Yu Seona's Fury
In the short span after Park Na-na's announcement, the rest of the Decrescendo crew posted their own notices one after another, declaring they would be off air for the day.
The chaos showed no sign of ending.
Communities and fan cafes alike were in an uproar, everyone desperate for someone—anyone—to turn on a stream and explain what was actually going on.
But with the entire crew on hiatus, that was impossible, and an ominous mood began to settle over the fans.
The underground galleries, on the other hand, were having the time of their lives.
Until now they had been walking on eggshells around Decrescendo's aggressive fandom. And now this free meal had just dropped into their laps?
They pounced, spinning wild conspiracy novels out of pure brainrot speculation.
This is just Park Na-na throwing a tantrum because she alone couldn't ride the coattails and blowing up the whole crew lol Look, Muyo hit 10k viewers with Oh Yeong-jun, and Elsa and Seol Pyo-woo are blowing up hard off Kim Hak-do's coattails. Baiyo's doing fine too. Park Na-na's just a vicious Korean bitch who couldn't handle the jealousy
Fandoms from rival crews that had been suppressed under Decrescendo's dominance came pouring out in droves to attack.
The Decrescendo fandom, already in a fragile mental state after Park Na-na's departure, soon snapped back with pure spite and started fighting.
The underground galleries had become a complete free-for-all of pure chaos.
I savored the long-overdue dopamine hit while growing even more excited for tomorrow.
Today is barely the opening skirmish and it's already this intense? Then what about tomorrow?
The main event of the Decrescendo incident was still waiting for tomorrow.
January 1st, Sunday.
Park Na-na's withdrawal announcement was definitely the biggest issue among the virtual streamer crowd, but the streaming world was vast.
Plenty of other stories were unfolding as well.
Take, for example, the moves of Yu Seona—a mid-tier streamer on Pangea TV and the producer of V-topia.
Yu Seona herself was a veteran of over eight years in the streaming scene.
She had been reading the recent flow of the virtual scene carefully.
That Minecraft server called Rena World is blowing up, right? Ani and Su-ppi and Na-nyang are all in there, and more importantly Hak-do and Bong-sik have connections too.
All of them were streamers within Yu Seona's network.
That was why she could be certain of the influence they carried.
Rena World was clearly going to become the next big thing.
And two of our own friends are already in Rena World anyway.
Among the V-topia members, Ppo-geum and Han Se-bin were already active in Rena World.
Recently Choi Eun-bin and the other friends had started showing interest in Minecraft as well.
And the timing was perfect—Rena World was currently recruiting new residents.
The only disappointing part was the number of spots.
Citing server stability, the announcement said they would select only two people out of the countless applicants.
But then there was the "Taesan Track"—streamers with real weight got a free pass regardless of the numbers. It was both realistic and hilarious.
If it were me…
Yu Seona had full confidence in her own standing.
She was a proper Partner streamer with no shortage of viewers or Candy power, and her connections were formidable.
If they were putting that much weight on status with something like the "Taesan Track," wouldn't her words carry some weight?
With that thought, Yu Seona entered Rena-ttang's stream.
Rena-ttang happened to be looking through the residency application comments and chatting with her viewers about various things.
"This time I really need to pick applicants who actually care about Rena World, and I'm worried. You all saw during the house inspections, right? I picked people thinking they would work hard, but once they move into the server it's a different story. There are friends whose words and actions don't match. From a server admin's perspective, it's really disappointing."
"Ah! This week's Purge Day couldn't be helped. It was the end of the year. Everyone had a lot going on. Even I was busy with the year-end awards ceremony so we decided to skip it once."
Yu Seona timed it carefully and, the moment the conversation paused, sent a Candy donation.
Yu Seona has donated 1,000 Candies.
It had a slightly blatant feel of a bribe, but Yu Seona was unbothered.
This kind of Candy donation with a "favor" attached was a common culture on Pangea TV.
If anything, it often became a chance for fun back-and-forth that created good stream content.
"Yu Seona? It really is Yu Seona. Hello, this is Rena-ttang. Thank you for the Candy donation."
So Yu Seona waited with expectation.
How would Rena-ttang handle this situation?
How could she naturally get the V-topia friends into Rena World…
"I'm truly grateful for the donation, but server residency has to be decided fairly. So you said V-topia, right? I won't be able to give those friends any special treatment. That's a shame."
She said it was a shame, but her tone carried none of that feeling.
Moreover, Rena-ttang's attitude made it clear she found this kind of lobbying extremely unpleasant.
As if any attempt to encroach on her authority as server admin was absolutely unforgivable.
The emotion was so blatant that even Yu Seona couldn't miss it.
Did I just… get snubbed?
If a major player like Kim Hak-do or Park Bong-sik had done the same thing, would the reaction have been like this?
Yu Seona realized it.
Rena World's success had lifted Rena-ttang's shoulders sky high.
On top of that, she had recently hosted Part 3 of the year-end awards ceremony and was receiving recognition from Pangea TV itself.
Originally those seats were almost monopolized by Partner streamers.
In other words, the odds were high that Rena-ttang would become a Partner streamer in the near future.
And when you factored in her career and name value as a celebrity who had frequently appeared on TV…
So now someone like me is a joke? That's really what she's thinking.
Grit—!
Yu Seona often wore hanbok and cultivated a refined image, but that did not mean she had a soft personality.
No—people who knew her well would start watching their step around her. She had a fierce and ruthless side.
Surviving eight years in the wild streaming world meant there was a reason for it.
For now, Yu Seona decided to withdraw cleanly from this spot.
Rena-ttang's answer was perfectly by-the-book, and there was no opening to dig into.
Yu Seona has donated 100 Candies.
"Yes. You have a good day too, Yu Seona."
And so Yu Seona left the stream with nothing gained and only her pride scraped raw.
Her forehead already felt hot.
Had there been a situation this infuriating since Star University?
Yu Seona quietly shook her head.
Fine. So you want to play it that way?
V-topia was a latecomer to the virtual scene and needed a proper breakthrough either way.
Looking at the recent flow of the streaming world she had decided that breakthrough was Minecraft—only for the server admin to start throwing territorial weight around.
Yu Seona was not the type to just sit there and take it.
I heard they planned it small-scale from the start so the server situation is already tight.
That was why there were so many stability recommendations—restrictions on indiscriminate image frame use, a maximum of five livestock per person, and so on.
Even so the server was still unstable, and the total number of residents was still under a hundred.
Yu Seona's mind began spinning rapidly.
Who in her network would know Minecraft well?
She thought it through.
She had more than enough money to build a large-scale server and more than enough streaming connections.
So why should she bow her head just to enter Rena World together with the V-topia kids?
"I might as well just make my own."
A minor clash between Yu Seona and Rena-ttang had created a butterfly effect.
From the very first day of the new year 2023, Pangea TV was already spinning into something spectacular.
