Tower's End: Pinnacle of Luck
Life on the 50th floor of Death's Tower continued.
It had been a full week now.
Meanwhile, the battle between The King Guild and the Baekho Family had reached its peak and was now in its final stages.
"Another video went up today."
Mu-hyuk nodded at Sung Min-woo's words.
"Lately, that's the only reason I log into the homepage every morning."
"You too?"
"Yeah."
"Same here. It's seriously addictive, right? Heh."
Ye-rin chimed in with a laugh, clearly on the same page.
"Everyone's watching it, huh."
"Of course!"
"What about you, unnie? You watching too?"
"Uh, y-yeah. Me too."
Kim Ji-yeon wasn't missing out either.
With the same topic on everyone's minds, the conversation flowed naturally.
"But it'll disband soon, right?"
"The King Guild?"
"Obviously. No way the Baekho Family's going down."
"True."
They weren't even in the same league.
The Baekho Family's overwhelming victory.
The King Guild was just getting utterly crushed.
"Wonder when they'll call it quits."
That was the burning question.
How long could they hold out?
Because of it, Mu-hyuk had gotten into the habit of searching the homepage—still logged into Illusion—every time he took a break after downing a boss.
"Pfft, a grind addict skipping the grind to browse... "
"Ahem."
"Well, I'm curious too."
Sung Min-woo fiddled with his hand too.
Ye-rin and Kim Ji-yeon joined in.
All four stared into empty space, swiping and gesturing wildly.
Unaware of the viewers' intense reactions, the four kept gesturing at thin air.
"Whoa, ooh! Brutal..."
"Damn...!"
Then they chuckled.
"Hmm."
And refocused seriously, nodding.
Then Mu-hyuk's hand stopped.
"Huh...?"
It was the title of the top post that popped up on refresh.
Title: It's finally over. Good work, The King Guild lol
It's over?
He clicked it hastily.
Video link here. Check it out lol
Mu-hyuk followed the link and watched.
The fierce clash between The King Guild and the Baekho Family.
The aftermath. The guild master's defeated expression.
The declaration of disbandment.
The members slumping away, scattering.
"Damn, it's really over."
Mu-hyuk's face was a mix of emotions. A satisfied smile tugged at his lips—finally done—but his eyes held regret that the fun fights were gone.
He closed the homepage with a sigh.
The other three were still glued to it, gesturing, laughing maniacally, furrowing brows in focus.
"..."
For a moment, he wondered what the hell they were doing.
Then it hit him.
Oh no...!
The viewers had seen all this.
I probably looked the same.
The birth of black history.
A while later.
Even after time passed, they showed no sign of snapping out, so Mu-hyuk spoke up.
"Everyone still on the homepage?"
"..."
No reply, as expected.
"The King Guild disbanded."
"What?!"
"For real, oppa?"
Heads whipped around.
"You still haven't found it?"
"Nope!"
"Sigh. Hold on. Uh, post 1918..."
"Found it!"
"It's a video?"
About three minutes later, after watching, the three let out disappointed groans.
"Ah, they really disbanded."
"Kinda sad."
"No more? It was fun..."
A proper clash between NPCs and players.
Rare entertainment.
The regret was real.
"Well, something similar will pop up eventually. Rest's over—let's go."
They backtracked, facing the mid-boss, Hector.
You have acquired experience points.
They took him down, collecting the gems he dropped and bones from corpse dissection.
After resting, they revived Hector with Revive and tackled the boss, the Dream Demon.
Gems acquired, but no key again.
"Back at it."
Endless repeats. Leveling up.
Strengthening summons.
Gathering more gems.
*
Before long, the lead group reached the 49th floor of Death's Tower.
Just one floor behind Mu-hyuk.
The lively chat halted abruptly.
The key had finally appeared.
Mu-hyuk and the group all wore thrilled expressions.
"Phew, that was tedious as hell."
"Finally over."
"So, who wants to use the key?"
"We can do it together."
"Yeah."
Mu-hyuk inserted the key and placed his hand on it.
Click.
Turning it, the tower began to rumble.
You have cleared the 50th floor of Death's Tower.
Calculating days entered and cleared Death's Tower.
Clear Rank: SSS
You have acquired a massive amount of experience points.
You have achieved an impossible feat.
You have acquired Achievement Points (250).
You have acquired Kaiyon Continent Contribution (3,000 points).
Your fame spreads across the Kaiyon Continent.
Death's Tower has disappeared.
You have completed the quest 'Clear Death's Tower'.
Amid the flood of messages, their bodies floated up.
Vision faded.
When they came to, they were out of Death's Tower. Not just Mu-hyuk's group—all players inside had been ejected simultaneously.
"Hah, we cleared it in the end. Mu-hyuk, right?"
"Duh."
"Tch, kinda disappointing."
"Disappointing? It was only 20 floors."
"True."
Regular players clicked their tongues.
"Damn it...!"
"We were almost at 50, shit!"
"Arrrgh!"
The lead group on 49 raged.
*
Mu-hyuk and his party slipped carefully out of the crowd.
"Whew, if they'd spotted us, we might've gotten PK'd."
"Pretty intense."
"Heart pounding scanning the area, scared we'd get caught."
Now safely away.
Tension eased.
"Heh, damn. Thought I'd die of nerves."
"Me too!"
Late smiles all around.
"Everyone see the rewards?"
"Obviously!"
"Insane."
"Achievement points at 250? Oppa, that's the temple one, right?"
Mu-hyuk nodded at Ye-rin's question.
"Yeah."
"Whoa, finally getting to use it."
A whopping 250 points.
All into physical attack? A massive +83 boost.
Even spread across stats, +16 levels worth.
"Plus Kaiyon contribution and special chests."
"Not all."
"Oh, title too?"
"Crazy."
"Took forever, but worth it."
No one could argue.
Jackpot.
The title especially shone.
Seemed minor at first, but it stacked into a cheat.
Most viewers didn't grasp it yet.
"Eh, title's nothing special."
Sung Min-woo seemed to think so too.
"Probability up? Luck? What is this?"
Ye-rin and Kim Ji-yeon looked serious.
"Min-woo oppa."
"Yeah?"
"Feels good tho?"
"This is good?"
"Hard to explain..."
"Your instincts are dead too."
"They're not!"
"Mu-hyuk, what about Ye-rin's take?"
"Title good?"
"Nah, trash."
"No."
"Bias cuz girlfriend?"
"Idiot. Think."
"I did!"
"No feel? Even basic: enhancement success up."
"Uh...?"
"That's not all. Positive probability on all actions. Corpse dissection too? Better bones from monsters."
"R-right."
"Bone swaps benefit. Lower stat loss on summons, higher gains from monsters. Better quest rewards. Say EXP only listed as 10 without. With title?"
"Higher chance for more..."
"Yes. Crafting, merc requests, dungeon clears—all rewards get a boost."
Explained in detail, Sung Min-woo, Ye-rin, and Kim Ji-yeon's eyes widened. They finally got it.
"J-jackpot."
"Ultra jackpot."
"Insane...!"
Not just them.
Viewers gasped in late realization too.
