You Mustn't Bully Hunya!
You mustn't bully Hunya! “LikesMuscles was an ID I made with the random generator, you know...” It really was thrown together without a single thought. And back then I was a ‘guy’ just like all of you. To be suddenly stared at like this in that kind of situation… honestly, it’s burdensome.
By the way, everyone, this isn’t a board for uploading your private photos. It’s a game screenshot board.
I muttered to myself, then spoke while looking at the monitor.
It’s probably all thanks to the ‘female side’ Primrose’s looks, but if I’m being coldly objective, it has to be because of the game’s own potential. Ravius Online is a masterpiece packed with absurdly high difficulty, a tightly woven story, and gorgeous cutscenes. Those strengths only came together long after launch, though. Back then the company had zero budget to promote it, so the player count stayed pitiful. At least, that’s what I believe.
“Still can’t get used to this, though.”
Even while gaming on ‘my’ computer at home, I can perfectly feel every sensation from school. “In the old days I used to wish I had two bodies—one for school, one for gaming. Never thought it would actually happen.”
With that thought, I logged in and habitually dismissed the notification that my inbox was full. It’s been like this nonstop ever since the day my identity got revealed.
The moment I grumbled that, a whisper arrived.
When Hunya sent that, I stepped into the next room to greet her. The instant she saw me she perked her big ears straight up, ready to bare her fangs in full defensive mode. I quickly told her I was Haru’s little sister and offered her some jerky. Her tail immediately started wagging like a propeller. She trotted over, snatched the meat with lightning speed, sniffed my scent, and declared.
“It smells like Haru! Hunya’s favorite meat! Good Haru’s little sister!”
Getting close to her really was that simple.
“Hunya needs a healer!”
The guild members don’t know this, but there’s actually another girl in the guild. And in my opinion she’s the cutest Kasif female alive. If that fact ever got out they’d definitely make a fuss. I was thinking exactly that when Hunya suddenly snapped a photo with her phone.
She tilted her head, then announced, “Hunya is going for the prize money! Hunya will win and make Haru buy meat with it! With whatever’s left, Hunya will roll for the limited character in the new mobile game that just launched! Highest performance guaranteed! A must-have for top rankers!”
What is she even saying? While I was still trying to process it, a text arrived from the guild master.
> Guild member PrimordialWish posted a photo on the event entry board.
Huh? PrimordialWish is Hunya’s in-game ID. She uploaded my photo?
RadiationCutie sent the link. The moment I clicked it, I saw they were running a “Greatest Beauty of the Game” contest. Why on earth would an otaku game reeking of pure neckbeard energy hold a beauty contest? And the prize was a measly two million won in cash? In a normal game that would be nothing, but for a title on the verge of shutdown—barely able to keep the servers running—it was actually a huge sum.
Anyway, that damn Kasif! While I was busy tilting my head in confusion she had already taken the picture and posted it.
“Woo-kyak!”
The instant I returned, Hunya let out an energetic shout and reacted with violent refusal. When I reached for her ears she flinched back in panic.
“Hunya has to roll for the limited pickup character in the mobile game! Hunya must become stronger!”
“You can’t sell people in a game!”
“Plus we need money for Daye’s medicine!”
“The medicine cost is…”
It really is because of Daye. The top reason our household is in the red is the loan my parents took to buy this house. Second place goes to Daye. Ugh. Even so, this is going way too far!
“Ughhh…”
I agonized for a second, then gave her ear the tiniest tug.
“Woo-kya-kya-kya-kyak!”
An intense “don’t do that” reaction, delivered with the casual attitude of someone who had done absolutely nothing wrong. As expected of the invincible Hunya who always believes she’s right.
After taking a photo of Hunya, I sent it to the three-person group chat created by guild master RadiationCutie, vice-master Mochi, and me.
This game was also something Hunya introduced me to. To be exact, she forced me to play so she could get the friend-invitation reward.
Hunya, exactly what kind of things have you been doing inside the game? Did you claim to have a husband in advance because you’re a girl and didn’t want guys bothering you?
If that’s the reason, I can understand…
While I was thinking that, Hunya told me to run the daily quests with her, so we cleared them together. When I checked the event page again—
Crazy. I was sitting in first place.
The prize money was small, but internet streamers who wanted to boost their recognition through the currently trending game had posted entries. Famous cosplayers with hundreds of thousands of followers, big-company female cams with over two thousand regular viewers—everyone confident in their looks had joined. Until I posted, they had been locked in a fierce ranking war. Yet in the short time I spent doing dailies I had taken the top spot, and the gap between first and second was enormous—a full four times difference.
Players who saw the results posted comments as if it were only natural.
I know my appearance is considered pretty, but hearing it said like that still makes me embarrassed.
The urge to march over to Hunya and pull those big ears as hard as I could had increased by a hundredfold. I even considered uploading a photo of her so she could experience what she’d done to me, but Hunya is a complete hikikomori who only leaves the room to take out the trash or when I give her allowance to buy snacks at the nearby convenience store. She would hate having her own picture posted, so I gave up on the idea.
“Woo-kyak!!”
Hunya suddenly burst into my room and wailed, “Hunya’s account got suspended!”
“Huh?”
“Suspended for using someone else’s photo! Woo-kyak! Woo-kya-kyak!”
At her desperate plea to fix it, I took a photo of the two of us together and emailed it to the game company.
“Just wait until they resolve it.”
“It’s resolved!”
“…Huh?”
It got unsuspended in less than a minute after I sent the mail? Are these people monitoring my account in real time or something!?
The instant it was lifted, Hunya dove straight back into the game.
“Woo-kyak!”
With the daily quests finished and nothing else to do, she let out a roar announcing she was moving on to another game.
While I was sitting there as usual, a message arrived.
Wow. Asking someone like me—no, a monster like me—to be a promotional model? That’s incredible, I thought. If I were still a guy this would never have happened. So this is the famous “beautiful-girl power” I’d only heard about. I was feeling it for the first time.
There’s no way I’d accept.
I am an ‘unregistered’ individual both in the interspecies nation Serena Union and in our own country. While the female me was gaining popularity online like this, a woman who had become enormously popular on the male ‘Haru’ side had arrived at school.
“An idol, huh.”
The school was holding an event to commemorate harmony with interspecies races, and to celebrate it they had invited a massively popular idol.
“A top-tier idol’s appearance fee must be enormous. Calling them to a mere school event… Our school must have gotten seriously rich.”
While muttering to myself, I noticed the situation on the male Haru side was turning unpleasant, so I said,
“Primrose, who can use magic, had better head to school.”
Daisy is the daughter of the Demon King Damon. Sorcia is the daughter of the Elf leader—basically their president. When people like them visit Korea, ignoring them would be rude. So the school held a welcome party along with an idol performance.
Even if it was called an idol performance, how big could it really be? The group in question was Red Butterfly, a currently rising top-tier idol unit.
“I’m already busy enough trying to feed two extra mouths. How would I know whether they’re top-class or just some famous idol?”
Before Daisy and Sorcia arrived, my life consisted of school, part-time work, looking after those two, and occasionally gaming with Hunya. With those four things taking up all my time, I never had a spare moment to care about idols. So whether they came or not was irrelevant to me.
“Anyway, the important thing is—”
I finally had time to myself.
“Daisy keeps trying to kill me whenever she gets the chance, and Sorcia constantly spouts weird nonsense that drags my image from the abyss straight into the deep sea. It’s been exhausting. Having this much freedom after so long feels amazing.”
It was the first time I truly understood that being alone could be happiness.
Wanting to spend this long-awaited rest in peace, I headed for the abandoned annex that no one ever visited. It was an old building used before the new school was built, so dilapidated it looked ready to collapse at any moment. The place had clearly been neglected for years; thick weeds blocked the path. Yet that same overgrowth made it the perfect hideout where nobody would come looking.
I went there to relax, only to find someone had arrived first.
Is she also an aspiring loner like me? Who is that?
When I looked over, I saw a girl around my age, roughly 160 cm tall, earnestly reading what appeared to be a script. Her clothes didn’t look like a school uniform. And it wasn’t just her—another presence was there with her.
Whoever she was and whatever else was present, it didn’t matter to me. I was about to leave and find another spot so I could rest alone. But the moment I took a step, that other presence didn’t feel human.
At first I thought it might be a stray dog, but it didn’t match that feeling at all.
“This is…”
It carried the same sensation as the magic Daisy used the other day when she smashed the door.
“Why can a human like me—who doesn’t even know the ‘m’ in magic—feel something like this?”
