Raid
A raid refers to a large-scale party hunt where multiple people band together to achieve a special goal. These raids take place in inner dungeons—dungeons within dungeons—their nature dividing them into experience-focused raids for growth or item raids aimed at striking it rich. What they share in common is the need for a group of people.
Experience raids typically revolve around waves. Hundreds of monsters swarm endlessly at once, making solo play impossible—you need at least a mid-sized team to even attempt it. Item raids are somewhat more forgiving by comparison. You only have to deal with one boss. But since the rank is so high, you still need a minimum of seven teammates depending on levels. Above all, these inner dungeons are located in the deepest parts of the main dungeons, often taking days just to reach. In other words, planning and executing one is incredibly tough.
"For my level, the pyramid should be about right?"
Taemin muttered to himself as he scrolled through the hunter site. There were various inner dungeons, but the Great Pyramid was the only one in the lower dungeons.
While searching for pyramid info, Taemin spotted a catchy title.
Lately, tons of people are heading to the pyramid, but there's no clear difficulty benchmark, so I'm sharing my experiences as a graduation gift. This is based on what I've seen, heard, and done myself—just use it as a reference. Real raids are always different.
First off, Sphinx magic stones sell for an average of 2 billion each. (Hunter Market prices.) Most desert zone inner dungeon raids go for just one magic stone, but the more people, the less each gets. I figured a minimum of 3 billion per person makes it worthwhile, so I based this on a 7-man high-end team. Anything more, and you probably don't need to raid anyway. But hey, we're all in it for the money... right?
Anyway, here's the breakdown for a high-end 7-man team:
Knight (Defense 500+): 1
Warrior (Attack 500+, no buffs, basic hits. Dragon Crore max.): 3
Sorceress: 1 (Haste, Tier 3 single-target magic attack, Tier 2 AoE magic attack)
Healer: 2 (Must-have skills: Battlefield Blessing, Recovery)
With this setup, even slacking off, you'll clear in under 3 hours. Everything but the Sphinx is one-shot, and if you push hard, you can do two runs a day.
There you go—good luck and succeed!
A deflating sigh escaped Taemin's lips after reading it all.
"Even at best, it's 3 billion per run. If it doesn't drop, zilch. And those specs... Damn, lower rewards than expected for such high requirements."
Disappointed, he scrolled down to the comments.
"What's right anyway?"
Taemin skimmed the replies roughly before opening his status window.
Class:Il-sala-ja (Origin of Ancient Assassins) LV. 25
EXP: 652,000 | HP: 125/125 (+30) | MP: 325/325 (+110) | Remaining Points: 0
"Let's see. With weapons equipped, around 160 base. Hydeger pushes it to 240. With skills up, max attack around 400. Speed hits 160 easy. Defense is the issue... but hit-and-run should work."
Having hunted solo lately, he'd gained real confidence in his skills. The mine's queen and the underground hot zone's Marcus had both fallen to his blade. If he'd taken even one hit, would he be standing here now? Marcus's attack alone topped 400—grazed, and it's instant death. His defense was basically zero.
But Taemin hadn't let it touch his clothes, thanks to blistering speed. That came from Arrainba, sure, but also skyrocketing evasion making his movements explosive.
If I play it smart, this could work.
Pacing the room in deep thought, he suddenly stopped, resolved.
"Yeah. Scout with Heart's Eye first—if the numbers are too high, bail. Even if it gets dicey, Invisible or smokescreen lets me escape easy."
Deciding on a bold solo raid, Taemin calculated potions needed. From desert zone past the great sands to the pyramid took serious time, so infinite skills were key for speed. Info said half a day with Haste; Arrainba should halve that. Two hours. That's over 60 potions minimum.
He clicked his tongue at the quantity.
"60 one-way. 120 round-trip. With extras, nearly 3 billion."
Mid-grade potion math. Invest 3 billion, earn 20—huge profit. But if no drop? Could he recover on the way back? Doubtful.
Weighing the risks gave him a headache; he shook his head hard.
"Screw it. Treat it like EXP grinding and go. Real men charge straight, right?"
The next day, Taemin farmed the desert zone for cash. He ditched low-value drops during hunts—inventory filled in half a day anyway, so only premium stuff.
Five days later, 3 billion in hand. All-in on potions. Biggest single spend yet.
"Big money, but even if no drop, I can recoup 1 billion coming back. EXP will be insane too."
Positive vibes carried him from the market to the corner store for a lunchbox and thermos, then home. He pored over pyramid info before crashing, hyped for tomorrow's hunt... no, raid.
Next morning, Taemin geared up fast and headed out. Grabbed kimbap-wrapped lunch from the local spot, then dashed to yesterday's desert zone.
Entry triggered Arrainba; he blazed across the sands. Monsters cleared yesterday—no challengers.
Blasting past dunes to the great sands, he summoned the map for pyramid location. Touched it; light trails guided the path.
Back on the move. Pyramid was far—expected, but endless light path sparked impatience. 40 minutes dodging massive beasts. At this rate, 20 more to sight it.
Come on, show up.
Crossing vast sands, he spotted monsters: familiar Menos, plus pterodactyl-like giants with eight legs scuttling grotesquely—half newbies.
Taemin dodged, eyes forward. Goal: pyramid only. No time-wasting fights.
But that mindset flipped quick. A pterodactyl freak tailed him close.
What the hell?
Ignored at first, but its speed was no joke—matching his, maybe faster. About to catch up.
No choice: fight. Veering left sharply mid-sprint.
Tail in sight now. He activated Heart's Eye.
Trakeris LV.26 (Normal)
Habitat: Filadia Mountains
HP: 700 | Defense: 280 (Max) | Movement Speed: 135
Type: Melee | Attribute: None | Status: Normal
Drop: Trakeris Beak | EXP: 4,500
As expected, top-tier stats—leagues above desert trash. But his speed edged it out. Focus, and winnable.
Arrainba again, Hydeger primed. He charged the pursuer.
Trakeris met him head-on. Chaos erupted instantly.
True to great sands rep, its toughness outclassed anything prior—most attacks shrugged off.
Taemin's weren't landing fully either—evading frenzy blocked clean hits. Otherwise, it'd be no match.
Pattern read: he stuck right, slashed upward with full force. Instinct ducked its head—split clean. Sword arced, severed neck. Massive body crashed.
You defeated Trakeris.
Gained 4,500 EXP.
With the chime, Taemin smirked triumphantly.
"Punk-ass nothing burger... Huh, great sands ain't shit? One-on-one, I got this."
Admiring his prowess anew, he resumed march—steps even sprightlier now.
