The Bang-sel Salesgirl
The time spent hearing everyone's thoughts on forming the crew was brief.
A shame, maybe — but I still had something far more important left to do.
I decided to throw a light event for the viewers in each of our rooms.
Its name: the Crew Name Contest!
The winner would get a chicken gift certificate.
Just what kind of name would our crew end up with?
I set that little spark of anticipation aside and told Miho and Lucy to take Mayo with them, then shooed all three out. They could go bond among themselves for a while.
Only once everyone had cleared out could I finally run today's main event.
Before kicking it off, I offered an apology to the starving wallet that had suffered so much under me.
Sorry you got stuck with such a lousy owner. You've been hungry, haven't you? Today I'm going to feed you properly.
It might have looked like I was making a scene over nothing, but nothing in this world was more sensitive than money.
The moment you leave your parents and start earning for yourself, you understand exactly what that means.
Lately the spending's been way too high. A million won still outstanding to the freelancers, next month's rent, living expenses on top of that…
I needed one clean haul today if I was going to lock down any kind of spending plan going forward.
For the time being, big-ticket content like concerts was strictly off-limits.
But that didn't mean I could just sit around doing nothing, either.
Christmas is right around the corner. We'll at least need to produce one crew song video by then. And that means more money again.
Money, money, money!
In the end, the world ran on cash.
Depending on how much I pulled in today, the plans I'd laid out would shift. Aggressive investment versus a stretch of defensive play.
Honestly, I wanted to bet on the former.
Rena World opened in about a month. Until then, I had to bulk up my weight class as much as possible.
So today, I'm going to earn like hell.
This was the first official collection day I'd opened since debuting.
Even if I got flamed for it, today I was going full power.
To use a streamer-exclusive item, I paid for stickers and then bought Send Mobile Notification.
That item let you push a custom alert message to every viewer who had favorited your channel.
I hesitated for a second, then hypnotized myself.
Today, I was a money-grubber.
I gritted my teeth and wrote the message.
A teasing little message designed to set the fans' imaginations on fire.
Not even ten seconds after I sent it, the viewer count started exploding.
My current favorite count sat at 5,167 — slightly above even the Freeca members at the absolute top of the virtual scene. The only virtual streamer ranked higher than me was Rena-ttang.
The chat window went completely feral. Matching its pace, the viewer count climbed at a terrifying rate.
The high point during the crew interview content had been around 1,800. Right now the number had already blown past 3,500.
Men, I swear…
A species that could make you feel bleak just by existing as a gender. But I understood. Before the regression, I'd been one of them too.
Keeping a light hand on the runaway chat, I changed the stream title.
Seo-a's First Bang-sel — day
#Virtual #Stocks #Rookie #Talk #Bang-sel
One of the highest name recognitions among virtual streamers. The sheer rarity of bang-sel stock that had never once been released. It was more than enough to set the viewers on fire.
I let the silence hang a little longer, pulling their anticipation even higher. And the moment it hit its peak, I abruptly launched the PPT file.
"First, I'd like to offer my gratitude to everyone who came out for Lovely Seo-a's Bang-sel Sales Event. Ah! So many humble people gathered in such a precious place! Ahem — just kidding. Before anything else, let me explain why I suddenly decided to sell bang-sel. Please look over here."
I flipped to the next PPT page, which laid out the costs of the concert I'd put on during the Wooga-dol audition's third-round stage.
Avatar costumes, VRC map production, illustrations, video editing, vocal training, concert filming, overall direction — every kind of labor fee. Roughly over 7.8 million won in total.
"Aaaah! President, loyalty loyalty! Thank you so much. Honestly, even this cost came out cheap because my connections helped me slash the labor fees a lot. But sadly, the fact that my bank account is now a hollow shell is very real."
Airling out a pathetic wallet situation was genuinely embarrassing — but I was a streamer. For the sake of a good broadcast angle, that level of shame meant nothing.
And by openly dumping the internal finances this cleanly, I could also head off the hyenas who might try to force a bad-faith narrative. The ones who'd claim Seo-a had lost her original spirit the second she started selling bang-sel, or try to slap a serious money-grubber frame on me and turn me into a public dislike magnet.
The streaming scene is the wild. Hyena types are everywhere, so you always have to stay sharp.
Keeping that vigilance close even today, I smoothly advanced to the next page.
This one displayed the Pangea TV stock I'd recently bought.
"Someone out there is probably saying this right now. 'Huh? If your wallet's that bad, why not just sell the Pangea TV shares you bought the other day?' No. Absolutely not."
Thud—!
I deliberately slammed the desk once for the sound, then spoke in a solemn voice.
"I am Seo-a, Pangea TV's one and only pure-blood virtual. I bought Pangea TV stock with the resolve to bury my bones on this platform. This burning devotion to Pangea TV — even if I go hungry, I will never let it go. Pangea TV to the moon, let's gooooo!"
I already knew it was going to climb further. There was no way I was touching those shares.
One by one, I unveiled the prepared PPT materials and secured the justification for selling bang-sel today. Lay the groundwork like this first, and even if I went a little shamelessly money-grubbing afterward, the viewers would cut me some slack.
"Alright. From this point on, I'll show you samples of the bang-sel I'm selling today. Ta-da! Everyone focus. This is not an opportunity that comes around every day."
I quickly set a tension-building BGM.
Whew. I was a little nervous.
For today, I'd shaken every last speck of dust out of my empty wallet to place the commissions. Ordinary bang-sel? I rejected that from the start. To stay ahead of the other virtuals, I couldn't afford to spare any effort.
"First up is the Normal (N) grade."
The first sample revealed — the N-grade bang-sel — was about on par with what other virtuals put out. Shot against the VRC concert map, cropped mainly on the upper body so the face showed clearly. A soft smile toward the camera, fingers forming a V. In the lower right corner: a clean date, a small blank space in the middle, and a signature.
"In this empty space here, I'll write the nickname of whoever purchases the bang-sel. The unit price for this one is 1,000 Candies. And next up for reveal — the Rare (R) grade!"
The moment the Rare-grade bang-sel sample followed the Normal one, the viewers reeled at a system beyond anything they'd imagined.
Heh heh. It's not over yet, you fools.
I'll show you what a true money-grubber looks like.
