The World Is Not Equal
I, Han Seoa, am a seventeen-year-old high school girl. It has only been a few weeks since I started at this school. Three whole years remain until graduation, and I wanted to spend that time in a perfectly ordinary, sweet way.
Eating lunch together while chatting about nothing, sneaking up to the rooftop after class for some time alone, gently tugging on a uniform sleeve and saying, “Let’s stay together a little longer today.” Just imagining those small, tender moments made my chest flutter.
My ideal type was a pure, kind boy—someone small enough that I’d want to wrap him up in my arms. A boy with no dating experience, just like me. I naturally wanted to avoid the frivolous ones. That was my taste, at least.
But then.
“Hey, Kang Siwoo.”
I spoke first, grabbing his arm and pulling him toward me.
“You didn’t do the homework again, did you? Let me see.”
Kang Siwoo looked up at me in surprise. His small 162-centimeter frame was dragged right up to my desk by my hand.
“…Why are you suddenly doing this? It’s overwhelming.”
“So what if it’s overwhelming? Don’t you know you’ll get extra cleaning duty if you get caught this time? From what I can see, you didn’t do it again, right?”
I deliberately pulled his arm even closer until it pressed against my shoulder, then snatched his math notebook and flipped it open.
“Here. I solved everything, so just copy it.”
“…You’re way too close.”
Siwoo grumbled with the tips of his ears turning red, but he didn’t try to run away. He stayed right there, almost leaning against my arm with his small body. The sight secretly pleased me.
“Hey, you didn’t understand this differentiation part, did you? I’ll explain it to you.”
“…Thanks for the explanation, but I said you’re too close…”
“Shut up. Just focus.”
I leaned in even more on purpose, draping my arm lightly over his shoulder. With his short height, Siwoo was practically buried under my arm.
“…I really can’t breathe.”
Siwoo muttered quietly, ears still flushed, but I tightened my arm and pulled him closer instead.
“Just bear it. This is the only way you can see properly.”
I gently placed my hand over his small one, holding the pencil together as I slowly wrote down the formula. I could feel his fingers trembling slightly.
“You differentiate here, then move this term over like this… Got it?”
“…I can’t concentrate.”
“Then concentrate harder. I’m going this far to teach you.”
I deliberately brought my face close to his ear and whispered. In an instant, Siwoo’s neck and ears turned bright red. He squirmed a little as if it was too much, but in the end he didn’t run away. Instead, he began carefully copying the formula onto my notebook with his small hand.
No matter how I looked at it, this was completely different from the quiet, innocent romance I had wanted.
Even so.
The way this small, tsundere brat stayed put under my arm while acting all burdened… I liked it way too much. My heart was pounding like crazy, and I could feel my whole body heating up.
…….
It looks like I’ve completely fallen for this guy.
