The Stalker's Raid
“She probably just texted me randomly, no real meaning behind it.”
“Is that right?”
Thankfully, Kim Eun-bi was still floating on cloud nine from our sex earlier. She was friends with Jo A-young too, so she didn't seem suspicious at all.
What should I do about this?
If Jo A-young really had been exposed to my Unreasonable Favor trait, things could get messy. Her brother was none other than Jo Dong-geun. Naturally, a relationship with her wouldn't be like the ones I had with the other three women. Hell, I wouldn't let my little sister date some guy with three other girls either.
S-rank above S-rank. I'd seen Jo Dong-geun on the internet and TV before—not just because he was a hunter, but his presence was downright terrifying. Even without awakening, he could've dominated any combat sport.
Did I make a mistake agreeing to this?
I started second-guessing my decision to join Jo A-young's dungeon raid.
Jo A-young replied right away when I texted her. There was a hint of disappointment in her first message. I shared the whole exchange with Kim Eun-bi, and she passed it on to Kim Seol-bi.
“What? You're going to the dungeon without me?”
“It'd be too easy with you there, Unnie. It's my friend, so she'd feel awkward if you tagged along.”
“I won't hunt. I'll just watch.”
“Tch, like I'd believe that. You'd go wild protecting Oppa anyway.”
“What? You little...”
Kim Seol-bi looked flustered but didn't deny it. We spent the evening just like any other peaceful night. I headed to the kitchen for water when Kim Seol-bi sidled up to me slyly.
“Sung-gi, want to sleep in my room tonight?”
“Huh?”
I glanced at Kim Eun-bi on the living room sofa. Luckily, she hadn't heard. I nodded.
“I'll come after midnight. Leave the door unlocked.”
“Okay...”
We couldn't have full sex, but there were plenty of other fun things we could do. What I'd done with Eun-bi on the sofa yesterday was just as good as sex in my book.
Night fell, and we all retreated to our rooms. I killed time on my phone, eyes glued to the clock. I needed midnight to sneak into Seol-bi's room. Lying wide awake in bed with those thoughts...
BANG!
Something shattered with a crash!
“Hm?”
Sounds like that didn't happen in a normal home. I bolted upright. Footsteps scrambled everywhere, men's voices murmuring. A chill ran down my spine.
There was only one possibility: Park Hyun-jun. I'd been ambushed by hunters he'd sent outside my place before. Could an S-rank like Kim Seol-bi really get invaded like this? But with a stalker like him, you couldn't think too rationally.
I hurried out of bed. Just as I reached for the door, a shadow whooshed past—Kim Seol-bi. She must've been awake too and reacted instantly.
“Who the hell are you!”
Her sharp shout echoed as lights blazed on throughout the house.
“Seol-bi, long time no see?”
That sleazy voice was unmistakable.
The psycho actually came.
Kim Eun-bi's door flew open. She stumbled out, sleepy-eyed. “Unnie, who's there?”
Kim Seol-bi glanced back urgently. “Stay back! Run with Sung-gi!”
BOOM!
Flames erupted around her body, hurling her into the wall. I'd never seen her like this. In dungeons, she was overwhelmingly dominant—no one could touch her. Yet here she was, smashed so easily.
“I'll handle this bitch! You guys grab the others!” Park Hyun-jun barked.
Heavy footsteps thudded closer.
“Unnie!”
“Seol-bi!”
She grimaced, slowly rising. “I'm fine—run, now!”
BOOM! Another cannon-like blast, and she vanished in a blur. I got it: Park Hyun-jun had some skill or weapon firing like a shell. She'd dodged with her speed, and the missed shot cratered the wall.
KABOOM!!RUMBLE...
The wall collapsed, shaking the whole house. I knew this place wasn't flimsy, but his power was monstrous. Probably not even full strength—he didn't want her dead, after all.
Then hands grabbed me from behind. Kim Eun-bi. She pulled my hand. “We gotta get out, Oppa.” She'd gone transparent and slipped into my room.
“But Seol-bi...”
“It's Park Hyun-jun. We can't help. Get out and call for backup!”
Backup? From who? Against an S-rank, cops or the Hunter Management Office wouldn't cut it. By the time they responded, it'd be too late.
Our door burst open. Several hunters lined up before us.
“That bitch is hot as fuck.”
“Heh heh. Ass is mine, got it?”
“I just want the guy.”
“No worries. No one else here swings that way.”
My spine froze. Their presence screamed A-rank. No way he'd bring weaklings below B-rank to hit Kim Seol-bi's house.
Kim Eun-bi tugged me toward the window, but one zipped in front, arms wide.
CRZZT! Electricity crackled, webbing the walls and sealing the room. Even with stealth and full transparency, she couldn't break through that.
Damn...
Kim Seol-bi's scream pierced from outside. I figured she couldn't match Park Hyun-jun right now. Same level or not, geared up with weapons versus defenseless? No contest. He'd planned for that.
Pulling this shit...
Kidnapping attempt outside was one thing, but storming here?
This guy's beyond saving.
“Be good. No need to get hurt.”
“I just need the guy. I'll take him to another room.”
“Go ahead. I ain't into guy-on-guy.”
One hunter eyed me hungrily, pants bulging. From the talk, he liked men. My mind reeled.
No way out. Then papers fluttered before us. Space tore open, and a figure emerged.
“A-jin Unnie!”
“A-jin!”
The familiar black-clad woman glared sharply. “Sorry. Took time to punch through the warp route.”
I knew this was her real body. She'd sensed the crisis, warped from afar. If she could teleport cars, this was nothing.
“Who the fuck's this bitch?!”
“Shit! You wanna die?!”
Park Hyun-jun's thugs panicked at the newcomer but held ground, confident in numbers. Four A-ranks—they didn't know Kang A-jin. An S-rank they'd recognize; one more A-rank changed nothing.
But whoosh! Boom! Boom! The floating talismans sharpened into swords. They pierced three throats and hearts in under a second.
Kim Eun-bi seized the gap, slashing the last one's neck.
“Gaaahhh!”
