A Hard Day for an INTJ
Oh-ha and Park Na-na’s chemistry was fantastic.
They traded vibes so much like longtime best friends that it was hard to believe this was their first meeting, and that pure, unfiltered fun had PUBG fans and virtual streamers alike laughing in genuine delight.
One way or another, the most popular content on Pangea TV had always been variety streams.
A situation comedy built around PUBG had landed perfectly.
But it’s a rare chance. Stopping at this would feel like a waste.
The content was clearly a hit.
Yet this exact result was something Oh-ha and Park Na-na had already produced together before the regression, just the two of them. With me added to the mix, the outcome needed a little extra something or my pride wouldn’t allow it.
And that wasn’t the original goal anyway.
Build a friendship with Park Na-na.
And, as a bonus, with Oh-ha too.
The method wasn’t particularly difficult.
The absolute best way to get close to someone is, when all is said and done, money.
Streamers are people too, after all.
When the donations come in thick during a broadcast, the tension rises and the energy follows. If I planted the memory that every time they worked with me a tidy little profit came along for the ride, our friendship would deepen on its own.
In a spot like this, I have to take the lead.
Oh-ha might be the teacher, but here she was the smallest streamer and had to watch her step. Park Na-na was more than capable of calling for donations, yet her style wasn’t the kind that shouted for cash; she simply waited for viewers to offer it themselves.
“Alright then, shall we start the next round, students?”
“Yeeees. Ready, Teacher.”
“Hold on! We finished a round—shouldn’t there be an evaluation? I’d like to know my grade.”
I cut in fast with a stop.
Oh-ha looked puzzled for a second, then seized the opening and began roasting both Park Na-na and me without mercy.
“Hey, I told you to throw a grenade—where in the world is there a student who throws it at the teacher? Park Na-na, is this appropriate behavior?”
“I just threw it quickly because Oh-ha Teacher told me to throw a grenade. I think the bigger problem is Oh-ha Teacher getting knocked out by a beginner’s grenade!”
“N-no, that’s… Seo-a student, what exactly have you learned, huh!? If you still can’t tell a 7.62 from a 5.56, how are you ever going to get into a good university?”
“Teacher, just a moment. Our president Oppa says he has something to say.”
Teacher, thank you for working so hard to teach Student Seo-a ^^
“No, really, Student Seo-a is… is… perfectly fine. An excellent student. Yes! An absolute genius, a genius!”
The moment the money hit, Oh-ha flipped and turned blatantly biased among her students.
“Student Seo-a gets an overall A! Student Na-na gets an overall C!”
“Oh-ha Teacher! This is unfair. I’m reporting you to the Ministry of Education!”
“Heh heh. Student Na-na, first of all your respect for the teacher seems lacking. Hmm? Your basic attitude isn’t there.”
Teacher, Na-na scored 92 on her IQ test, but she’s full of heart and kind. Please take good care of her.
“Ah! I think so too. Na-na’s IQ is…”
“I have a good head, okay! The fans keep fabricating that two-digit nonsense!”
“Sure, sure. Whatever. Let’s just say you got 92 on the first round instead of IQ.”
“……Annoying. I’m adding 92 to the stream banned-words list.”
Once I kicked things off, the rest of the conversation flowed easily.
The charm of a live broadcast is that it moves and breathes in real time. From that point on, the excited viewers started creating the broadcast angles all by themselves.
If both of you revive and get the chicken, I’ll put up a 1,000 Candies mission for each stream
“Waaaaah! Na-na Unnie. Oh-ha Teacher, legendary mission just dropped. All three survive and eat chicken, a thousand each stream!”
“Our stream’s president is also putting up a thousand for each of us. Thank you, President.”
“Aigoo, hyung-nims. I’ll give it my absolute best to get our dear students home safely and even secure some chicken late-night snacks.”
If my stream threw the first punch, Park Na-na’s stream absolutely refused to let the main base look weak and fired off a mission of similar scale. The reverse happened just as often.
Normally when only one streamer rakes in a pile of missions it creates an awkward atmosphere, but we never had to worry about that. Both of us ranked among the top virtual streamers for Candy donations.
November still had a fair bit left, but right now I was sitting in second and Park Na-na in first, if I remembered correctly.
With missions pouring in, the broadcast energy naturally rose and the streamers’ tension climbed with it. Oh-ha, who received far fewer Candy donations than the two of us, had her eyes half-rolled back in excitement.
“Uwaaaaah! Na-na, Teacher’s coming! Please crawl this way! If you die the mission…”
“Teacher… I… I think this is as far as I go. It’s too dangerous here. Just leave me behind. Sob!”
“Na-na, what kind of talk is that. How could I abandon my precious mission… I mean, my student. Hmm? Don’t even say things like that.”
This round, even if you get the chicken without Na-na, I’ll count the mission as cleared.
“Na-na, it was dirty working with you, and never ask me for stomach medicine or painkillers again. It’s a waste, okay?”
“Hey! You stop right there! You’re abandoning a student?!”
“Adios.”
The instantaneous heel-turn and cold cut of Park Na-na sent the viewers into howls of laughter.
Sadly that round ended in fourth place.
With Park Na-na furiously venting her betrayal rage and Oh-ha groveling, I made a suggestion.
“Looks like Oh-ha Teacher is pretty drained. For the sake of the chicken, how about Na-na Unnie gives us some nice fan service?”
“What, cheer for a traitor? Why would I?”
She grumbled, yet under the fans’ roaring demand she pretended she couldn’t help it and sang. It was a beautiful song that cleanly cleared the foul air left by successive troll snipes.
“Whoa. This is Park Na-na. I love you, Park Na-na! Milk-colored Park Na-na!”
Meanwhile word must have spread that the content was fun, because Oh-ha’s stream—already the most-watched of the three—had broken past 1,500 viewers.
She hadn’t noticed at all until a viewer cuckooed the number at her. Oh-ha fell silent for a moment, then, voice thick with tears, expressed her gratitude to us. It was the first time in her streaming career she had ever hit a thousand concurrent viewers.
“Ugh! Oh-ha Teacher just killed the mood. Gotta do another song. Seo-a, do you know this one?”
As the content rolled on, the awkwardness had melted enough that the two of us had dropped formal speech. I was hunting every chance to deepen my friendship with Park Na-na, so I clung to her with the cringeworthy title “Unnie” attached.
That was when Park Na-na invited me to sing a celebration song together at the important moment.
Is this that one? I saw the clip a lot on FM Community.
Later, once Oh-ha became a partner streamer and grew famous, a certain video would surface on FM Community from time to time. It was the day of the PUBG Kindergarten content with Park Na-na when Oh-ha first broke a thousand viewers. Park Na-na had poured everything into a celebration song, and Oh-ha, overwhelmed, had cried on stream.
And now I was living that exact moment with them.
“Yes, I know it. I can’t sing it well, but I’ll try my hardest.”
A legendary clip that would resurface and get talked about again whenever people started to forget. If I could appear in it alongside Park Na-na, I would lock in solid goodwill with both of their fandoms for a long time to come.
It was a little embarrassing that calculation came first even in a touching moment, but there was no helping it. That was just the kind of person I was.
Still, while singing with Park Na-na, the congratulations I felt toward Oh-ha were completely real. I could now guess at her feelings not as a viewer but as a fellow streamer.
Countless viewers looking for no one else but you. That thrilling sense of becoming the sole protagonist of your own life. Plus the quiet relief that the vague fear of the future had eased, even a little.
It must have been a complicated emotion beyond words.
“I’ll really work hard. Truly… thank you to everyone who came today. And to the two of you as well.”
Oh-ha’s sincere confession spilled out during the song’s interlude like a confession. That, I suppose, was what people called a beginner’s heart.
If she never forgot today’s feeling and kept pushing forward, Oh-ha would definitely succeed. I, who knew the future, guaranteed it.
There was just one thing… missing.
“Um, this is moving and all, and that’s great, but when are we eating the chicken? It’s getting pretty late.”
“…….”
The atmosphere froze solid in an instant.
Ah. Did I just become a T-bastard?
It was a hard day for an INTJ.
