A Fight with the Thugs
White semen spilled from Su-yeon's pussy as she lay sprawled inside the octagon.
It had been a long time since he'd had sex that satisfying. Her skills and everything else weren't better than Adrian or the others — but the fact that she was a new woman seemed to matter more than any of that.
It was time to return to the real world. He'd completed the quest, which meant skill and stat rewards were waiting for him. The payout for this Subjugate the Delinquent Girl quest was 20 stat points and a random skill. He had no idea what skill he'd get, but 20 points was a considerable number in the real world — and with Heavenly Body, the effect would be even greater.
Returning to the real world...
The instant he willed the quest to end, he felt his soul being sucked back into reality. After jumping in and out of the quest so many times during his match with Han Su-yeon, even that sensation was starting to feel familiar.
He left the dark underground gym behind and returned to the real world.
Ten thugs stood waiting in front of Dong-hyun. Another ten stood behind him.
"Who are you? Do I know you?"
Dong-hyun asked the question on purpose, buying himself time — and as he spoke, he opened his status window.
Emperor's Charisma(SSS) | Heavenly Body(SSS)
Martial God(SSS) | Frail(F)
Possession(B)
Everything was the same as before — except 20P had appeared at the bottom, along with a new skill called Possession. It had apparently been randomly selected as a quest completion reward. A B-rank skill didn't look like much, but he didn't have time to check it now.
Dong-hyun quickly allocated the points, raising Strength and Agility by 4 each, and Stamina, Endurance, Perception, and Resistance by 3 each.
Power surged through his entire body. He felt lighter, too. Even twenty men felt like something he could handle now.
In response to Dong-hyun's question, one of the thugs up front pointed at the ground with a wooden club.
"That's none of your business. Get over here and get on your knees."
That one seemed to be their leader. Dong-hyun walked forward just as he'd been told, and snickers rose from the men around him. They figured he'd been intimidated by their numbers. With twenty of them armed with all kinds of weapons, the thought that he might actually fight back never even crossed their minds.
When Dong-hyun had almost reached him, the thug spoke.
"That's it. Good boy. Since you listened, I'll go a little easier on you."
Dong-hyun threw a straight punch straight into that arrogant grin.
"Wh—what??!!"
He'd never expected a fist to come flying at him. He couldn't dodge in time.
CRACK!
Dong-hyun's fist smashed into his nose and crushed it flat. Their boss crumpled from a single punch, and the men around them froze in shock. Dong-hyun glanced at them as he picked up the baseball bat the thug had been holding — then settled into the opening stance of Krantz swordsmanship.
Thanks to the Martial God trait, he could already perform the Krantz swordsmanship he knew, even with a baseball bat. Ailes's memories had transferred over along with the knowledge, and ordinarily he would have needed time to engrain that knowledge into his body. Martial God let him embody it instantly.
While the thugs stood stunned, the baseball bat in Dong-hyun's hands began to dance.
CRACK!
"Gyaaaaah!"
One of them took the bat flush in the face, screamed, and went down. Seeing that, the others finally snapped out of it and charged. Dong-hyun weaved right through them, cracking shins and knees with the bat as he passed, deflecting their swings even as he struck. In an instant, five more thugs were on the ground clutching their legs.
Dong-hyun had only gained 20 stat points — but Heavenly Body tripled the effect to a full 60. Twenty thugs had come, and seven of them were already down. Their morale started to crack.
"Wh-what the hell... what's going on..."
They started murmuring among themselves. They'd been told he was some rich kid, a soft pushover. Nothing about this made any sense.
"What? Twenty of you showed up and you're already scared?"
Dong-hyun was exhilarated. His body was moving exactly as he wanted.
Man... so this is the kind of world Sirian lived in?
His field of vision had widened. He could sense their attacks automatically, which was why he could move so fluidly — like water. His hands found every opening, and they went down without fail.
I could probably go pro as a fighter at this level.
The truth was, the power Serién had given him was beyond imagination. He simply hadn't been able to feel it properly until now. Before, he hadn't had the stats to wield that power — but with the points he'd just received, he could actually put it to use.
As Dong-hyun approached with the baseball bat, the thugs instinctively backed away. It was an unreal situation. They kept retreating until, before they knew it, they'd turned around and run. Loyalty, to them, was something you used and threw away.
Once the rest had fled, Dong-hyun walked over to the ones still on the ground.
"Alright! Who wants to tell me who hired you? You?"
He pointed the bat at the nearest thug.
"Uh... I... I really don't know..."
"Is that so? Then who does?"
At Dong-hyun's words, the thug's head turned on its own. His gaze landed on the one who'd gone down first — the man Dong-hyun had punched.
"Ahh. That makes sense. Thanks."
Dong-hyun stepped past him and approached their leader. The thug was still lying there, clutching his nose. He'd been hit so hard and so suddenly at the start that he still hadn't recovered — not that recovering would have done him any good against Dong-hyun.
"Hey, pal. You gonna talk?"
Dong-hyun crouched down in front of him.
"I... can't talk."
"Ah. So it's not that you don't know."
Still crouched, Dong-hyun tapped the bat lightly against the man's forehead.
"You won't talk even if I cave your skull in, right?"
"Th-that's right..."
"Well then. Alright. Let's just cave it in."
Dong-hyun stood up without a shred of hesitation.
"I already have a pretty good idea who sent you anyway."
CRACK!!
Dong-hyun's hand showed no mercy. The thug took the baseball bat and went out cold. He'd brought it down so hard the bat in his hands shattered completely.
"Eh... he won't die from that, right? Hey. Come pick up your guys."
Then he got in his car and headed for the office. They'd come to lynch him as a group, so they couldn't exactly report it to the police — and given Dong-hyun's position, neither could he.
When he arrived at the company, Cheon So-hee greeted him warmly. There was something adorable written all over her face.
"You arrived right on time, huh?"
Normally, if work started at nine, you'd arrive thirty minutes early to get ready — but Dong-hyun had shown up at exactly 8:55. Of course he understood how office life worked and had left early enough. The thugs had just delayed him a bit. Unaware of that, Cheon So-hee assumed he'd shown up late on purpose.
"Ah... I had something to take care of. You got home alright last night?"
"Yes... thanks to you. Last night was really fun. I... kind of wanted to stay with you a little longer, though..."
The kiss in the car that night must have left quite an impression.
"Haha. Well, we can always make more time."
"Then... tonight too...?"
"Ah... sorry. I've got something at home tonight..."
"Oh... I see..."
Cheon So-hee's face fell a little. Because of what had happened that morning, he had things to settle with Kang Su-yeon and Son Ga-eun, so he'd had no choice but to turn her down — but seeing that look on her face made him feel a little guilty.
"I'll take you somewhere nice next time."
"You promise??"
At that, Cheon So-hee was already beaming again. Dong-hyun walked past her and into his office.
"Good morning."
He greeted everyone as he stepped inside, but the reaction from the office was a little chilly. Leaving right on the clock yesterday and then arriving exactly at start time today wasn't what most office workers considered normal. Manager Park Kyung-deok looked like he wanted to say something, then just sighed. After watching Dong-hyun talk back to Team Leader Kang Su-yeon yesterday, he figured speaking up would only wear out his own mouth.
The reaction wasn't what he'd expected. Dong-hyun scratched his head and sat down at his desk. Assistant Manager Lee Su-jin, who sat next to him, shot him a look.
"Dong-hyun-ssi. Even so, you can't just show up this late... everyone can tell."
Lee Su-jin knew about Dong-hyun's background, but even she seemed to think this was a bit much.
"Ah... something came up this morning, so I was late. It won't happen again starting tomorrow."
"Ah... I see... alright."
Lee Su-jin accepted that readily enough.
Just then, Kang Su-yeon walked into the office.
