—[Total donations Rin received today]
Author: Anonymous
(Screenshots of the huge donations that blew up for streamer Rin on August 7.jpg)
- I was watching today's G1 match in Rin's stream, and I got curious, so I just captured the big ones. For the regular donations, I averaged them out and added them in.
Honestly, I just wanted to know how much she made, but when I actually added it up, it was kind of shocking.
- Donations from G1 players combined: 2 million won
- After the donation pledge, 100,000-won donations at stream end: 16 times
- 300,000-won donations: 5 times
- 500,000-won donations: 2 times
- 1,000,000-won donations: 3 times
......
......
One-line summary: Combined total: over 23 million won in donations in a single day
I can't say this is exact, I just roughly estimated it, but it's ridiculous lolololol

"I... received this much?"
As I stared at the countless screenshots of donations to my stream, the words slipped out before I knew it.
I'd thought I'd received a lot of donations right before the stream, as if my pledge to donate if G1 lost had lit a huge spark, but I hadn't realized it was this much.

[Rin's stream always had a lot of big spenders, but today the situation really lined up, and Rin suddenly announcing the donation was legendary lololol]
[For me, the donations themselves were one thing, but G1 players coming to Rin's stream and donating was the most surprising]
[↳ Was I the only one who thought it was weird that pros were donating and saying they'd been matched with Rin for a scrim and asking her to take care of them?]
[↳ For real, even if it's Rin, a pro donating and saying they'd been matched for a scrim was surprising lololol]
[↳ ↳ I mean, what pro schedules scrims with a streamer in the first place lololol]
[↳ ↳ What about Plea? She said on stream she'd gotten offers several times, but she turned them all down]
[↳ ↳ Plea's already gotten dozens of pro offers combined, so whatever]
[But seriously, Rin predicting the reverse all-kill was insane lololol]
[She received 20 million won in one day?]
[Is this real??]
[If you're a real G1 fan, you couldn't not donate while watching the reverse all-kill]
[Who suddenly throws 5 million won at a match everyone thought was over? Crazy lololololol]
[The legendary part was her saying she wasn't a real G1 fan, so if you're real fans, stop trashing the players and team and cheer them on, then suddenly pledging to donate 5 million won]
[I actually donated 100,000 won too]
[Wow, but seriously, the money she makes is insane]
After scanning the comments on the trending post for a while, I idly put the straw of my now-empty smoothie in my mouth.
Reading it made me feel like I'd become something, and it was really embarrassing. I'd only said I'd donate and cheered because the chat atmosphere was so vicious, but too many people seemed to be overinterpreting it and taking it differently.
"...I do think I received way too many donations."
Honestly, receiving donations several times the amount I'd pledged to give was a little bewildering.
I definitely hadn't said I'd donate with this in mind, but declaring a 5 million won donation near the end of the Gauntlet Match and cheering for G1 had, in turn, gotten a huge response from G1 fans.
"At times like this, people really are like reeds."
Just a little while ago, it was no exaggeration to say the chat was filled with sheer madness. As the losing atmosphere deepened, there were so many viewers hurling vicious abuse at G1's coach and players that banning them was endless.
Then, when Kang Hyeok suddenly took down Baekya, seized the momentum, and continued the fight in exhilarating fashion, at some point everyone started cheering as one, and the sight of the chat soon rippling with heated fan messages...
Even thinking back on it now, it was a scene of madness in itself.
On top of that, the enormous cheers of the fans in the arena poured fuel on the blazing heat and pulled me in. Watching the match, I actually felt sorry that the players couldn't hear those fans' heartfelt shouts.
"...Hmm."
I'd streamed longer than usual, and even though I was exhausted like this, maybe checking the community was because some of that heat still lingered in me too.
'I should... donate.'
But the donation thing kept nagging at me.
I'd received a lot of donations today, and whether I intended it or not, a lot of people were looking at me favorably as a result.
I felt like I should give back at least a little in return.
After looking at a few more trending posts, I closed the Another Level site.
Reading posts about me for no reason made me cringe so hard I couldn't keep looking for long.
After searching for a few organizations to donate to, Serin threw herself onto her bed.
Wrapped snugly in the blanket, Serin smiled softly and closed her eyes.

August 8, Sunday, 5:12 a.m.
Even past dawn, Sua was still streaming. Considering she'd started at 7 p.m., she'd already been streaming for over 10 hours, but Sua didn't think much of it.
And the same went for the viewers watching her stream.
She was so devoted to Another World that she even had the nickname "Crazy Bitch" in the game. Streaming for over 10 hours after turning on Another World wasn't treated as anything special.
There were certainly many reasons Yoon Sua had succeeded as a streamer, but not a few people said it was because of this genuine love for Another World.
And now, Sua—the princess knight with radiant golden hair unlike reality—let out a small sigh inside the Colosseum.
"Why... won't anyone play Arena?"
—21:04... 21:05... 21:06...
Even though over 20 minutes had passed since she'd queued for ranked, she still hadn't been matched with an opponent.
It was a combination of Sua's dizzyingly high score of Challenger 8th, the hour when most top-ranked users weren't playing, and even the system settings meant to reduce matchmaking variance.
[No but lololol it's 5 a.m. right now]
[Who among Challenger-ranked players is gaming at this hour? Most of them are pros or aspiring pros lololol]
[But queue not popping for over 20 minutes is kind of crazy]
Maybe because it was past 5 a.m., even the chat was visibly much quieter than in the evening.
"What you Plea-lings are saying is right, but I'm also really disappointed. And there are way fewer chats coming in now—are all you Plea-lings asleep?"
There were clearly still 9,000 viewers watching the stream, but the chat was too quiet.
[I'm listening while shopping]
[Between the BGM playing during queue and your voice getting calmer at dawn, this stream is perfect for falling asleep]
[Honestly, matchmaking takes so long there's not much to say]
"...Telling a streamer who's live that their stream is good for falling asleep is basically a serious insult. You seem new here, so please don't say things like that in the future, okay?"
When Sua said it gently, the viewer who'd called it perfect for sleep answered relatively meekly.
The people watching at this hour were usually regulars, so both Sua and the viewers responding had a relatively soft atmosphere.
And at that moment, the queue suddenly popped.
—Ding!
......
She looked at her opponent and slowly raised her ornately decorated rapier.
Her matched opponent was a spearman, and a massive red light from the technique he had just used was bearing down on her.
Predicting the exact attack timing, Sua used her skill.
A technique one level above Parry.
—Riposte.
A high-difficulty counter technique that requires precisely striking back at the opponent's attack timing and the point where the attack's end is aimed. As that technique manifested from Plea's hand, a massive burst of white light exploded.
Clang!
With a clear ringing sound, the moment she knocked aside the opponent's attack, she thrust her rapier straight toward the opponent's heart.
Thunk!
Then, unable to respond properly, the opponent immediately turned into light and vanished.
—Victory!

Seeing the increased score in her status window, Sua let out a hollow laugh.
"Only 5 points... this is really too much."
No matter how she looked at it, it was too much.
It had taken over 20 minutes just to get a queue. The matched opponent's level was low, so she hadn't even enjoyed it and it had ended anticlimactically, and on top of that, even the points gained were far too few.
Even considering it was a dawn ranked game, Sua let out a small sigh.
"I'll end today's stream here."
So she decided to end the stream and go to sleep.
She figured it would be better to sleep and then play Arena in the afternoon.
[Plea-bye]
[Plea bye~~~]
[It was fun, bye-bye]
[Are you streaming today?]
The viewers seemed to feel Sua's disappointment too, so they didn't try to stop her. Besides, the stream had already gone past 10 hours.
"It is Sunday, but I can't say for sure whether I'll stream today or not. Still, if nothing comes up, I'll probably go live at my regular time...? Don't get your hopes up too much."
Then, just as she was about to end the stream and close Another World to go to sleep.
Ding!
A whisper notification suddenly rang.
—[Jeanne d'Arc: I saw your stream ended, so I whispered you. Do you have a moment to talk?]
"Jeanne d'Arc?"
They were friends in-game, but she was a pro gamer with practically no real connection to Sua.
And the fact that she'd whispered saying she saw my stream end meant she'd waited until I finished streaming.
Putting that thought aside, Plea quickly replied.
—[Plea: Yes, go ahead.]
—[Jeanne d'Arc: You must be tired too, so I'll get straight to the point. It's nothing else—I wanted to talk with you about Rin.]
—[Plea: If it's about Rin, what exactly would you like to ask?]
Even as she replied, Sua couldn't help but let out a hollow laugh.
"Serin... really is popular."
Actually, Sua hadn't mentioned it to Serin, but there had been many people quietly asking Plea about Serin.
But to those questions, Sua had either not answered at all or, if the person seemed iffy, deflected with vague responses.
But now, when even the famous pro gamer Jeanne d'Arc was showing interest in Serin, she couldn't give an easy refusal like before.
Jeanne d'Arc.
She was someone who was extremely hard to make a connection with even if you wanted to get close, and she was famous for showing little interest in anyone she met.
So this was nothing less than an opportunity.
—[Jeanne d'Arc: It's nothing else... How did you become close with Rin?]
