Dawn Assault on Beujaken
Amur Duke's legion.
Three groups made up of users.
Their forces were more than sufficient.
-Clear everyone from the area.
"The mages too?"
-Yes, do so.
"Understood."
The mage stepped aside without complaint.
-First, let me tell you one thing. Another group of outsiders has been added.
Originally three...
"So that makes four groups of outsiders total."
Their forces had grown even stronger.
-Indeed. Now, I'll explain the plan.
"I'm listening."
-We'll start with a simple, all-out push. If we can break through, we'll seize it—but I doubt that's likely. The walls are high, and they'll be well-prepared. At that point, have the outsider groups form a wide encirclement. No—a blocking line, perhaps. Block any reinforcements that might come from the Kairon Continent. But divide into two groups each and ensure plenty of rest.
"Rest?"
-I recommend getting as much sleep as possible. That's the only way to execute the real plan.
"You mean... we're attacking at dawn?"
-Exactly. The ones in Beujaken Kingdom are outsiders too, aren't they? We'll strike when they're at their weakest. I've prepared something in advance, so it should work.
Mu-hyuk could almost see Duke Amur's confidence radiating through the transmission.
Something he'd prepared himself?
He was curious but didn't ask.
-Then head to Beujaken Kingdom.
"Yes, we're departing."
-One more thing—keep what I just said secret for now. When the moment comes, say the orders just arrived and rally the outsiders.
"Understood."
He cut the connection and left the building immediately.
The waiting mage and knight greeted him.
"How did it go?"
"Fine. Time to move—come with us."
With them in tow, he gathered the users.
After checking numbers, they headed northeast toward Beujaken Kingdom.
As always, he ignored Kairon users focused solely on hunting. There weren't many fools who'd charge a force this size anyway. Of course, some users defied common sense.
"It's just a game anyway! I can't take this stress—damn it!"
Since death meant nothing, they charged.
Mu-hyuk crushed them thoroughly.
"Shit..."
They melted under the onslaught.
Beyond the vast plains stood Beujaken Kingdom, giving off an imposing air.
"Those walls are high."
"It's a kingdom."
Mu-hyuk sent out Skull Snakes to scout as far as possible.
Soon, Duke Amur's massive army came into view, but the user groups were still nowhere to be seen.
Mu-hyuk turned to the mage with a few questions.
"The other groups aren't here yet?"
"Seems that way."
"Any other orders from the duke?"
"Nothing specific."
"Then we wait."
"Yes."
Mu-hyuk ordered the users to stand by, then bought shields with excellent sub-options, along with gloves and helmets, and began enhancing them.
With time short, he only went up to +5 before checking the situation again.
Two groups had arrived.
One was still missing.
He enhanced the Heavenly Bow and Troll King leather armor he'd bought earlier.
Enhancement level increased.
Enhancement: 12%
He brought each to +5.
Then pushed the shields, pants, gloves, and helmet to +6.
"Everyone's here."
"Oh, really?"
He stopped at the mage's words and equipped all the enhanced items.
His stats surged in an instant.
His summons, influenced by his own stats, had grown much stronger too.
"Alright."
He stood and looked at the mage.
"Any orders?"
"The duke says head straight to Beujaken Kingdom's main gate now."
"Got it."
He led the users to where the gate was visible. The user groups and Duke Amur's army converged there.
Beujaken's defenders must be in chaos watching this.
Sure enough, users were already manning the walls.
"Damn, that's a lot."
"Impressive."
Sung Min-woo and Mu-hyuk glanced casually.
"Oppa, they're gathering more."
Yerin looked worried.
"It's fine. We've got numbers too."
"Yeah... true."
Mu-hyuk watched Yerin's uneasy expression and thought he'd need to carve out time to upgrade gear for her, Sung Min-woo, and Kang Ji-yeon.
Yeah, made a killing—time for family gifts too.
He smirked inwardly.
"Let's go."
As commander, he led the users forward.
At the main gate, he approached Duke Amur.
The other group commanders were there too.
"Follow my prior orders—engage appropriately. If resistance stiffens, fall back."
"Yes!"
"Understood."
"Good work."
The commanders returned to their posts.
Roooar.
At the attack signal, they charged.
"Move out!"
Users quickly formed up around Mu-hyuk.
Sung Min-woo on the right, Yerin and Kang Ji-yeon behind, Gephen and Iron Bear left, Hanbang, Petal, and Extreme DPS after. The skilled users followed swiftly.
"Raaah!"
"Finally, some real fighting!"
"Yeah!"
The excited users boosted morale.
But the walls were tall.
Attacks from above had superior range.
Hostile users unleashed ranged barrages.
Magic and arrows filled the sky. But no one stopped—the users knew Mu-hyuk's plan en route.
As enemy projectiles neared, a gust swept forward.
Mu-hyuk's skeleton army.
Strength Increase
Ally Strength +10 for 30 min
Stamina Increase
Ally Stamina +10 for 30 min
Madness of the Battlefield
All ally and summon stats +5% for 30 min
Nearby enemy stats -10% for 30 min
The empowered skeletons took the incoming magic and arrows instead.
"Chaaarge!"
"Let's go!"
"Woooah!"
Mu-hyuk worked his hands furiously amid the chaos.
Death Skeleton Summon.
Sacrifices were the regular skeletons whose HP was bottoming out from attacks.
He then used near-recalled Armor Knights and Armor Cavalry to empower the Death Skeletons.
The suddenly faster Death Skeletons surged ahead.
With them tanking, Mu-hyuk's group closed the distance to the walls with minimal losses.
"Ranged users first!"
Aiming up from below meant shorter range, but the skeletons' sacrifice brought them into attack distance.
Group 1 users unleashed magic and skills like vomit.
Skills clashed in midair.
Boom, kablooey!
Some grazed past, striking the walls and users atop them.
Group 1's attacks had killed hostile users.
Better than expected.
Mu-hyuk drew his Heavenly Bow amid rising contribution points.
First, Death Space.
Death energy concentrated in one spot.
All hostile users in the area have physical stats reduced by 20%.
He nocked an arrow.
Devouring Arrow Rain.
Targeting users inside Death Space, he released.
Pang!
The arrow split into rain midair, plummeting viciously.
Not huge range, but not narrow enough to dodge atop the walls.
With reduced physical stats slowing them, most inside got hit.
Not just damage—special effects dealt steady DoT too.
Not over yet.
Plenty more skills to show.
Earthquake.
Consumed 500 HP and 300 MP to designate a spot.
Under the walls.
The ground shook violently.
Cracks spiderwebbed the walls, twisting them.
Users atop lost balance; countless attacks struck in the gap.
Poison Ogre, Spew!
The ogre leaped, spewing onto the walls.
-------!
Burtan followed with Ki Wave.
Mages, Tier 1 Magic!
Armor Mages and user attacks hammered them.
Mages, Tier 2 Magic!
Armor Archers, Power Shot!
Skills kept pounding hostiles and walls.
The walls shook violently amid explosions—seemed they'd collapse.
Clang, kagang!
Suddenly, a faint barrier enveloped the walls.
"What the...?"
"What's that?"
Kairon Continent's mage NPCs had activated in earnest.
Breaking the shield proved harder than expected.
"Fuck, what the hell!"
Attacks bounced off the shield.
Meanwhile, hostile fire inflicted casualties.
Summons, including skeletons, were mostly wiped.
No more meat shields. Duke Amur had said not to overextend anyway.
"All units, retreat!"
Stick to the plan.
"Yeah!"
Users pulled back at Mu-hyuk's call.
Other groups followed suit. Confirming, Mu-hyuk adjusted to link up.
He called the other commanders together.
Fortunately, Groups 2, 3, and 4 asked his input first.
"Simple: Groups 1 and 2 as Team 1, 3 and 4 as Team 2."
"Fine by me."
"Same."
"Good. As the duke said, split into teams. Team 2 rests first. Team 1 spreads to block Kairon reinforcements. Alternate every two hours?"
"Sounds good."
"Team 1 moves now."
Mu-hyuk eyed Group 2's commander in Team 1.
"I'll swing left..."
"Ah, yes. I'll take right."
After coordinating, Mu-hyuk returned to Group 1 and briefed them.
"Reinforcements?"
"Yes, block them. Two-hour rotations."
"Duke's orders?"
"Yep."
"Then let's move."
They arced left in a wide sweep.
