The Saint Thinks the Heroines Are Cute, But Why Do They All Feel So Dangerous?
I get seriously annoyed when people keep bothering me. If you keep this up, I’ll get angry.
Daisy was spending a relaxed afternoon in the multicultural research room that humans had prepared for the other races. She was lightly joking around with Sorcia and Rose. Suddenly, Rose’s ears twitched sharply, as if she had caught something.
“A scream…”
“You heard a scream!?”
I looked around frantically, wondering what kind of sound it could have been, but I couldn’t hear anything at all.
“There’s nothing here.”
The moment I was about to snap at her for saying something so random, Rose suddenly stood up. Two massive wings burst from her back, pushing the air in the room aside.
“Wings…”
They glowed with a soft, ethereal light. They were beautiful, like meticulously crafted works of art, and simply existing seemed to radiate a mysterious aura.
While Sorcia and I were still gasping in admiration, Rose spoke in a strange tone.
“We need to search for traces where it disappeared.”
With those bizarre words, she immediately flew toward the back garden of the school. Sorcia and I hurried after her when we suddenly sensed a surge of magical power.
“Miss Rose, what exactly happened here?”
In response to Sorcia’s question, Rose scanned the surroundings as if searching for something and said,
“Brother. Yohiko was kidnapped from here.”
The sudden mechanical way she spoke triggered a sense of wrongness, but I didn’t have time to dwell on such trivial details right now.
“Where did they go?!”
When I asked, Rose stared into empty space as if looking at something far away and answered,
“Alaska. That manager seems to be trying to kill Brother.”
The instant those words left her mouth, Sorcia pulled out a cube-shaped object from her dimensional bag and began chanting.
“In the name of Sorcia, I command you to analyze the magic manifested in this place.”
“Sorcia, isn’t that a Legend-rank detection artifact? I’m pretty sure that’s one of the Elf nation’s national treasures.”
“I borrowed it from Father for a little while~”
“National treasures aren’t the kind of things you can just ask to borrow.”
Sorcia simply smiled, showing no intention of explaining further.
“I’ve located Haru-nim and Miss Yohiko. They’ve moved an incredible distance… Following them normally would take at least a full day. Miss Daisy, do you know any high-level space mages among your acquaintances who can handle long-distance teleportation?”
“There are plenty of mages, but gathering them would take more than a day.”
“That would be too late.”
The moment Sorcia said that, Rose let out a small sound.
“Ah…”
She spoke as if she couldn’t believe it. Then her two wings began to shine. With a simple wave of her hand, a Gate opened.
“Miss Rose, Gate is a high-level 4th-rank spell… and you just opened it with a gesture, without any incantation…”
Before I could finish, Primrose stepped through the Gate and vanished. I turned to look at Sorcia. She gave a small nod that clearly meant let’s go. I nodded back, and we stepped through the Gate Rose had created.
On the other side, we found Yohiko unconscious. Next to her was something grotesque, easily fifty meters tall. It had a massive face embedded in its flesh and possessed hundreds of arms and legs. It was eating its own body, and where it consumed itself, new flesh sprouted from the opposite side.
The bizarre sight was so nauseating that my stomach churned violently. At that moment, the monster turned its gaze toward us.
“Hungry!!”
It charged at us, thinking we were food. The instant I prepared to fight, a spear materialized beside Rose. Death itself, disguised as pure white frost, clung to that spear.
The power of death is incredibly strong, but controlling it is nearly impossible. Its inevitable end is always becoming an undead that can neither live nor die, which is why its use is strictly forbidden. Yet Rose was controlling it perfectly, without any side effects, and was even using it alongside an Elemental attribute at the same time.
It was a scene that completely defied every bit of magical common sense we knew.
Rose pointed a finger at the monster and drew a straight line through the air. The spear sliced through the creature in that exact direction. Starting from the cut, the monster’s body began to burn with rainbow-colored flames and cracks.
“Krrraaaagh!! It hurts! It hurts, it hurts, it hurts!!”
The monster screamed and tried to extinguish the flames with its many arms, but the fire refused to go out and continued consuming its body. Looking closer, I realized something.
No… that’s not burning at all!
It was restructuring the flesh. The body parts restructured into useless minerals didn’t regenerate like before. Instead, they crumbled into dust and vanished.
And then, behind it, I saw Haru.
“Haru…”
At my words, Haru turned to look in my direction. I was about to ask what he was doing when a strange feeling hit me. A chilling sensation. An indescribable, grotesque horror.
Haru wasn’t Haru right now. He was something vast. My instincts screamed that I must never approach him. If I did, I would end up just like that monster. An ominous premonition gripped me so strongly that I froze in place.
“Woo-kyak.”
At some point, Hunya had appeared. The moment she started walking toward Haru, I shouted,
“You idiot! You can’t go over there, you Kasif!”
I had a terrible feeling that something unimaginably horrifying would happen if she did. But Haru, upon seeing Hunya, took her hand. Then he licked her face with his tongue.
Suddenly the entire area was swallowed by darkness. In the blink of an eye, the darkness vanished.
“This place…”
It was the abandoned lot behind the human school we attended. There, Hunya was holding Haru’s hand and sucking on a candy like a child as she spoke.
“Hunya wants to eat meat.”
Haru replied,
“Meat, huh… Then let’s have meat for dinner!”
Hearing that familiar, silly voice of the usual Haru, I finally felt relieved.
In the meantime, Yohiko woke up. She looked at Haru and asked urgently,
“Haru, are you okay!?”
“Huh?”
“I asked if you’re okay?”
When Yohiko repeated herself, Haru looked at her and said,
“Um… who are you?”
“…….”
Yohiko was visibly flustered.
Haru had come to the back lot behind the school to rest for a bit. For some reason, Hunya—who should have been at home—suddenly appeared. I had no idea how she got all the way here, but since the shut-in gamer had actually gone outside for once, I felt proud of her. I happily ruffled her hair.
Then a woman I had never seen before acted like she knew me and shouted,
“Where’s Haru’s manager!?”
Completely confused by the sudden, incomprehensible words, I asked her,
“Manager…? Who is that?”
“We were just fighting a moment ago. Why are you acting like this all of a sudden?”
“Woo-kyak.”
Hunya ignored the woman and demanded my attention. I looked at her and patted her head again. Her tail wagged furiously with joy.
“…Wait, could it be…”
She seemed to think for a moment before speaking.
“You got startled and lost your memory, right!? That must be it! Then I’ll explain everything. I am Nagase Yohiko, the world’s top super idol at the absolute peak!”
“I see…”
“If you don’t believe me, look. See this bracelet? And there’s a handkerchief in your pocket, isn’t there?”
At her words, I rummaged through my pocket. Sure enough, there was a handkerchief with the name Yohiko embroidered on it.
“Huh? Why is this in here?”
“That’s obvious! Because you and I promised to share our futures together.”
“A super idol like you promised to share a future with an ordinary guy like me…?”
“It’s a pretty deep story. Anyway, look at this document. You promised to sign it earlier, so hurry up and sign it!!”
She shoved a piece of paper at me and pointed at the signature line.
“Just write your name here and we’re done!”
“What is this?”
“It’s nothing special. It just says I’ll give you two million won every month for living expenses! And the amount increases every month!”
“Really?”
“Yep, yep!”
I was about to sign when—
“Waaaait a second!”
Daisy suddenly appeared and snatched the paper away.
“You idiot!! This is a marriage registration form!”
“Huh?”
“It’s a marriage registration, I said!”
“Eeeeh!?”
When I reacted, the woman who called herself Yohiko clicked her tongue.
“Tsk… If only I’d been a little faster.”
“…Excuse me?”
“Haru, you and I promised while holding hands by a lake under the beautiful full moon, didn’t we? We promised to get married, have three children, and live happily ever after.”
“When did I ever say that?”
“You said that to Nagase Yohiko, the super idol! And now you’re trying to play it off by saying you don’t remember!?”
“Hey! If the human Haru says he doesn’t remember, stop using that as an excuse to keep spouting weird nonsense.”
“…….”
What the hell was going on?
“Woo-kyak…”
Hunya stretched both arms out in a clear “carry me” gesture, saying she was tired. I picked her up, and she immediately snuggled against my chest and fell sound asleep like a child.
“Hehehehe… How wonderful. As expected of the great one. Already acquiring your first human wife. Truly impressive.”
While Sorcia was happily spouting nonsense, I clutched my head, wondering how to deal with this complete mess.
Meanwhile, Yohiko had distanced herself from us. She turned back and shouted,
“Actually, you’re too late! Haru already signed it!”
With that, she sprinted away at a speed far beyond that of a normal human.
“Catch that bastard!”
Daisy yelled as she chased after her. The male me and the female me looked at each other and spoke at the same time.
“What a mess.”
Daisy thought to herself. For some unknown reason, Haru couldn’t remember anything that had happened with Yohiko. There was only one person who might have the answer to that—the former Kasif Hui-nyeo, Hanyuhunya, who had suddenly appeared and resolved everything.
“Hunya doesn’t know.”
We asked Primrose how she knew Haru was there, how she had reached him, and whether she knew who he was. Hunya answered exactly like that.
“Hunya only goes when Haru needs her. If Haru calls, Hunya comes. That’s what we decided. That’s the promise we made!”
“You damn Kasif, what the hell are you even saying!”
“Hunya really doesn’t know! Hunya is going to play games! So stop bothering her! And if you keep doing this when Haru isn’t around—”
Hunya’s eyes suddenly grew cold. In a chilling voice, she said,
“I will really get angry.”
This damn girl.
“The only one Hunya acts friendly toward is Haru, who picked her up. So when Haru isn’t here, stop bothering Hunya. Also, Hunya’s name is Hyacinth.”
“Hyacinth?”
“On the day Hunya imprinted, Haru gave her a new name—Hyacinth. Therefore, Hunya’s real name is Hyacinth. You must call her that during official ceremonies or when Haru is not present.”
I had wondered if her cute behavior meant her old, machine-like cold personality had changed. But no. The way she calculated everything for her own benefit was exactly the same as before.
“Hunya~ I bought you some taiyaki from Yu Daye!”
When Haru’s voice rang out, Hunya—no, Hyacinth—perked her ears up, wagged her tail like crazy, and ran toward him with a delighted face, shouting,
“Hunyaaaaang!”
Her selfish nature that only cared about her own interests was exactly the same as ever.
“But that’s strange.”
At Sorcia’s words, I looked at her and asked,
“What is?”
“Miss Hunya. As far as I know, she was in a terminal condition.”
“…How do you even know that?”
Look at that bright, saintly smile. On the outside she looked radiant like a holy woman, but inside she was a pitch-black snake. Still, I roughly understood. Even at her age, she already had her own political connections. She must have obtained the information through them.
“There are ways. But why is she still alive?”
“Now that you mention it, Father recently told me something about that. He asked if it would be fine as long as she stayed near that human.”
“What did the Demon King say? Are you referring to the youngest princess, Lichin?”
“You… how do you know that?”
“It’s not that I know. It’s just a prediction.”
This kid has an incredibly twisted personality, but why is her brain so sharp?
“This isn’t good news.”
“Why?”
“It means another woman is increasing. Isn’t one demon around Haru-nim enough? Just Miss Daisy?”
“Wh-wh-wh-what kind of nonsense are you spouting!”
There’s no way I would ever like a guy who’s always giggling and flirting with girls like that! I only came here to defeat him! That’s what I told myself.
