The S-Rank Stalker Confrontation
“Aigoo~~!! Kim Seol-bi Hunter-nim! You should’ve said something if you were coming!!”
The director rubbed his palms together furiously and charged straight toward us. It was exactly the situation we’d feared. People swarmed S-rank hunters the moment they so much as twitched.
But anyone could see the director wasn’t the star of this scene. Park Hyun-jun snatched the leaping man by the collar. The director’s protruding gut suggested he tipped the scales at over 90kg easy, yet Park Hyun-jun hoisted him up without breaking a sweat. Watching the young man flail in midair, feet dangling helplessly, was equal parts pitiful and hilarious.
“What brings you here?” Kim Seol-bi asked Park Hyun-jun, her voice icy.
They were both S-rank hunters with history between them—no need for that chill. Something had definitely gone down.
“I know the director here. Passing by, thought I’d drop in and say hi.”
But the director dangling from his grip looked utterly baffled, his face screaming, Really? We’re buddies?
Ever the slick bootlicker, though, he recovered fast. “Aigoo~~ What an honor for this dump~~ Glory to the family!”
It was a textbook display of an S-rank hunter’s sway over dungeon-related civil servants and staff. Having worked at the Dungeon Management Office myself, I got it completely.
Park Hyun-jun’s brow furrowed faintly. Then he hurled the director inside the office like trash.
“Eek!”
Crashes and screams erupted from within—not a simple floor toss, but straight into the standing staff.
Hardly the move of a guy “just saying hello.” My curiosity spiked.
“You’ve said hi. Time to go, right?”
“Haha.”
Park Hyun-jun just chuckled at Kim Seol-bi’s frostbite tone. No dent in his ego. If anything, that nonchalance grated more. Beneath his handsome shell, I sensed a lurking madness. As a hunter now, I could kinda read the vibe of their mana. He wasn’t pissed because he had ulterior motives.
“Ooh~ Eun-bi’s here too. Giving your lil’ sis some dungeon time~~”
He knew Kim Eun-bi as well. She scowled and clutched my arm—zero interest in engaging.
Then his whole demeanor flipped in an instant. He’d spotted Eun-bi hanging on me. His eyes locked onto mine. No words, but chills spiderwebbed down my spine. Like that monster bear in the bathroom earlier. My life felt like it dangled on someone else’s thread.
But why......
“Who’s that guy?” Park Hyun-jun asked, lips curling.
“Relative?”
What to say? Alone with Seol-bi, we might pass for lovers, but Eun-bi complicated it. I couldn’t speak for myself.
“My boyfriend.”
Kim Seol-bi beat me to it.
“Huh?”
Faces around us froze. Park Hyun-jun. Kim Eun-bi.
“Sis!”
She looked ready to protest but came up empty, shooting me aggrieved puppy eyes. Fat chance I had answers.
Park Hyun-jun took it harder, though.
“Haha...... Good one. Eun-bi doesn’t do boyfriends, right?”
“What? What’s that supposed to mean?”
“When I asked Seol-bi out, why......”
“’Cause I didn’t like you. Never said a word about not liking him.”
Kim Seol-bi grabbed my hand. Eun-bi, still on my arm, had to step back. She looked majorly wronged but held her tongue—priorities.
“N-No way......”
Park Hyun-jun gnawed his lip like a kid denied candy. Danger radiated off him in waves.
Watching it unfold, I pieced it together. He was into Seol-bi. Had confessed, probably. She’d shot him down, but he’d twisted it—figured she wasn’t dating material right now, or needed persistent chasing. Otherwise, no way he’d react like this.
Super awkward.
Her hand in mine, I stood there stiff. His showing up wasn’t random. “Saying hi to the director”? Bull. He’d sniffed out she was here somehow. Goal: corner her. Perfect timing for our dungeon exit.
S-rank life ain’t easy.
Hell, their dating pool shrank hard—no deep intimacy with norms or low-ranks without risks. A- or B-ranks weren’t rare, and they’d kill for an S-rank, but equals? Another S-rank made sense.
“Ugh......”
He glared daggers. Her hand buffered the heart-squeeze, but I just wanted this creep gone.
“You a hunter too......?”
“Yeah.”
“A-rank?”
“Nah. D-rank.”
“What?”
His body swayed like he’d been sucker-punched. D-rank revelation rocked him.
“Y-You’re dating D-rank trash, Seol-bi?”
“Trash? Sung-gi isn’t yours to trash-talk. Mind your mouth.”
“Wh-What......”
Shook him deep. Only another S-rank could rattle an S-rank like that.
“Business done? Beat it. I’ve got office stuff.”
“Kh......”
He huffed, hand to his forehead like dizzy. Final glare my way.
Ugh!
Strength drained from my limbs. S-ranks were monsters—could squash a D-rank with a pinky.
“What the hell was that!”
Hand linked, she felt my sag. Without it, I’d have crumpled.
He smirked, saying nothing.
“Dunno if Seol-bi knows, but I always get what I want. A D-rank? You’re big-bodied but clueless about the world. Kinda hot, though.”
“Cut the crap!”
“Yeah, sure.”
He turned, lanky frame sauntering off. We stared at his back till he vanished.
“Phew......”
Kim Seol-bi sighed long, turning to me. “Sung-gi, you okay?”
“Yeah. But what the hell was that?”
“Sorry. Park Hyun-jun’s always been off. Don’t sweat it, Sung-gi. You’re the only one for me.”
Sweet words, but impossible to shrug off. Especially that glare—trouble brewing. S-ranks had pride, though. Wouldn’t stoop to cheap shots.
Right?
Eun-bi wedged forward, prying our hands apart. Like a cute kid squeezing between mom and dad.
“That creep’s sis’s stalker.”
Kim Eun-bi summed it up blunt.
“But what’s this about Sung-gi oppa being sis’s boyfriend?”
“That’s......”
Kim Seol-bi glanced my way, cheeks flushing. Mine heated too.
We’d never said the words. Without incidents, we’d have slid into it naturally anyway.
“Talk later.”
Uninvited jerk gone, we headed into the office to finish up.
