Purity Detector
Purity Detector
The demon Amdusias had appeared.
And it didn't take long for him to become a community idol once he started running wild. He had that much personality, after all.
Thanks to that, the players had even bestowed a few nicknames upon the demon.
The first was "Badge of Honor."
To the players, dying to him meant a badge of honor proving you'd cleared the "19+ Mode," while surviving meant you were a social outcast who hadn't even managed that.
Players who'd cleared "19+ Mode" would flaunt a strange sort of confidence and mock the "pure lol" ones.
Of course, no one ever really took that seriously.
Well, some did. But not many.
Anyway, to them, [Demon's Saga] was just a game in the end. There were those who genuinely didn't engage with "19+ Mode" on purpose, few though they were.
And so, as Amdusias became an idol, another nickname stuck.
That nickname was "Purity Checker." It applied more when he encountered NPCs rather than ordinary players.
[Demon's Saga] was a popular game, so naturally, it had plenty of popular NPCs.
Granted, the players were busy teasing and tearing into each other, but they generally agreed that purity mattered.
Because of that, if you searched the community now, you could easily find posts like these.

[So, how many people do you think the Fourth Knight Commander has slept with?]
Five? Ten? I can't really gauge it.
+
[Idk, wouldn't it be more than five?]
[↳ Definitely more than that lol, with those skills and that face, she'd have a truckload of guys lining up.]
[↳ Fr, even if she only slept with a few of those, that'd easily make 10.]
[↳ But she turns down just as many, right.]
+
[I wish the One-Horned Lord would come visit Kyle too.]
Our Kyle here's probably a baby who knows nothing about sex, right?
So Lord Amdusias would surely be moved and leave a ton of gifts.
+
[Cut the crap, seriously lolol]
[Fact) The more innocent someone looks, the more sexual experience they've had.]
[↳ Gasp, for real?]
[↳ Well, if you look easy like you, hundreds of people approach thinking that, so wouldn't the number be pretty high?]
[↳ No, you bastard, that can't be. Stop shaking my world.]
[↳ They might've lost their virginity but the actual number of partners is probably small, like two or three? Heh; haha;]
One thing that stood out, though, was that while everyone speculated about the number of partners,
hardly anyone actually guessed they were virgins.
That was because of a cold, hard truth of the world.
Essentially, "men" had far more opportunities to gain experience than "women."
"Women's" libido was significantly higher than "men's," and as a result, "men" were on the receiving end of advances much more often.
The chance for sex came just by breathing.
Of course, the average "man" was said to have a low libido, but among all those people, a few were bound to catch their eye.
That was reality. And [Demon's Saga], which professed to be another reality, was no exception.
That being the case, players didn't obsess over purity much either. It was a fantasy anyway...
Naturally, Yor was brought up just the same.
He was one of the high-profile NPCs, after all.
+
[Then what about this Yor guy?]
Just my opinion
+
[Definitely more than 10, www]
[Look at that face, he totally looks like he's been around.]
[↳ A promiscuous guy is actually my thing, though...]
[↳ Nah, he lives in the forest, so it might be lower than you'd think.]
[↳ But why does he even live in the forest?]
[↳ Idk]
[Wow, the gallery is disgustingly active these days;]
[↳ Are you a guy?]
[↳ Even if you hate it, you gotta acknowledge it these days]
It was a peaceful and lowbrow community, as always.

Rattle! Rattle!
"Ow."
"Ouch."
The carriage jolted, slamming the wooden seat against the party's backsides.
It felt like the chair was spanking them...
They were on a brief trip, at Yor's request. The reason, of course, was to confront a demon.
In the middle of the tedious and uncomfortable journey, Yor turned to Chae-rin and asked,
"...Have carriages always been this uncomfortable?"
"Yes, since we're going along an unpaved road... Should I have gotten a better carriage?"
"Nah, it's fine. It's just my first time in one, so I was wondering if this was normal."
Well, he'd always been in the forest, so he probably never had a reason to travel far.
He was a Manifestor, so it must have been hard for him to venture out carelessly anyway.
Chae-rin stared at him for a moment.
She hadn't expected him to suggest going out first.
Given that, he was quite bold, considering he carried the risk of "Demon's Blood."
Whether he was confident in his abilities, or confident in not getting caught...
For now, he was sufficiently disguised.
Yor had a thick, wide hood wrapped around his body. The reason, naturally, was to hide his appearance.
Honestly, they were heading to a rural village, not a city, so revealing his true appearance probably wouldn't have mattered... but there was no need to draw attention, so he'd covered up.
To that end, his hair color and eye color had also been slightly altered with "Illusion Sight."
"Is it uncomfortable? Want to sit on a cushion?"
...Naturally, the one who'd cast that Illusion Sight had come along. Im Ha-neul, that is.
It was only to be expected. Casting Illusion Sight did not make it last forever. To keep refreshing the spell, the caster ultimately had to accompany him.
"Ah, thanks."
Yor expressed his thanks lightly and sat on the cushion Ha-neul offered.
Chae-rin stared at that scene with a slightly displeased look for a moment.
She'd wanted to go on a trip just the two of them...
She knew it couldn't be helped because of the disguise, but a faint sense of regret remained.
Because Ha-neul had gone on a two-person picnic to the city before, after all.
'If it'd be like this, maybe I should've picked the Wizard class too...'
That regret lingered for a moment, but she soon erased it from her mind. Chae-rin knew better than anyone that she didn't suit magic at all.
Still, the journey was progressing smoothly, regardless.
The carriage was a bit uncomfortable, but no bandits appeared, and the mood was relaxed.
Thankfully, things between Ha-neul and Chae-rin weren't awkward.
Although there had been that unpleasant(?) incident last time, their bond was too long-standing to become uncomfortable over that.
Of course, they were subconsciously aware of it deep down... but neither bothered to show it.
"So, how much farther do we have to go?"
As they traveled, Yor asked again.
It seemed this sort of tedious travel time really didn't agree with him, accustomed as he was to constant movement.
Even they thought the travel time was a bit long, to be fair.
Over a day had already passed since they'd boarded the carriage.
They could at least log out in between, but Yor couldn't do that.
Chae-rin answered to soothe him.
"Not much farther now."
As she'd mentioned earlier, their current destination was a frontier village.
Based on Amdusias's movement patterns, there was a high chance he'd pass through that village next.
Being a community idol, his location was being updated fairly regularly.
"..."
As she thought of the community, a few posts suddenly flickered through Chae-rin's mind.
A topic that had been trending lately, ever since the "Purity Checker" nickname appeared.
Naturally, Chae-rin, who frequently browsed the posts, couldn't help but see it.
The subject matter was incredibly shallow... but honestly, it was the kind of thing that piqued one's curiosity.
Of course, just thinking about it felt sinful, so she diligently erased it from her mind.
"We've arrived!"
After traveling like that for quite some time, they were finally able to reach their destination.
At the coachman's shout, they looked outside the carriage.
A rural village, far from the Forbidden Forest.
Thatched houses dotted the landscape, and fields smelling of manure came into view.
It was a quiet, peaceful-looking village.
Perhaps the news about Amdusias hadn't reached the NPCs here, as people strolled leisurely along the streets.
Stepping out of the carriage, Yor let out a long "Unnngh" as he stretched and exclaimed.
"Phew, finally!"
He was free from that uncomfortable carriage.
He'd known it would take a while, but a journey lasting over a day was unexpected.
As he'd thought, most transportation in the Middle Ages was trash.
'What a pain in the ass all this is because of a demon.'
Yor grumbled to himself for a moment.
If it weren't for that damned Holy Water, he wouldn't have had to move around this much.
Apart from that, though, getting out of the forest felt somewhat refreshing.
Honestly, coming out like this at all was a rare occurrence for him.
Maybe he'd given himself an excuse to step out like this just to leave that forest for a while.
"Shall we get moving? We first need to see if there's an inn."
As they observed the scenery for a moment, Ha-neul spoke up.
Now that they'd arrived at the village, what they had to do was simple.
Secure an inn and wait until Amdusias passed through here.
They didn't know if he'd actually pass through, but to catch him, this method was their best bet.
So the three of them, including Yor, began wandering the village to find an inn.
To reiterate, the stream was obviously off.
There was no reason to expose themselves on stream when they'd come out in disguise.
Of course, Chae-rin did feel a slight regret thinking, 'If I put this on stream, the views would be so sweet...'
"Hmm, an inn, you say? If you go all the way to the far end, you'll find one."
Thankfully, they found the inn's location quickly.
They asked a villager, and an answer came right away.
"Just be a bit careful. There's some strange Otherworlder at the inn right now. They're saying a demon's about to attack this place and to watch out... tsk."
Along with that, they heard something rather odd.
The news about Amdusias had already reached this village.
Meaning there was already another player here besides Chae-rin and Ha-neul.
"Looks like someone's already here?"
"Yeah."
Yor's party headed to the inn, a little curious.
They quickly found out who that player was.
Because as soon as they arrived at the inn, the player spotted the party and acknowledged them.
"Oh, Chae-rin!?"
"?"
On top of that, the player was someone Yor's party knew.
Not only was she a streamer just like Chae-rin, but it was someone Yor had met once before, too.
Caught off guard, Chae-rin called out her name.
"...Mari?"
Kim Mari, the streamer who'd died to the Owlbear last time, was here.
