After that, it didn't even take Serin twenty minutes to reach Platinum Tier.
Once she'd picked up four more wins, Serin logged out of Another World without any lingering attachment.
Her vision soon faded to black in the familiar way.
————————
The moment she returned to reality.
"Ahh..."
A groan slipped out before she knew it.
A heaviness that made her body feel like it wasn't her own. A deep fatigue.
Even the act of pulling her body out of the capsule made her limbs feel heavy.
'...I really can't get used to this body.'
Honestly, talking with the viewers had been fun, and streaming while doing Arena had been fun too.
Putting on a show, adding flair to her movements for no reason, acting while anticipating the chat's reaction. Trading words while watching the chat respond exactly as expected—that had been pretty fun as well.
It was enough to make her think that if she was going to play games alone anyway, she'd rather just turn on the stream and play.
But Serin was gradually getting a feel for her body.
Not some vague sense of being tired or overdoing it. A concrete sense of how much stamina she'd have to spare going forward.
And because of that, no matter how much Serin herself wanted to stream for a long time, she couldn't.
She figured if she kept going with Another World for another thirty minutes or so, it wouldn't be strange to see a forced disconnection warning pop up.
'...'
Streaming while playing Another World at the same time was, in itself, too much to keep track of.
She had to think about what she said, and since the viewers could see her Another World character, which looked exactly like her own appearance, she had to be mindful of every action too.
The thing Sua had told her most often yesterday was that she needed to be careful about her words and actions. So she'd been unconsciously paying a lot of attention to that.
On top of that, Rank Duels required a fair amount of focus and attention in their own right.
And so all of it piled up, pushing her shitty body even harder.
"Um... just a moment, I'm going to stretch for about five minutes."
She spoke into the mic like she was issuing a one-sided notice.
She had no intention of ending the stream yet. She planned to hang out with the viewers for about an hour, and when seven o'clock rolled around, she'd try doing that hosting thing for Sua.
[TURN ON THE CAM!!!!!]
[Stretching?]
[Rin's voice sounds really tired]
[fr is she sick or something?]
[Her voice does sound weaker compared to when the stream started]
[How the hell do you guys even tell the difference]
[I mean her voice sounds different compared to when she's in Another World?]
[Just started watching and yeah her voice sounds really weak]
She couldn't help a small chuckle as she watched the chat, which had been blazing only moments ago, completely change mood over one sentence from her.
I'd thought I was hiding it reasonably well, but apparently the viewers could tell how I was doing just from my voice.
Or maybe I really sounded that exhausted.
As she continued watching the chat scroll rapidly upward, she began stretching.
This kind of thing needed to be done right away to avoid problems later. If she just sat or lay down without loosening up because she was tired, the fatigue would just accumulate in her body.
Crack.
Pop.
As she lightly stretched her upper body, extended her arms, and straightened her legs, a refreshing feeling spread through her along with all sorts of sounds ringing out.
She'd recently started exercising to build up her stamina. But a body that hasn't been exercising usually complains of even more fatigue once you start.
Even though she'd definitely cut her game time down to less than half of usual, her whole body felt stiff right now.
But looking at it long-term, it was something she had to accept, so she just had to endure it.
"Viewers, you should... stretch a bit right now too. Everyone watching the stream is sitting in a chair or something, right?"
Still, she kept talking now and then so the audio wouldn't go too dead, while keeping an eye on the chat.
[ok]
[lmaooo what's with all the bone cracking sounds]
[imagining her stretching... damn]
[I started stretching too after hearing Rin just now]
[lol how long have you not moved your body for it to make all those sounds while stretching lmaooo]
[I mean if you sit for hours playing Another World, everyone's like that]
[The rest of chat would probably make the exact same sounds if they stretched too lol]
[I'm watching while lying down lol]
As she watched the chat fly by over such trivial remarks, she checked the viewer count and saw that it had definitely dropped quickly—she was now maintaining a viewer count in the low ten thousands.
Well, most of the viewers had come to see 'Rin' in Another World, so the shrinking numbers made sense.
And honestly, even I thought the broadcast layout from a basic PC-streamer account looked really plain.
The default background given to tweetie streamers.
On top of that, no cam, just communicating with viewers through a single mic.
And since she was only saying a word here and there, she could understand why the viewers might find it frustrating.
Crack.
Pop.
"Recommend something for dinner. I'll chat while I eat."
Once she felt she'd roughly finished stretching, she naturally sat down in her chair and spoke.
After finishing the stretches, she felt much more comfortable. If she did Just Chatting like this without playing Another World, she figured she could stream a bit longer.
[The crack pop sounds were ASMR though;]
[fr now that they're gone I miss them]
[Dinner is pizza~~~]
[Fried chicken]
[Sushi!!]
[Braised short ribs, go go]
[It's summer, eat samgyetang and replenish your energy]
[Naengmyeon?]
Watching the chat scroll by rapidly, she opened a delivery app on her smartphone.
As she did, she skimmed through the menus the viewers had recommended one by one.
The chat had far more options than I'd expected, and quite a few of them were tempting.
'Something easy on the stomach sounds appealing.'
Since she was tired, she wanted something easy on the stomach. Then galbitang came to mind. It was the kind of dish that was reliably decent no matter where she ordered it, so it seemed perfect for getting something delivered quickly.
And just like that, a dinner menu completely unrelated to the chat was decided.
"Well then... as per the viewers' request, I'll order galbitang."
Therefore, today's dinner menu was galbitang.
[????]
[Didn't anyone suggest galbitang?]
[lolololololololololololol]
[What's with the answer's already decided lmaoooo]
[Talk about doing whatever you want lmao]
[Her soft gentle voice is seriously my type for real...]
[She could probably do a radio stream in the evening or morning]
After deciding on the menu, ordering the food itself didn't take very long.
......
Ding.
At the text alert saying the delivery had arrived, Serin rose from her seat and spoke.
"Ah. The delivery's here, so I'll be right back."
She stepped away briefly, picked up the takeout container with the galbitang left in front of the door, and came back into the room.
[Did Rin leave?]
[lolol]
[Don't you think Rin's probably really pretty in real life too?]
[Stop simping so hard...]
[I mean with a voice like that it's hard not to be pretty]
[Hey, there are people who only have a nice voice, you know?]
[Doesn't Rin have a NewTube channel or something? Even just today's Arena clips were all insane]
[fr the view counts on Rin-related NewTube videos are crazy, she should be cashing in on that herself]
Even while she was away, the viewers were entertaining themselves, chatting back and forth on their own.
The sight was somehow funny and also comfortable.
It might be different for streamers with small audiences, but whether through luck or connections, she'd had quite a lot of viewers from her very first stream.
Having a lot of viewers was, in itself, pretty comfortable.
Even without saying much, it felt like the stream practically ran itself thanks to the viewers. In a category like Just Chatting, I really felt like I only had to chime in by reacting to chat and the time flew by.
"I brought the food. My NewTube channel? Oh. Um, I do think I'll need to make one."
For now, she was only thinking about streaming as a tweetie streamer, so it wasn't a topic she'd given much thought.
'NewTube, huh...'
It made money.
When she thought of NewTube, honestly the first thing that came to mind was money.
The main thing she'd picked up about YouTubers from communities and websites she'd skimmed was exactly that.
—Overwhelming revenue.
A NewTuber with over 500,000 subscribers, enough to be called a celebrity, had tremendous influence in their own right.
Honestly, at that point they weren't just a NewTuber but practically an entertainer.
Streamers were similar to NewTubers in some ways, but it still felt like their earnings didn't compare.
On the other hand, since you could do both at the same time, maybe she was unnecessarily thinking of them as different categories.
[RinTube gogo]
[Let me be your editor!!!!]
[lolol I want to be Rin's editor too!!]
[RinTube editor? fr that's guaranteed success, such a sweet gig]
[But doesn't RinTube already exist?]
[Tell us how the galbitang is]
[What's the point if RinTube already exists lmaooo I searched it up and it's some small-time channel with 1k subs]
[fr the more famous person should take it over, streamer Rin is the real Tube]
The more famous person taking it over. It sounded kind of toxic, but she really liked it.
She personally liked winner-takes-all systems like that. In Black Ark, strength was law.
She didn't feel like her current position was low.
"RinTube, huh... I think it could work. If anyone has editing experience or wants to apply, please send an email to the address listed below the channel. It'd be even better if you attach a short video introducing your work and yourself. Since we're on the topic, I think it might be nice to do a stream about recruiting an editor sometime the day after tomorrow."
It was a thought that came to her suddenly, but if it was something she had to do anyway, she figured starting right away wasn't a bad idea.
Sua had set up the banner separately yesterday, so the email address was prominently written on the banner.
And as for the detailed NewTube management or the criteria for selecting an editor...
'Sua will tell me what I need to know.'
She had someone she could ask who would explain it all.
