Chapter Title: Why Not Plant Some Magical Plants in the Field?
-------------------------------------
Just talking about the environment around the villa and the various supporting facilities alone took the saleswoman nearly an hour to explain.
To tell the truth, before this, Su Yi's intention in buying a villa was simply that he had money and wanted to find a larger living environment. He didn't want to squeeze into a rented apartment of a few dozen square meters anymore, nor did he want to buy a commercial apartment of a hundred or so square meters and fight with neighbors over the elevator.
But now, after witnessing the environment and various supporting facilities in this villa district, he genuinely felt that this kind of district, where the average house started at ten million, had almost no other flaws besides being expensive.
There was a lake where one could fish at will stocked with a large number of fish, and a forest that produced various mountain delicacies without having to worry about snakes, insects, rats, and ants.
Each villa also came with a garden covering an area of over one mu, and there were no restrictions on what the homeowner used the garden for. Whether one planted some flowers and plants or some vegetables, it was fine.
Even if you made a paddy field to grow rice, no one else would care. As long as it didn't affect the neighbors, you could mess around as you pleased.
And with a distance of over a hundred meters between each building, it was quite difficult to affect the neighbors even if you wanted to.
In addition, the residential area also had public camping areas, barbecue areas, ball courts, track and field grounds, and other facilities in places with good scenery, all of which homeowners could use for free.
Of course, while they said that it was free, the maintenance of these supporting facilities definitely required money.
It was just that all of the maintenance cost was factored into the property management fee.
Take the villa Su Yi wanted to buy, for example. With a usable construction area of over seven hundred square meters, the property management fee to be paid for it every year exceeded one hundred and fifty thousand.
It was higher than an ordinary person's annual income.
But this bit of money was obviously nothing to someone who could spend tens of millions to buy this kind of villa.
Being able to buy services that made oneself comfortable was the most important thing.
After viewing the first villa, Su Yi and Yue Ling followed along to view the other one.
Comparing the two, he still preferred the villa by the lake a bit more, and Yue Ling also preferred that one. That building was further away from the hustle and bustle of the residential area's entrance and closer to nature.
Of course, there were also drawbacks.
After all, being by the lake, no matter how much it was treated, it was inevitable that there would be many mosquitoes there in the summer.
However, though this was considered a problem for others, for Su Yi, it was a completely trivial matter.
Yue Ling was right beside him, after all.
The Elven Race was close to nature, so they had plenty of ways to deal with these annoying little things.
Ever since the night before last when Su Yi complained about being bitten by a mosquito in the hotel, he hadn't seen what a mosquito looked like these past two days.
He wasn’t a procrastinator, so after making a decision, he directly followed the saleswoman back to the sales office.
Going through the procedures and transferring the money, all in one smooth motion.
The thirty million he had just gotten his hands on hadn't even warmed his pocket yet before he swiped away twenty-eight million.
Calculating it, the house he just bought was nearly forty thousand per square meter.
In Jiangcheng's current housing prices, this actually wasn't considered the very top tier, but this kind of thing also depended on the location.
The environment here was indeed not bad, but its location... Saying that it was the junction of urban and rural areas would be praising it too much.
Selling at this kind of price in this kind of location, the bulk of it was naturally spent on the actual living experience.
However, for Su Yi, this kind of place was indeed sufficient for his needs.
He now no longer needed to rush in the morning and evening peak hours to go to work.
On the contrary, his farm was also in the suburbs, not far from here. If he really went to buy a house in a good location in the city center, this bit of money would probably only be able to buy a small apartment of less than two hundred square meters. Not only would the living experience there be poor, but it would also increase the difficulty of his daily commute.
In short, he was very satisfied with everything here.
Yue Ling didn't understand the kind of yearning the people of Jiuzhou had for a house of their own, so naturally, she didn't understand why Su Yi was so happy.
But on the way back, she still proposed:
"I saw that there's a lot of empty land around the house you bought. If possible, why not trade for some magical plants from that world with Princess Vivi? I can help you turn the yard into a garden full of magical plants. Not only will it look beautiful, but it’ll also have certain defensive functions, and many magical plants have special properties. After consumption, they’ll all have some special effects."
"Magical plants?"
Su Yi was stunned for a moment. Before Yue Ling reminded him, he had never thought of this.
But thinking about it carefully, as a member of the Elven Race, Yue Ling must be very familiar with the various plants of their world.
With her assisting from the side, getting some specialties from another world to plant might really be a worthwhile endeavor.
But there was still a problem he needed to address.
"The environments of the two worlds should be different, right? Can the magical plants from your world survive being planted here?"
"Why couldn't they?"
Yue Ling asked in confusion.
"I even feel that the magical energy here’s more abundant than in our world. Transplanting the magical plants from our place to here, not only can they survive, but I even think that they can grow better than at our place."
"We have magical energy here too?"
"Of course, otherwise how could I use magic here?"
Listening to Yue Ling's matter-of-fact tone, Su Yi was truly shocked this time.
If that was the case, didn't that mean one could also develop magic powers on Blue Star?
But after thinking about it carefully, he shook his head and said:
"That's impossible, right? If that was really the case, then why has our world never had mages or warriors like you appear?"
Yue Ling's tone was somewhat strange as she said:
"If I remember correctly, you said before that the oldest recorded civilization inheritance here is your Jiuzhou, and that's only... right, five thousand years up and down*, right? Let's just count it as ten thousand years.
Do you know how long it's been at our place?"
"How long?"
"The Blazing Sun Empire where Princess Vivi’s located has existed for over one hundred and twenty thousand years. Our Elven Kingdom has existed for even longer. Because the Elven Race is a long-lived species with much longer lifespans, able to live for at least a thousand years, our written history exceeds three hundred thousand years."
Yue Ling said seriously.
"Your civilization’s too young and you haven't truly learned how to utilize the special energy in the universe yet.
Of course, even in our world, we might not have necessarily gone very far on the path leading to the extraordinary. With a mere few hundred thousand years of time, I'm afraid that we've only just gotten started on this path. This isn’t my personal conjecture, but a reasonable guess derived after knowing that there are actually worlds like your Blue Star and existences like the trading platform outside of our world. As far as I know, at our place, the lifespans of some extremely powerful Magic Gods or Martial Gods can exceed ten thousand years, and our Elven Race even has existences that have lived for over a hundred thousand years.
On the path to the extraordinary, time is the least valuable thing, and your Blue Star's ten-thousand-odd-year history of civilization is too young."
"That's not right!"
Su Yi frowned and said:
"Although the human civilization’s young, the time Blue Star has existed isn’t short, and life had appeared here billions of years ago. If the power of magic exists in our world, then those creatures that have existed for so long should have some special traits, right?"

*A very famous and common phrase used by Chinese people to describe their own history. "Up" refers to the ancient, semi-mythological past, and "down" refers to modern history, totaling a continuous 5,000 years of civilization.
T/N - Some good world building here. Having said that, I don’t think it was ever mentioned what level of technology has the Magic Fantasy World reached. I assumed that their world wasn’t too technologically advanced from Vivi’s reaction to the MC being able to procure so much food, but now, I’m not too sure considering how long their history is.
At any rate, I call BS about the modern world not being able to detect magical energy. But reading novels need one to suspend their disbelief, so I’ll do that for now. At the very least, this has big potential storywise. We’ll see what the author will cook up.
