A Shuttle Disguised as an Elegant Dinner with the Beautiful Girls
Beautiful girls and an elegant meal—a shuttle service disguised as an elegant dinner with beautiful girls. I never noticed because neither Hunya nor Yohiko cared about dressing up or doing their makeup. “You literally have a mirror right there, how could you not know?!” “Yeah… then where should I put this?” “Th-that one!” The moment Daisy pointed urgently at one side of the room, I shook my head. “If we place it by that window, the sunrise will blind you every morning. How about the other side?” “Uh, yeah… th-then… that works.” After a moment of hesitation she pointed again. I checked the symmetry with the rest of the furniture and nodded. “Perfect. Then let’s move on to the bookshelf…”
While I kept chatting with Daisy and arranging everything exactly the way she wanted, I realized some of the items were artifacts no amount of human money could ever buy. “Every single thing in this room is an artifact?” “Of course! Who do you think I am? I’m Daisy, the most noble princess of the demon royal family. I have tons of these!” She puffed out her chest with pride, looking exactly like a craftsman boasting about her own creations. “Ahem! We really are amazing, aren’t we!”
By the time I finished helping Daisy organize her room, Primrose had already finished cleaning mine. It was only five in the afternoon, but we’d burned so many calories moving boxes that everyone wanted an early dinner. Excluding me—the guy—every single one of them was breathtakingly beautiful, so we drew stares no matter where we went. When some people started lifting their phones to take photos, I glanced at Daisy, Sorcia, and Yohiko. “Are you three okay with being photographed?”
“I’m disguised, so…” Yohiko answered like it didn’t bother her, but I could tell she wasn’t happy. She was probably worried her real identity might leak. Seeing that, Daisy thrust out her flat chest and stepped forward with absolute confidence. “Who do you think I am? I am Daisy, the sixth princess of the demon race! There’s no way a princess like me wouldn’t have equipment to block inferior human camera technology!” She gestured at the rectangular device. “Carry this and it distorts the surrounding light. Any photo of us will come out completely black!”
“Really?” Yohiko, the idol, seemed relieved. Being pictured next to me—a guy—could cause trouble if it hit social media. Sorcia already knew about the item and showed no particular reaction. Hunya looked at the device and spoke bluntly. “Hunya designed that.”
“Huh?” Everyone turned to stare at her. Hunya continued, “When Hunya stands still, humans try to take pictures and it’s annoying, so Hunya made something to block it.”
“……” Everyone gave her an incredulous look. I just shrugged. “If it’s Hunya, then yeah…” She might look lazy, but she’s a genius who takes first place in every game she touches. A genius among geniuses. It was entirely possible. “I can’t tell if that’s true or false, but the reason is certainly unique,” Sorcia said. Yohiko burst out laughing. “Hunya is adorable for making something like that for such a silly reason! Her name is cute, her behavior is cute, everything about her is cute!”
Yohiko had officially become president of the Hunya fan club. Well, she really is cute. So cute that just hearing Yu Daye breathe beside me gives me the energy to keep living, and just watching Hunya toddle around going “Hunya~” wipes out every bit of stress I accumulated at school.
“But what meat are we eating? Hunya is hungry!” “Miss Hunya, is there something in particular you’d like?” “Hunya wants to eat a lot! Hunya likes expensive, delicious meat with huge portions!” “Then let’s have beef! Since I’m the one who just moved in, I’ll treat everyone today!”
Hunya wagged her tail furiously to express her joy. The others gladly accepted, happy to finally eat together after so long. “However… Miss Daye, when you’re with your precious big brother Haru, you usually say such amusing things. You’re being rather quiet today.” At Sorcia’s words everyone looked at Daye. Instead of her usual cute, dramatic speech, she only offered an awkward smile. I explained the reason. “Daye is only a room-dwelling warlord at home. Once she steps outside, she gets quiet.”
The truth was that she hated ‘humans’ and refused to speak outside, but saying that would reveal Yohiko felt the same way. Since we all lived together, I wanted them to get along, so I gave a softer explanation. Daisy looked at me and asked, “Hey! What’s a room-dwelling warlord?” “Think of it as someone who only acts tough inside the house.” “So unlike me, she lacks energy when she’s outside!” Daye said nothing. And I knew why.
Monster. Get lost. Why is a thing like this even in our school? Wouldn’t it be better if it just died? You’re a pest with no right to be alive. Why does the government keep dangerous monsters like this alive instead of killing them? If my child gets hurt because of a monster like this, who’s going to take responsibility? Weak? The real weak ones are us for having to walk around with a monster like this.
Daye had always been rejected by humans. Everyone had abandoned her—family, friends, teachers, the whole world. She was constantly bullied, always alone, always the weak one. So when the people she knew weren’t around, Daye turned into a coward who couldn’t do anything by herself. That was simply a normal story in this world.
“Hunya, Hunya.” Hunya urged us to hurry because she wanted meat. We picked up the pace. Then Sorcia’s sharp gaze fixed on one direction. Through Primrose’s eyes I checked the spot Sorcia was watching. Someone was following us. Were they after the two princesses? Or maybe Yohiko? I briefly considered having Primrose deal with them, but there were too many people around. Or perhaps the stalker realized we’d noticed, because they melted into the crowd and disappeared.
Who the hell was that…? I wondered as we walked. Because of the stalker I hadn’t noticed earlier, but the stares around us were no joke. Four beautiful girls, every single one of them a different race. Of course we’d draw attention. Even Daye, who wasn’t a different race, was getting a lot of looks. If she hadn’t been Infected, she definitely would have been treated like a beauty. If she dressed up properly like Yohiko, she would have been a frail, popular pretty girl who triggered every guy’s protective instincts.
Primrose looked at the people staring at her from every direction and thought, I never knew about this when I was a man. So this is what it feels like when beautiful women walk down the street and everyone’s eyes lock onto them. Honestly, it’s incredibly uncomfortable. On top of that, I can feel exactly where their gazes are landing on my body. That middle-aged man walking past is literally drooling while staring at my chest, which is bigger than my frame. The guy in the couple next to him kept stealing glances at my thighs until his girlfriend kicked him in fury. He collapsed right onto the ground.
Enduring those stares, we finally reached the restaurant. The line is insane. We’d have to wait forever. I’m going to keep getting stared at… While I was thinking that, Yohiko made a quick phone call. The owner came rushing out and personally guided us to a private room. The power of a celebrity was real. She must have told them we were coming, because our table was already loaded with beef, fresh vegetables, and tropical fruits. Hunya dashed over like a bullet and sat right in front of the meat, announcing that she would focus entirely on the meat.
“Hunyaa!” The moment we sat down, Hunya started urging us to cook faster. “This is shabu-shabu, we don’t grill it.” “Hunyaa!” She sat beside me and insisted I stop talking and start cooking. While Haru prepared the meal, Primrose fished out perfectly cooked pieces of meat and placed them on Hunya’s plate. Hunya snatched them up instantly and popped them into her mouth. Yohiko watched the adorable sight with drool practically spilling from her lips.
Whenever Haru had a free moment he would put food on Daye’s plate. Every time she looked at him she let out a blissful “Ehehe~” and ate with obvious delight. “Watching the three of you really makes you look like a family.” “Hunya?” Hunya tilted her head, not understanding what that meant. And of course Yu Daye had to say something ridiculous again. “A family?! If you say something like that, my love for big brother will explode and I’ll immediately start planning how to raise our precious future children!”
She doesn’t even have periods, yet she’s talking about kids. I glanced at Yohiko. “Since I’m eating for free thanks to the gift, I should give something back in return.” She took off her hat and sunglasses, revealing her identity, took some photos, and said she would post them on Instagram later. “Why not post them now?” “If I post right now, people will figure out our location and come swarming.” Being a celebrity really is exhausting.
When I had a spare moment I checked Yohiko’s Instagram on my phone. As expected of a top-tier idol, her follower count was enormous. With this many followers, she must earn a fortune. I briefly wondered if Primrose should make an Instagram account too, but quickly decided against it. I hated anything noisy. After that, Hunya kept eating and eating. Daye, perhaps because it had been a while since she’d had good food, ate a little, but her stomach wasn’t strong so she couldn’t eat much.
When the meal ended, Hunya was so full she fell asleep on my back as I carried her home. By the time we left the restaurant it was already dark, so there were fewer stares. I was feeling relieved when I suddenly sensed someone watching us. The gaze directed at Haru was filled with clear killing intent. There was no way I would happily think, Oh, is this my fan club?Must be because I’m surrounded by beautiful girls. What a tiring life.
But then I noticed something strange. The strongest killing intent is aimed at Yohiko. I wondered if it was that “mage stalker” and scanned the area, but the presence vanished like the wind the moment I noticed it. They followed us on the way here and they’re following us on the way back. There are a lot of people tailing us today. It feels like Haru is hated by a ton of people… I just hope the sparks don’t fly our way. I muttered to myself, hoping the joke wouldn’t become reality, and hurried home. That was when I noticed a woman in her early twenties doing an internet broadcast on the street.
She was clearly a female streamer trying to look as cute as possible to seduce male viewers, but after seeing the ultimate cuteness of Yu Daye and Hunya every single day, she just looked like an inexperienced chick to me. How should I put it… she felt lacking somehow.
