I'm a Male High School Student, But I'm Also a Non-Human Beautiful Girl. And We're Living Together!?
The morning bus was filled with the heavy silence of exhausted office workers. As always, the driver let out a bored yawn as he pulled up to the stop. But the moment the doors opened and the two passengers stepped on, he sucked in a sharp breath.
“A-are you sure you’re on the right bus?”
The girl answered the driver’s bewildered question with a voice as pure and beautiful as a saint’s.
“Yes. We’re on the right one.”
A hush fell over the bus as if time itself had stopped. All the passengers’ eyes slowly turned toward the front door.
There stood a girl of beauty that defied human common sense. Skin so pale it looked almost sickly, and slender, pointed ears that proved she was a non-human. The mere appearance of a girl from the Serena Union—a sight rarely seen in South Korea—on this ordinary commuter bus seemed to freeze the very flow of time in the space around her.
“Two, please.”
The voice that snapped everyone out of their trance at her overwhelming beauty belonged to a completely ordinary-looking boy. As the puzzled driver watched, the boy took the girl’s hand in his, as if to declare, This woman is mine.
“Two passengers, sir.”
In an instant, the entire bus filled with blatant murderous intent that practically screamed, ‘Why is a guy like that with a beauty like her?’
Wait, everyone, listen. The truth is…
[We have two bodies, but only one mind, okay?]
Originally I was just a male body, so these blatant stares are seriously uncomfortable. The old man standing next to me is letting his gaze slide down my thighs and stopping right at the border of my knee-high socks. The guy sitting in front keeps sneaking glances at my thighs too. Thanks to all these burning stares, Primrose’s toes curled up in embarrassment inside her sandals. Since I—Haru—share the same senses, I end up feeling just as mortified.
So please, stop staring already.
‘Hieeeng…’
As the stares directed at Primrose grew more intense, I sat her down by the window to at least reduce them a little. The gazes did decrease slightly, but…
‘As expected.’
Now all the killing intent is aimed at me, Haru, who’s shielding her. If I protect Primrose, I die. If I don’t, she suffers. It’s a lose-lose situation no matter what I do.
Since there was no seat with a gap like at school or home where I could tuck my tail away, the tail felt uncomfortable, so I placed it on Haru’s lap. Haru was gently smoothing out the ruffled fur when suddenly the bus jolted hard and crushed the tail on my knee.
“Haaang…”
In a situation where my nerves were already on edge from all the surrounding stares, having my sensitive tail pressed like that made a sweet, adorable cry burst from Primrose’s lips. People glared even harder.
At this rate… Haru. Am I seriously going to get murdered?
This was the first time in my life that simply going to the district office to register our address felt this difficult. Having two bodies—this unreal situation had only begun after the two of us transferred in.
