Poison Sorceresses Chichi & Titi (17)
Kang Mancheol, who had gone into hiding, was caught in no time.
I had no idea what methods Choi Yunmi had used, but she'd made sure he couldn't flee overseas, so his only option was somewhere in the country. Even if he'd holed up domestically, it was only a matter of time before they nabbed him. From my brief brush with that world, anything involving S-rank hunters was beyond common sense. Using their names alone probably let you bypass investigations and legal nets without issue.
"He was in Jeju. Still, he managed to run for days, so he must've tried his best in his own way," Choi Yunmi said coolly over the phone.
"We should meet at least once. Where would be good?"
"There's a hotel I know. It's perfect for a quiet talk. I'll send you the address. If you'd like, I can arrange a car too..."
"No need. It'd be too much trouble. I'll get there myself."
"Trouble? Hunter, you're saying such disappointing things~"
Choi Yunmi sounded genuinely let down. Even if it was just business, I didn't mind her showing this much sincerity. That must be how she held the top spot in her industry.
"Haha, see you soon."
"Yes~~"
When I told Titi and Chichi that Kang Mancheol—the guy who'd fled—had been caught, their expressions changed. Even after we'd already been intimate, they felt like completely different people, sending chills down my spine. To be precise, this was probably closer to their true selves.
"Where is he now?" Chichi asked, and I replied,
"They'll contact us soon, so let's go together."
In some ways, their thirst for revenge burned hotter than Kim Se-in's. It wasn't about the scale of the incident—it was a matter of attitude. As bosses of the underworld, these two women would've been merciless toward betrayers or enemies.
Either way, it wasn't my concern.
"S-sorry! I'm sorry! Please forgive me!"
Kang Mancheol looked utterly wrecked after just a few days. His clothes were torn from whatever happened during his capture, and his face was covered in scratches. With his scraggly beard and dark circles, he'd clearly been suffering nonstop while on the run. In a way, maybe leaving him alone would've been worse mental torture. But considering the manpower and money it'd take to track him, that wasn't practical.
His lower half looked odd too. The panty line—or rather, diaper line—was way too prominent. When I gave it a puzzled look, Choi Yunmi explained,
"He kept pissing himself from fear, so we put him in diapers. Sorry for the unsightly scene."
"Ah... no, it's fine. You've really gone through a lot. Thank you so much."
"Aigoo~ Not that again~~ Feel free to use me more. To be honest—and carefully, in this setting—I like you way more than the other S-rank hunters. Being around them feels... suffocating, somehow."
She said it with a blush. I got it completely. Back when I was a regular awakener working at the Dungeon Management Office, I'd dealt with hunters too. Even facing A-ranks rarely made my heart race, but S-ranks? That negative aura they exuded was no joke. Hunters had this ingrained disdain for normals—including regular awakeners—and when they treated you poorly, their mana leaked out naturally. No ordinary person or basic awakener could handle it. And Choi Yunmi dealt with S-ranks constantly. Her job must come with serious stress.
She's no ordinary woman, I thought. Though her flushed face carried more than just that vibe.
But I didn't have the bandwidth to worry about romantic interest from anyone outside my circle.
"Relax around me. Anyway..." I glanced at Kang Mancheol, who'd ended up in diapers from sheer terror during capture. "We should sort out the company first."
"I'll hand it over! Whatever price you want! Just spare my life!!"
At the mention of his company, his eyes bulged as he lunged forward. After the diaper talk, I swore I caught a whiff of urine and flinched.
"Whatever price?"
Choi Yunmi furrowed her brow at his words.
"Trying to negotiate now? After sending assassins? To an S-rank hunter, no less..."
Anger flared from her. They say civilians working with hunters start seeing themselves as hunters. Choi Yunmi, who dealt with S-ranks as clients, seemed even more insulted on my behalf.
"Th-that's..."
Tears streamed from Kang Mancheol's eyes. Just days ago, he'd flipped out at the idea of handing over his company. Hell, he'd even sent Thai assassins after me. That was a life-on-the-line move. His company meant everything to him.
But now? Total attitude shift.
"Hand it all over. Company, employees, capital. Who sells a dying business for cash?"
I was shocked by Choi Yunmi's icy demand. For free? I'd heard it was a solid mid-tier firm. My previous offer was already a tenth of market value. Things must've tanked hard in days.
Not my problem, so I watched silently.
"What? No way...! This is the company I built..."
I heard a faint psshht-psshht. The diaper hid it, but he'd pissed himself again. Even he hadn't expected a total giveaway.
Pathetic, really—zero grip on reality.
"A company built on crime and scams. The one you tried guarding by sending assassins at an S-rank hunter..."
Choi Yunmi's words and glare were ruthless.
"But..."
"We have all your personal assets mapped out. You know what happens if we leave you be. It'll just poison you more."
"Still..."
All the middle-aged man could do was sob pathetically.
Choi Yunmi tossed a contract at his feet.
"Sign."
"Haa..."
He sighed, hesitating. From the sidelines, it was frustrating enough to chime in.
"Do it quick."
I subtly pushed out some mana. Effective—he yelped like he'd seen a ghost, shoulders hunching, then scribbled his signature frantically.
Choi Yunmi snatched the signed contract, checked it with satisfaction.
"All done, Hunter."
She looked way happier than me.
"Let's talk more in the other room."
I stood. Kang Mancheol rose slowly, face ashen. As he shuffled,
"Where you going?"
"Huh?"
"You still have unfinished business."
"What...?"
We weren't alone in the hotel room. Women in the next room had heard everything.
They opened the door with a click.
"Aaaah..."
Kang Mancheol collapsed with a thud. Pssshht—PSSSHHH—a torrent from leftover bladder, soaking his diaper.
Made sense. Titi and Chichi looked straight out of a horror flick. Top-tier Thai ghosts. No normal human survived facing them.
Chichi muttered something in Thai to her sister. The foreign tongue amplified the terror.
I told Choi Yunmi,
"Let's step out."
Didn't want her seeing this. She might be used to rough stuff, but Titi and Chichi were another level. How they'd "handle" the man who tricked them into Korea and got their subordinates killed? Unimaginable.
"Y-Yunmi! Hunter! Please! Spare me!!"
Kang Mancheol screamed like a madman.
"We're fellow Koreans! Mercy! I'll do anything!!"
Funny how he wrecked honest lives without a thought.
I ignored him, leaving with Choi Yunmi. Horrific screams followed, but that was out of my hands.
We moved to the adjacent room. She'd said it was great for quiet talks—true. No noise leaked from next door, despite his wails.
Choi Yunmi beamed.
"Kang Mancheol's company is yours now."
