Chapter 16
Chapter 16
“…Is that guy insane?”
Ian muttered under his breath.
Ran stared at the monitor with a drained expression. Even Levan had gone slightly slack-jawed, watching the screen in disbelief.
Ten minutes after the start of the battle.
Diph still hadn’t fired a single shot.
The battlefield was already heavily tilted.
The high-mobility Titan was cutting through the air with razor-clean movements, its agility carving through space as it tightened control around the base perimeter. Karina Luna’s machine was textbook perfection—no wasted motion, no hesitation, just pure, disciplined pressure.
It was steadily encroaching on Diph’s position.
Meanwhile, Diph’s Titan…
“It’s not moving.”
Levan muttered quietly.
No, that wasn’t accurate. It was moving.
But every motion was so slow, so restrained, it was barely distinguishable from standing still.
From Karina’s perspective, it would look like a stationary target.
“Is he freezing up or something?”
Alang sneered, but Rod didn’t answer.
It didn’t feel like panic.
It felt wrong.
Diph’s Titan only moved when it absolutely had to.
A single step.
A delayed dodge at the last possible fraction of a second.
A minimal angle shift right before impact.
It wasn’t even what you’d call proper defense.
And yet.
It wasn’t getting hit.
Karina’s attacks kept slicing through empty air.
“…Strange,” Karina murmured softly.
“The way he’s dodging… it’s too unnatural.”
