“Moo-young! Over here too!”
“Yeah, just a sec.”
“Oppa, can I get an autograph?”
“The movie was so much fun. For real!”
Before the post-screening interview kicked off, Moo-young slipped outside during the break to meet the fans. A few reporters were still lingering, so the crowd was buzzing a bit...
“Thank you. Seriously, thanks so much for coming today.”
“Moo-young-ssi, I’m from the Moo-young Cultural Heritage Guardians.”
“Oh! Guardian-nim! Hello!”
When else would he get a chance to hang out with fans like this? Sure, half the people at the premiere were probably just there for the movie, but the other half had signed up specifically to see their favorite actor in person. And most of those wanted Moo-young.
“Moo-young-ah, we should probably head back in soon.”
“Ah, really? Too bad. Let me just finish this one.”
“Ah! Me too! Take a pic with me!”
“Sure thing. One pic with this person and I’ll head in—got an interview. You watch Focusing Entertainment?”
“Nah, but if Moo-young’s on, I’ll have to...”
Moo-young chatted animatedly with the fans, snapping photos left and right. He ended up running even later than promised, signing a few extra autographs beyond what he’d announced.
As he headed back into the theater, he didn’t forget to wave goodbye.
“What about the others?”
“They’re waiting inside.”
“Makes me feel kinda bad.”
Bora and Tae-seok had mingled with the crowd too, but most of their requests were from curiosity seekers wanting selfies, not die-hard fans. So they’d wrapped up quickly and come back in.
Screeech—
The theater where the screening had just wrapped felt oddly empty now that everyone had cleared out. The lighting and cameras were already set up in a semicircle, shooting prep nearly done.
“All good?”
“Yeah. Where’s the reporter?”
“Over there.”
Bora nodded toward a spot while touching up her lipstick.
“But it’s someone new. I asked, and she said it’s her first broadcast today.”
“Whoa, for real? What an honor.”
“Honor?”
Moo-young nodded with a grin at Bora’s puzzled look.
“Being someone’s first. Anything with ‘first’ in it is cool.”
In the long grind of showbiz, this shoot was bound to stick in her memory. Her very first one.
Bora chuckled and shrugged.
“You’re such a romantic when you stop to think about it. I was worried right off the bat.”
“Worried? Why?”
“If she messes up. This is our first promo too, y’know? Can’t have slip-ups, especially with the live segment in the middle.”
Hmm. Fair point, Moo-young thought. He headed over to greet the reporter and PD where Bora had pointed.
“Fun, fun Sunday night! Fun! Fun Sunday night!”
“Hello?”
“Hiiik—Hello! Ha Moo-young-ssi!”
The reporter, muttering to herself and rehearsing nonstop, jumped and spun around. Cute twin braids, sparkly glam makeup—she was going for a bubbly, bouncy vibe.
“You’re the reporter for today, right? Looking forward to working with you.”
“I-I should be saying that to you. I’m Arem.”
Her voice was all sugar and jitters, her handshake too. Moo-young gripped it warmly with a bright smile.
“Right. Ha Moo-young here. Where’s the PD?”
“Oh, um, over th-there—”
“Moo-young-ah!”
Before Arem could finish, Go Kyung-min called out. He was chatting animatedly with Jin Lim and someone else.
Moo-young bowed politely and joined them.
“PD-nim, this is our Moo-young.”
“Ah, nice to meet you. Jin Lim-ssi wouldn’t stop raving.”
“You’re too kind. Let’s make it a good one today.”
“Yep! Let’s do this.”
The mood was cheerful as they finalized shoot prep. Everyone—Moo-young, Bora, Tae-seok, even Jin Lim—was chill...
Except.
“Hic—hic!”
“Y-You okay?”
Arem the reporter was a total mess. Pale from nerves, hiccuping nonstop! She chugged water and forced an awkward smile.
“Y-Yes. I’m fine.”
“We go live in five!”
She took deep breaths to calm down. The PD gave the signal, and just like that, she switched to a vibrant, crystal-clear shout.
“Fun Sunday night! I’ll make your last weekend of the week unforgettable! Focusing Entertainment, with rookie reporter Arem!”
She threw an exaggerated greeting at the camera. In the empty theater, her voice echoed. Moo-young and the team cheered from behind, clapping hard.
Clap clap clap!
“Wow, thanks for the great response. First, could you introduce yourselves to the viewers?”
Her mic hand trembled like she had a tremor. Moo-young pretended not to notice and stared straight into the lens.
“Hello. I’m actor Ha Moo-young, back as the vampire in Streets’ Sunlight.”
“Hello. Kang Bora here, playing the nurse.”
“Tae-seok, taking the nightlife worker role.”
“Jin Lim as the truck driver. Nice to meet you. Hohoho.”
No audience up front, but the staff made it less awkward. Arem glanced at her cue cards.
“Yes! We’ve got the cast of Streets’ Plague here today!”
“...?”
Silence. Everyone’s eyes went wide in shock. But Arem, flustered, didn’t even realize her gaffe.
“First, a quick plot summary—”
“Arem-ssi!”
The PD scratched his head furiously and cut her off awkwardly.
“Y-Yes?”
“It’s Streets’ Sunlight. Not plague.”
“Gasp! D-Did I just say plague? S-Sorry!”
She shot up, bowing nonstop. Moo-young laughed it off reassuringly.
“You must be super nervous.”
“Let’s take it from the top. Sorry, Arem-ssi! Get it together. No delays.”
“Yes! For real this t-time... Ahem! Ahem!”
The slate clapped, and Arem picked up from the mistake.
“Yes! We’ve got the Streets’ Sunlight cast here. Could you start with a plot intro? I hear it’s a vampire flick.”
“Yes. It’s about a vampire bored of the night life who crosses paths with an insomnia club, and the events that unfold...”
Moo-young calmly ran through the summary, then character intros. The interview flowed smoothly after that.
“Heard there are fun casting stories for Streets’ Plague?”
Until that slip-up. Jin Lim sighed at the PD; Bora and Tae-seok exchanged pitying glances. Moo-young just eyed the camera with a ‘well, this is bad’ chuckle.
“Sorry. Hold on. Cut.”
Arem froze at the PD’s icy tone. He beckoned her over, and they huddled behind.
Jin Lim grabbed a water bottle; Moo-young unscrewed it for her.
“This is tricky.”
“Tell me about it. Can’t move forward like this.”
She was a riot off-duty, but work was work—no exceptions. Veteran pro stuff.
“How much theater time left?”
“About... 30 minutes?”
Jin Lim called her manager and stood. No partitions in the regular theater—Arem’s scolding was in plain view.
“Are you kidding me right now?!”
“S-Sorry.”
“You blank out on the movie title? Screwing up your debut like this—what’s next? No talent? Work harder! Don’t screw over the production. Who grabs a mic without nailing the basics—?!”
Whoa. Brutal. Moo-young flinched and tugged Bora’s sleeve; she squeezed her eyes shut, like don’t look, don’t listen.
“PD-nim, streaming time’s up. What now?”
They’d teased it on the YouTube official channel: Live chat at the set time—ask Streets’ Sunlight stars your questions.
“Ugh. How many minutes?”
“Five. Fake it?”
The PD eyed Arem—tear-streaked, snotty disaster. He clutched his pounding head.
“Five minutes. Fix your face and get back.”
“Y-Yes. Sniff—s-sorry.”
Arem apologized profusely to the cast too, then bolted for the bathroom.
High buzz around this team: Ha Moo-young headliner, Bora dating rumors, rival film tanked by drug scandal...
“Postpone?”
No choice. Five minutes? Yeah, right—from bawling mess to pro.
One exclusive week pre-release, and it’s derailing like this...
“Um, PD-nim.”
“Yeah?”
“What if we just do it ourselves? Like Weverse—read questions and answer?”
Moo-young raised his hand casually.
“Gotta have a reporter next to us? It’s just Q&A—we could handle it. I do Weverse daily.”
“W-Well...”
Jin Lim grabbed his arm in horror.
“Oh my, Moo-young-ah. I can’t do that.”
“Teacher, it’s fun. Feels like a video call. Five minutes? Should be fine. Fans waiting to join would be bummed.”
The PD crossed his arms, pondered, then sighed. Edited for broadcast anyway...
“We’d appreciate it.”
“Whoa, sounds fun. Let’s huddle.”
Moo-young scooted his chair closer with a grin. Camera zoomed tight on upper bodies; Jin Lim awkwardly hid behind Bora, peeking at the screen.
“Connecting now?”
“Ready?”
“Yep! All set!”
Moo-young scanned the screen: 20,000 viewers already. Can’t bail with this many waiting.
“One, two, three!”
Clack—
The dark screen lit up with the cast’s faces.
“Hello!”
Moo-young waved. Bora, Tae-seok—even Jin Lim gave a shy wave.
Jin Lim, flustered by the praise, whispered to Bora.
“The comments scroll too fast. Aigoo.”
“I can’t keep up either. Haha.”
Moo-young fixed on the screen with a beaming smile.
“First off, huge thanks for the Streets’ Sunlight love. We’re mid-shoot for Focusing Entertainment, but let’s do a quick Q&A. Random picks. Fire away!”
Questions flooded in. Moo-young read, answers rotated smoothly.
“Yep, yep. Director liked my androgynous vibe. Full behind-the-scenes on the main broadcast! Thanks.”
“Knew this’d come up. Absolutely not! Never! We’re beyond family—we’re family. Can’t go there~ Right?”
“Just thinking about it gives me the chills.”
“10 million, obviously! Hope it hits theaters at all—that’s win enough. Bora?”
“Over 3 million, I’d be thrilled.”
“Teacher?”
“Me...”
Jin Lim paused, then smiled awkwardly. Clearly not used to live apps.
“Seeing it in theaters today, it’s got real charm and heart. Fun too. Could hit 7 million easy—worth it.”
