The Pangea Gallery Conspiracy
The bang-sel shoot went more smoothly than I'd expected.
Bantering back and forth with the buyers locked in a solid broadcast angle, and even the people who hadn't bought anything this round still threw themselves into chat — figuring they might be future customers themselves.
When the viewer count climbs, this is what you call a free win.
Truth is, no matter how good a streamer's ad-libs are or how silver their tongue, you can't hit a home run with every single back-and-forth. Take baseball as a blunt example. A .300 batting average already gets you called a success, right? Satisfying the audience every single time is just that hard. And there are whole territories where pure personal skill simply can't reach, no matter how hard you try. In that situation, a streamer's only real lifeline is the chat window.
Picking up the funny chats well — that's a streamer's skill too.
When the streamer reacts well, the viewer who typed it feels proud and entertained, which makes them participate even harder — a virtuous cycle. Walk into a stream with dead chat sometime. The atmosphere is pure hell. Even the streamer gets exhausted talking to themselves, tension bottoms out, and then everyone gets too self-conscious to type anything at all. That vicious cycle, over and over. Which is why even viewers who aren't hardcore fans — the ones who just keep the chat moving — are precious.
"……."
Do I have to call even these chats precious?
Still, this much activity meant today's stream energy was properly alive. We kept shooting, swapping outfits and locations. For the SSR-grade bang-sels, I even let them pick the costume themselves. You need that kind of perk if you want them spinning the roulette hard next time too.
"……."
Have these people been treating the stuff I sold on the roulette like 19+ bang-sels this whole time?
I held up my index finger — universal sign for cut the crap. Hah. If my middle finger still worked properly, I'd have given them something much more decisive.
Meanwhile, a thought crossed my mind. I'd heard that the real high-level foxes — the ones who play the game for keeps — "accidentally" flash their panties in situations like this. Like they just happened to mess up while changing outfits.
Hmm? Who exactly does that?
Who else? Miho, currently walking the 19+ sexy line by carefully testing every boundary, was the main character of that particular story. There was definitely solid demand for that approach. It was a survival strategy, so I'd just told her to watch the heat level. Get snagged by the admins — the Pangea Police — and the warning points stack up, you lose the Best Streamer badge, and if it goes further you eat a suspension.
"I-it's done!"
"Aigoo. You worked hard."
"Let me know the second the first-pass edit is finished."
"Yes, yes. I'll wrap it up quick and get back to you."
It must have taken nearly four hours. Good thing we finished before the full-tracker runtime ran out. Pros really are pros. If I'd shot this alone, with this many winners, it would've taken several times longer — not counting the editing and gif production on top.
"For the bang-sels, once the first-pass edit is out we'll go through feedback and rework… roughly, I should be able to upload them to the station within next week. Whew! Ten-minute break, then we jump straight into the ten-second voice recordings."
The ten-second voice recording — this roulette's prize — had originally been conceived as a morning call. But locking the use-case to morning calls alone felt a little bland. So I kept the ten-second limit and opened up the purpose. Of course, as explained beforehand, 19+ lines and the like were off the table.
"Ugh… stiff. I'm back. Let's get to work again."
"People who keep making cigarette jokes, tone it down before you catch a cigarette slap. And I have no idea what a 'community' even is… ahem, never heard of it. Also, no Minecraft plans today."
I cleaned up the chat window in a flash and went straight into recording prep. Homework gets done fast, or it doesn't get done.
For the recording lines, I'd put up an application post on the station board and had people write them in the comments, so there was no annoying process of giving them time to think or anything.
"Alright, let's check the first application. This is JustRightThat's comment."
Wishing not to have so much as a speck of shame
toward heaven until the day I die,
I suffered even from the wind rustling the leaves.
With a heart that sings of the stars,
I shall love all things that are dying.
And I must walk the road that has been given to me.
Tonight, again, the wind brushes past the stars.
"…… Excuse me? Are you trying to make me do a poetry reading right now? No, this is not it. JustRightThat, come out and explain yourself."
"No no, not that kind of explanation — this is a ten-second voice recording. Do you actually want this? And looking at it, this is easily going to take over twenty seconds."
"……."
Look at this guy.
Right out of the gate, a black-consumer appearance that was anything but easy. Hah. But I'm a pro. I took the money, so I do the job. It was a tricky mission, but after about three attempts I managed to finish the recording cleanly.
"Heh heh… is that all you've got? Next!"
I faltered a few times from pure secondhand embarrassment at the viewers cackling nonstop, but if I couldn't handle this much I never would have started streaming in the first place.
"Magical Girl Kawaii Lovely Zukyung-Dokyung Bakyung-Bukyung Luluping"
⟨ Make a contract with me and become a magical girl! ⟩
"Huh?"
"Huh?!"
The real trials had begun.
eyes rolled back so hard she rushed to finish her homework just to do it again
look at her turning on stream to do homework money-obsessed freak is wild lmao;;
fr I wanna wreck them but is there a way?
wasn't this one the feminist who got caught and kicked out of Freeca?
if she passes the interview just link them and push Seo-a as a feminist too
Look at these bastards.
The Pangea Gallery scum I'd thought had quieted down a bit since the Mi○t incident. Before I knew it, they were casually cooking up another conspiracy. This time, it looked like they were trying to manufacture a hit piece using Na-ro-si.
Honestly, these people have nothing better to do. If they'd put this kind of effort into studying, they'd have gotten into Seoul National.
I'd just finished the voice recordings, a complete wreck, and was resting after ending the stream when a note arrived. The same secondary account that had tipped me off about a Pangea Gallery plot last time. So I went to lurk on the gallery just in case — and this was what was going on.
She already has the materials from when she did the explanation stream, so there's nothing that should actually be a problem… no. Wait. This might actually be a good opportunity?
I slowly scrolled through the Pangea Gallery posts and started collecting evidence. The thought had hit me that, long-term, it would be better to break the nose of these scum who kept crawling back up.
I used to get called a community addict myself, back in the day.
Not that I'd ever been active in a toxic gallery. But for the first time in a long while, the soul of a gallery warrior was burning bright.
