicion, captured, extradited, religious trial.
Author says priests are peak scholars—only the smartest qualify.
Our peasant girl (emphasis: zero real education) out-logics them in debate.
Unable to win fairly, geniuses frame her and execute.
TL;DR: What retarded bullshit novel is this?
Mary Sue at least gets a happy end—here, burned at the stake bad end?
After finishing, I vowed: Write this review. No more victims.
Summary for quitters:
Worldbuilding: 5/5, outstanding originality.
Writing: 3/5, not bad but stiff like a history book.
Character IQs: 0/5, all retards. Love whatever protag does. Top intellectuals lose to peasant (lol).
Protagonist characterization: 0/5, author's creepy urge fulfiller.
Plausibility/Realism: 0/5, plausibility doesn't exist beyond trash levels. Same for realism.
Overall: Vanilla ice cream topped with shit, eaten from the ass.
"Oof."
Looks like they didn't like the Joan of Arc story.
"Comments suck too."
『Mr. Lee Seung-hoon, even in our world, Joan of Arc's tales are controversial.』 "Figured they'd buy it somewhat."
It's a fantasy world, after all. Thought a story with lingering fantastical vibes would hit big, but they nitpicked hard.
"Shoulda gone with something else." 『How about Korean history? Our surveys show lingering orientalism toward the Eastern Continent.』 "Orientalism meets fantasy lit—not bad."
So what to write?
"For Korean wars, it's gotta be that one."
Clicked the write button.
"Imjin War."
Started typing.
"Admiral Yi Sun-sin."

Posted by: I'm a Debater
[Oh, what's this?]
[Eastern continent fantasy? Can't pass lololol]
[Wait, isn't this the Joan of Arc author? Hmm...]
[Safe to read? Author's iffy...]
[Worldbuilding's insane. Illustrations too?]
[Holy shit? First time seeing such a cool Eastern world. But medieval fantasy again?]
[Fast uploads. Drop 10 eps a day?]
[Nice. Falling for it one more time.]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 7: Military Exam Pass
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[Finally! Escaped unemployment!]
[Wasn't this slice-of-life? Why military now?]
[Short-tempered? Kept failing attempts before.]
[Protagonist picked the wrong career? 32yo failure fitting military? Nah.]
[Slice-of-life going corporate? Meh.]
[Was slice-of-life for 7 eps, so probably stays?]
Title's Immortal Yi Sun-sin, right? Journeys to immortality as endgame?]
[Fantasy world—possible? Tough even here.]
[What's hard? Ascend. Demi-god. Dragon heart. Lich.]
[Lurker lolol]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 10: The Wokou Raiders
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[Main invasion finally.]
[Loved protag crushing military exams.]
[Slice-of-life over.]
[Framed, exiled to private soldier, about to rocket up—sudden war drift?]
[Wins from battles, not dice rolls. Always been war story.]
[Demoting screw-up general to grunt for reflection? Good. Adopt here.]
[Fiction's fiction. They got no magic/auras—less hassle. Us? Great mage brewing coffee? Aura master on night shift? Archbishop mopping hall?]
[Oof, nightmare...]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 12: Battle of Tangeumdae
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[????]
[Le???gend???]
[Lol wtf level. Matchlocks OP or commanders trash?]
[Nation's top ace wiped in one battle lololol Enemy weapons unknown? Ace?]
[Knew per description. Just didn't care.]
[Said "matchlocks don't always hit." Read properly? Ignored knowing.]
[Why fight with river at back? No flight magic = suicide?]
[No clear depiction.]
[Dialogue? Desperate resolve to die with foes.]
[Chaotic fight led there?]
[Rushed troops, poor training, botched orders?]
[Don't bash commander. Facing new weapon exceeding expectations = loss inevitable.]
[Right. Holy Kingdom vs Lich King's first zombies: "Melt 'em with divine spells!" Result? 100k vanguard zombified.]
[Commander's personality. Cocky brute. Skimped recon, underestimated Japanese dogs, doubted matchlock accuracy, tiny fort so charged out. Reasons to lose everywhere. Winning weirder.]
[Matchlocks—could we make IRL?]
[Mana shots stronger per desc.]
[Perfect toy tho.]
[Lol yeah. Author creative with cannons too.]
[Both gunpowder? Author alchemist?]
[What about King Seonjo T_T]
[Crushed the court opposition, fast-tracked our Yi—best ally!]
[Seonjo'd scheme something.]
[Competent king. Plotting strat for sure.]
[Fr. Top competence so far—won't fold. Use protag/other generals for prolonged war.]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 13: Burning Hanyang

[lolololololololololololololol]
[lololololololololol]
[lolololol]
[Run! Run! Run! Escape! Runrunrun!]
[This is straight-up a fart lolololol]
[King kekekekek Abandoned capital kekekekek Abandoned people kekekeke Run kekekekekek]
[Why flee so pathetically lololol]
[Author, this right? Character collapsed in one ep?]
[Fr too rushed. Had flaws but not this trash.]
[No big issues bar girl problems. Making him this pitiful?]
[Y'all what? King captured = nation done. Fleeing's standard. Run's correct. Emotional idiots can't think straight.]
[True but strategic at least. No scorched earth, hands navy to son, flees north to Ming—looks like desperate self-preservation?]
[Obvious to people it's survival over strategy. King's authority tanks. Even post-war, throne shaky. Worse in fantasy?]
[Poor prince. Late teens, stays in fallen capital as commander? Jump in river honorable.]
[When's our Yi show?]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 16: God of Naval Battle
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[Whoa! Yi Sun-sin!]
[Yi crushing it!]
[Undefeated streak!]
[Turtle ship wtf! Turtle aesthetic! Design sense!]
[Dwarf here—panokseon next, then turtle ship hehe]
[Waiting.]
[Where? Not north for sea. Collab?]
[Scouting matters hit home.]
[You seeing this, Shinrip? Scouting this crucial.]
[Why Japanese navy so weak?]
[Land strong, sea trash]
[Yi's just GOAT?]
[Hm, author's last work Mary Sue vibes... uneasy.]
[Mary Sue? Would've enlisted earlier than 30s.]
[True?]
[Crane wing formation chef's kiss]
[Fr luring then flipping to offense—badass.]
[No comms magic yet so disciplined? Too fantasy?]
[It's a novel lololol]
[Win sea then what? Land getting wrecked.]
[Cuts supply idiot]
[Fight hungry?]
[Militia harass looting]
[Spotlighting Won Gyun—bad vibes]
[Trash smell wafting]
[Trouble soon]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 19: Dismissal
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[lolololololol]
[Plague famine desertion bullshit combo lololol]
[Author saw comments, changed plot? Too smooth so forced this? Obvious lololol]
[Author, Seonjo's character fully collapsed?]
[Yi handpicked by Seonjo? Loved him then jealous when succeeding?]
[Power hungry ok but wartime, nation collapsing?]
[Too forced...]
[Ruining a character for hardship]
[Fr wasn't trash-tier. Forced: ignores spy knowing, Yi jealousy, undermining, now frames as traitor, tortures, dismisses?]
[Author limits showing? Plausibility wrecked? Realism ruined?]
[Ease the frustration. Already truckload from plague/famine—now king's bullshit?]
[Payoff when?]
[Choking here!]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 23: Won Gyun
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[Fuck lololol]
[All fucked lololol]
[Nothing left lololol]
[Protag's mom dies en route to see him—solo tearjerker?]
[Sobbed. So sad]
[Cried with crying protag unable to bury]
[Pls author plausibility. Good talent spotter? Suddenly blind, hands navy to Won Gyun? Lost all skills?]
[All ruined right? Tasty?]
[Overdid turning char to trash—looks like fighting readers]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 24: Reinstatement
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[Begs protag for help after this]
[Reinstates but demotes 4 ranks lololol]
[Starting to hate protag too. Why take it like a pushover?]
[People love him, cause righteous, handles troops well—rebel go.]
[Get loyalty but too doormat. Overfrustrated—want explosive snap.]
[Author chill, pissing me off.]
[No funeral but mourning, king gifts meat lololol]
[No meat in mourning culture?]
[King knows—passive-aggression?]
[Sigh.]
[Can't take. Dropping fuck this]
[Author saving mega payoff? Kill shitking, Yi kings it? Mana grinding now? Believing.]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 26: Battle of Myeongnyang
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[Ha, this real?]
[Real author?]
[12 ships repel 330? Saw right?]
[Author can't write battles now.]
[Yolo ending. Lost passion.]
[Author, how 12 beat 330? Not command—common sense issue.]
[Power struggle. Wrecking own work to spite us.]
[Sigh, enjoyed despite gripes but attachment fading...]
[12 vs 330 annihilation? Illusion magic? Blue dragon sub support?]
[Ends "Actually Yi dimension mage visiting isekai."?]
[God-tier drift lol]
[lololol Author habit: Mary Sue munchkin sweep. Signature.]
[Last work too.]
[Last had losses. This? Undefeated lololol]
[Invincible ace never loses, king wants dead, his pick gets booted recalled, recalled then trolled hard. Author pls one concession—who endures? Ministers silent? Impossible.]
[Happy end at least?]
Title: Immortal Yi Sun-sin Ep. 28: Do Not Let My Death Be Known to the Enemy -Complete-
Posted by: I'm a Debater
[You fucking author piece of shit where you live]
[Frustration overload then protag dies end?]
[Don't tell enemy my death? Don't tell us either?]
[AU!!!!!!!!THOR!!!!!!!!FUCK!!!!!!!!YOU!!!!!!!!]
[Real history? Impressed. Loyal to end despite jealous king bullshit. But novel! Absurd plot/end!]
[Slice-life to rampage to despair drift, max frustration vs readers, char ruins, protag death end? End? END? Fuck you, novels a joke?]
[Time machine vibes. Back to rental shop era—sad ends everywhere.]
[Yeah. Heroine raped, parents dead, protag terminal, death end standard.]
[That era real?]
[Was. Saved heroine corpse, NTR common, protag breaks mad.]
[Never write again]
[Don't write ever]
[No novels fuck]
[This skill/creativity only mines? DON'T WRITE!!!]
[Reason: Endless frustration dumps no payoff, beefing readers, zero plausibility, Mary Sue simp, heavy char assassination, ending trashed.]
[Ban Duration: 999,999,999 years]
"Ah."
Real history's like that.
"Banned again."
