Chapter Title: Floor 4. Altar of the Six Statues
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Like a monster gaping wide with a desperate hunger to escape this hellish sewer, the dark staircase waited for its prey.
As I descended those stairs, I realized just how much going deeper underground could shrink a person down.
The staircase to the fourth floor was far longer than any we'd come down so far. It looked neglected, cracked and crumbling in places, and the number of torches embedded in the walls had dwindled sharply.
The sewers had never been all that bright to begin with, but with fewer light sources, the darkness stood out even more.
'Should've rested up one night before coming down.'
A twinge of regret hit me.
Severa's Fuel gauge—the one at max power—was completely drained, and the slime wasn't much better, sitting at just about half.
Neither was in any shape for combat.
Still, something down on the fourth floor urged my feet onward.
First up was the criminal knight Dave had mentioned.
In D.D., I'd never seen anyone form a faction like that or steadily conquer the sewers—an irregular. I had to make contact before he died.
He might already be dead, or he might be hostile to me, but if things got dicey, I could always use a teleport scroll.
And second, the altar zone.
Floors that were multiples of four—4, 8, 12, 16, 24...—always had them. They were a player's main way to power up.
You could basically say clearing D.D. came down to how you used the altar floors.
The special abilities from the altars were the catalysts that made finely tuned builds shine bright.
'Plus, if no items drop and I need to pivot my build, I can swap it out.'
The creator must've wanted some flexibility mid-run, since even after picking one, you could change it at the next altar floor.
Thanks to that, you could start as a balanced warrior with axe and shield, go nuke warrior with two-handers mid-game, then end as an evasion dual-wielder—and that was just one path. Builds could shift endlessly.
Extreme cases even saw crossbow snipers turn full-on mages.
'I won't go that far with my onaholes.'
With Onahole Creation guaranteeing summon items, my most efficient path was set.
"Status. Keep details brief."

My level had hit 7 before I knew it, with 2 points banked.
I had two main paths.
One: Pump everything to 15 for the cost-effective bonus skills, wrap myself in layers of them, and truck through the mid-game.
Two: Max out Charm for summon buffs, invest in Strength and Constitution for late-game survival and sub-melee role.
"The second's stronger endgame... but the first is more stable."
The growing weight was begging for Strength points, but I dumped them all into Charm and dismissed the hologram.
◇◇◇◆◇◇◇ Luckily, no enemies jumped me right as I hit the lower floor, and finding the altar zone wasn't hard.
It was that huge, unnaturally eye-catching room straight ahead after coming down—nothing like the sewer structures I'd seen so far.
Bright space of pale marble, unlike the dingy bricks peeking through the open door.
I slipped inside the massive door to the altar zone without pause, lest someone spot me.
And there they were: six towering statues, staring at the entrance like they were sizing up intruders.
Even as mere sculptures, each one brimmed with an aura of extraordinary might and deeds.
"Whoa... less an altar, more a temple."
In dot form, they'd looked player-sized, but up close? At least 10 meters tall.
And so lifelike—the craftsmanship made skin look pokeable. I couldn't help but gawk.
Making these in reality would've cost a fortune.
'Layout's the same. Well, duh.'
I pulled up my memories, scanning for changes now that it was real. Luckily—or unluckily—no differences on the altars themselves.
In order: the musclebound giant cradling a huge orb; the man with wings on his legs, winds swirling; the boy with sheep and dog, staff planted; the robed elder with arms ablaze; the one-eyed woman clutching silk-like cloth and needle; and finally, the nude woman—beautiful, nothing else standout among the rest.
Details were fuzzy, but gallery hive-mind pegged them as six gods beaten by the final boss.
Yet their will lingered, unintentionally empowering players descending to slay their killer. Theory confirmed canon.
I backed the cliche hypothesis too.
'Anything inscribed like on Severa?'
I poked around the statues for hidden text, but no dice. No hidden gems.
I gave up, dropped my pack, and stood before them.
Six statues, six stats.
By now it's clear: each represents a stat, blessing builds that main it.
Take the Atlas-lookalike, the Ascetic Philaion for Strength.
His blessings: up item carry limits, add one-hand tag to two-handers, five wall destructions per floor—pure power vibes.
Fun fact: that last one sounds gimmicky but slapped hard.
'Walls include floors.'
Lure tough foes, smash floor, drop 'em to fall damage below. Minimal cost, low effort—perfect for speedruns.
I'd used it plenty, but with boss just one floor down, no point now.
Didn't matter. I'd already picked my blessing.
If it flopped, I could swap before leaving the fourth. Light heart, I stepped to one statue.
The nude woman at the far right.
Looking up: pervy details on intimate spots, yet a massive maternal symbol that'd stand as art alone, shyly peaked breasts.
Even for divinity, this level of lewd devotion felt like blasphemy.
Made me worry if they'd sculpted inside too.
Sculptor probably got struck by lightning.
"Damn—how's this a pure virgin? What purity did I know...?"
Charm's goddess: Pure Virgin, Unicelia.
Up close in reality? Total milked-out harlot.
Good lord.
◇◇◇◆◇◇◇ Say it again: D.D. was an all-ages wholesome game.
Low-res dots hid gore or nudity fine.
But my 40k upgrade made me suspect a hidden eroge world.
'Nah, probably that User ㅇㅇ who made Dungeon Gallery Pack swapped it.'
I'd roll with that.
Truth was, Unicelia always being a naked slut hit hard—mind-blowing, forehead-slapping—but damn, it looked good.
I checked my new blessing and gazed up at her again.
Her eyes, seductively luring men without cheapness, met mine.
"Wonder if Onahole Creation works on statues? Tempted to test... not combat-useful, though."
Intriguing thought.
Drip.
Mid-scan top to bottom, debating a test, a water drop hit my nose bridge.
"Hm? What."
I rubbed the spot; wet. Looked up—no source.
Altar zone wasn't humid enough for condensation.
Plus, under Unicelia's legs—no ceiling drip possible.
Weird as hell.
