Chapter Title: Savage Village Conquest (3)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
“Kraaak!”
The Savage Warrior’s appearance punched a hole straight through the orcs’ formation. It was mowing down Orc Warriors with overwhelming speed.
In an instant, it skewered three Orc Warriors and swept through the pack of orcs that had been herding the other savages.
“It’s here!”
Kang!
Blocking its path was none other than Rokan. Like a child fretting over a toy about to be snatched away, he’d abandoned everything else and rushed in to parry the creature’s attack.
“You bastard!”
Huaang!
At that moment, the Orc Champion barged right in. Having anticipated the Savage Warrior’s arrival from the start, the Orc Champion had held back from fighting savages, keeping his body primed for battle at any second.
Even so, losing three warriors was proof of just how blindingly fast the savage moved.
Rokan had plunged into the enemy ranks on purpose, timing it perfectly for the creature’s emergence—and he’d been a touch quicker.
‘This fucker.’
The Orc Champion had stolen the hard-won opening from him.
“Come at me!”
Sruruk!
The Savage Warrior answered the Orc Champion’s taunt without flinching.
Rokan might as well not have existed anymore. The two knew each other all too well.
Kagang!
Their weapons clashed once more, unleashing a massive ripple. It wasn’t quite a shockwave, but an invisible surge of energy swept over everyone nearby.
The surroundings naturally ground to a lull.
Orcs and savages alike pulled back from them, clearing out plenty of room.
They hadn’t stopped fighting entirely, but it was obvious they were taking it easy compared to before.
As elite warriors, they relished combat—but they craved the spectacle of a superior clash even more.
‘Not on my watch!’
That was when Rokan crashed the party, slipping right between their exchanges.
“Hyah!”
Any ordinary Orc Warrior would’ve been turned to mincemeat, but who was this guy? Rokan, who’d slain an Orc Champion back at level 1.
Now that he’d hit level 30, there was zero reason to take a hit. Instead, he repelled both of them.
“What?!”
The Orc Champion bellowed while the Savage Warrior shot him a glare. They saw it as an interruption of their duel.
Rokan didn’t back down, though. He glared right back up at the Orc Champion.
“The chief himself—what’s this? I started the fight with this bastard first! You trying to stain a warrior’s honor?”
He wasn’t wrong, technically speaking. Just as he said, Rokan had been the first to cross blades with the savage—not the Orc Champion. For the chief to keep battling it now would be a dishonor, refusing to yield the field like a true warrior.
Rokan knew exactly which keywords would stick with an Orc Champion.
“Krung!”
Perhaps because of that, the Orc Champion’s glare softened just a fraction. He shared the orcish thirst for a worthy foe, and though he still looked displeased, he couldn’t very well urge his chief to break the warriors’ code.
“Don’t back down!”
With those words, the Orc Champion took a step back.
‘Back down? You’re the one I killed at level 1, heh heh!’
Now it was just the Savage Warrior and Rokan. The savage didn’t budge easily, though. The first clash had shown him Rokan’s power was no joke.
“Doesn’t matter who. You violated my tribe—I’ll kill you in order.”
Its battle lust hadn’t faded. Its serpentine eyes gleamed as it thrust for Rokan’s heart.
“Jeez, so hasty!”
Not that Rokan—infamous in his past life for his own impatience—had room to talk. His actions weren’t half-hearted, though.
He raised his Orc Battle Axe and deflected the lightning-quick stab with the flat of the blade.
“Tch, that’s gonna cost me in repairs.”
The blocked spot had dented deep from the single blow. The savage’s power and speed were that monstrous. He’d meant to probe a bit, but at this rate, the repair bill alone made it iffy.
‘If it’d been that Orc Champion from before, I might’ve lost.’
The Savage Warrior wielded a kris—a weapon shaped like a wavy skewer.
Made for stabbing, it was one of the best for playing to savage agility. Tachual, swinging his greatsword, might’ve been at a disadvantage and lost.
Rokan’s raw strength could’ve turned the tide in one hit, but if the champion’s defensive skills fell even slightly short of the savage’s piercing power, he’d have been toyed with.
That was their matchup, though.
Right now, the Savage Warrior faced Rokan. The merciless King of Violence.
“Berserk!”
“Krerrrrgh!”
He could’ve managed without it, but Rokan had no intention of dragging things out.
He’d long passed the stage of honing skills through blood and toil. Wasting time dusting off old moves against this thing? No point. He wouldn’t be satisfied anyway.
“Spear Shot!”
His body throbbed from War Cry’s effect as the Savage Warrior lunged, thrusting its kris.
A single-point burst.
The savage’s strike rocketed forward with brutal force and speed, threatening to rupture his body—but Rokan just laughed.
It was slow enough to yawn at. Predictably straight, too. No skill variation—just a raw thrust, trajectory plain as day.
No way he’d eat that. Rokan casually twisted his shoulder to dodge and brought the Battle Axe smashing down.
Hwoong! Kwaang!
The ground at the Savage Warrior’s feet erupted like a bomb. True to its boss status, it barely backpedaled in time.
But that was just the start. Rokan shifted his entire weight—Battle Axe and all—like toppling a pillar. Gripping the haft like a pole, he slid straight into a tackle.
Murderous tackle!
He snapped up his ankle and drove a powered kick into the savage’s.
“Eup!”
Crack!
Its ankle wrenched ninety degrees—clear as day.
The sheer agony left it speechless. Rokan felt a twinge of pity, but hey, it was dying anyway.
He sprang to his feet and yanked the Battle Axe free from the dirt.
The limping savage’s stance wobbled. It trembled, unable to plant its foot amid the pain, on the verge of toppling.
‘Putting on a show!’
Rokan saw through it. Pure theater.
Instead of biting on the bait for a counterattack, he slammed the Battle Axe back into the ground.
“Chow down!”
Swaaaack!
He hurled two hand axes.
Aimed at the torso and its good leg—no dodging that. The savage hopped to evade one and thrust its kris to deflect the other.
“Dash, Strike!”
“Guhk!”
Midair with nowhere to go, it was a punching bag.
Rokan pounced like he’d been waiting. The Battle Axe swatted the kris aside and buried in its chest—like a club—before slamming it to the ground.
No chance to recover. He booted its head and hacked away relentlessly, like splitting firewood.

[Special Effect]
-[Disguise] usable
‘Well, well.’
He’d expected Conqueror of Savage Forest, but Mastermind was a surprise.
Thanks to the Honored Orc Warrior title effect, he hadn’t banked on something like this—but the system apparently didn’t count the orcs as his “allies.”
‘Just good rep. In the end, they’re still an enemy race, huh?’
Either way, it was great for Rokan. Melee types hated dumping spare stats into Intelligence and Wisdom, and now he could use the special [Disguise] ability to boot.
‘This’ll come in handy.’
A special skill that temporarily altered his displayed name and appearance. Useless for now, maybe—but situationally, very useful.
“Chik! Splendid!”
“Wooooaaar!”
“The rest—grr! bastards—grr grr! Sweep them!”
While Rokan checked his titles, the Orc Champion and Orc Warriors reached a fever pitch. The orcs carved up the demoralized savages and torched the village amid the destruction.
[Orc Camp has won the war against Savage Village.]
[For the next month, Savage Village terrain will change to Ruined Savage Village.]
[Vengeful Savages will appear in Ruined Savage Village.]
This time, a regional announcement—not global. Rokan had reshaped the terrain.
Savage Village wouldn’t vanish entirely, but orcs would hold sway for a while, with savage numbers sure to thin.
‘Whatever.’
Amid the user buzz over the sudden notice and the victorious orc march back to camp, Rokan—quest complete—slipped from the ranks and headed for Steroian.
* * *
“Brought it back.”
“What, already?”
It’d been just a few hours since he’d taken the quest.
NPCs could gauge player levels, so Steroian had figured a level 30 like Rokan would need decent time to hunt Orc Warriors and savages for their blood.
Returning in hours flat left even him stunned.
[Acquired title: Steroian’s First Assistant.]
[You are the first to acquire this title.]
‘Huh, First Assistant?’
Wasn’t it just “Steroian’s Assistant”? Rokan cocked his head but shrugged it off. First-acquisition bonus, apparently.
[Steroian’s First Assistant][Unique]
A title for the first aide Steroian ever took on. Allows identity verification from Steroian.
[Effects]
-Vitality +10
-Endurance +10
-[Detective’s Aide] effect: Movement speed +5%
‘Oh! Thought it was just a smidge of Intelligence and Wisdom.’
Not those stats—instead, oddly, Vitality, Endurance, and speed. Still, solid effects.
“Wait just a moment.”
Steroian took the two vials of blood and got right to work. He hadn’t expected Rokan so soon, but preparations were mostly done.
After about ten minutes of shuffling and mixing reagents, he produced a single potion and handed it over.
“Take this to Matherian in Trinsic.”
He tossed out the next quest like it was nothing.
[Improved Antidote Delivery][Quest]
Deliver Steroian’s improved antidote prototype to Matherian in Trinsic.
-Success condition: Deliver improved antidote to Matherian
-Reward: 3 silver, moderate EXP
‘Graduation.’
Rewards were still trash, but the meaning was huge. Last commission before leaving Kton.
Rokan was ready for the next city.
He’d wrung every last drop from Kton anyway.
Straight to Trinsic for the next phase—close the gap with the top players.
The moment he left the mage guild, he sorted his inventory and prepped to depart for Trinsic.
