Isekai Truck, Isekai Truck
Isekai truck, isekai truck. If you think it's cliché, go get hit by one yourself. Ah, so this isn't cliché after all. You can realize that in a single instant.
It was a streak of pure misfortune. For example, the sequel to that giant mecha genre game that seemed like it had gone extinct released on the Nintenduo instead of my Playbox or X-Station. I scoured every corner of the internet for the absolute lowest price on a Nintenduo, but I was so broke I couldn't even afford that. By the time everyone else had finished playing and the chips were flooding the secondhand market, the cheapest used chipsets were way too far from my house. I bought one at a used price anyway, crossed the street on a green light, and got slammed by a truck. No, to be honest, I didn't die right there.
I survived getting hit by the truck, received the hospital bill, and ran all the way home. Then I created my character, perfectly distributing my karma points. You know the kind of system I'm talking about. You take negative traits and balance them with positive ones.
Constraint (I): Otaku — You become clumsy at everything outside your narrow field of expertise. Your thinking turns negative, your personality grows gloomy, and you struggle to connect with others. Total shut-in nerd.
Constraint (II): Low Self-Esteem — All choices become passive. You cannot view yourself positively. Self-worth plummets.
Constraint (III): Lowborn — Except for certain NPCs, all initial interactions with NPCs become disadvantageous. You are poor and born into the lowest class.
Specialty (I): Spatial Awareness — You gain exceptional talent for perceiving your surroundings. Eyes in the back of your head.
Specialty (II): Speed Reading — Time required to learn techniques is drastically reduced. Taking the high points.
Specialty (III): Innate Pilot — Initial piloting stats increase significantly. Does not affect physical abilities. Perfectly compensates for the lows.
I finished adjusting my karma and was about to press the start button when I realized something. My hands were shaking uncontrollably. It had to be aftereffects from the traffic accident. My body started aching late, and cold sweat poured down. In the end, the moment I pressed the start button, my eyes closed.
And the instant I opened them again, I knew.
I'm fucked.
