Brown City Wrap-Up 1
I watched the park where Regina had been with a hint of disappointment after losing her, then walked toward the Pokémon School with Chae Haru.
Once we arrived at the Pokémon School, I entered the classroom right beside Chae Haru.
Chae Haru asked me what topic I was planning to talk about...
It was information about Pokémon that I already knew.
One student asked about Geodude, and another asked about Pikachu.
When I shared what I knew about those Pokémon, the students all responded with excited “Ooh!” sounds.
Then a girl who seemed to be Chae Haru’s friend stood up and asked how I had met Chae Haru.
But I had only set the background that I had met her—I hadn’t inherited the actual memories—so I gave Chae Haru a look asking her to explain instead. She caught my glance, nodded as if she understood, and began to speak.
Chae Haru started telling the story of how she had met Jiwoo in the past.
Back then, I went to the Pokémon Camp with Gou. But Gou wandered off to wherever he wanted to go and left me all alone.
While I was following him, I got lost in the forest. That’s when I met a girl named Serena, but she was lost too, so the two of us were completely lost in the woods.
While we were walking together, Serena tripped and hurt her leg. I ended up hurting my leg as well, and neither of us could move.
The thought that we might never make it home started to sink in, and we both began crying, tears streaming down our faces.
That was when it happened. A boy appeared in front of us in the forest.
He used his handkerchief to stop the bleeding on Serena’s injured leg, then carried her on his back. He picked me up in a princess carry and carried both of us out of the forest.
I later learned the boy’s name from my mom, who isn’t with us anymore. His name was Jiwoo… At the time everything was so chaotic that I couldn’t even thank him properly… But I’ve remembered the boy named Jiwoo who saved us and then disappeared ever since, and that’s why I came back to Brown City.
When Chae Haru finished her story, all the girls stared at me with sparkling eyes, while the boys went “Ooooh~” and looked at me with jealous glances.
Thanks to my Casanova Charm ability, the girls’ eyes toward me completely changed after hearing Chae Haru’s story. The boys, seeing how the girls were looking at me, started glaring at me with hostility.
But something interesting happened.
Among them was the heroine Lisa from the movie Everyone’s Story.
And out on the playground, I could see girls who looked like they were on the track team wearing athletic bloomers. This place… was turning out to be a pretty nice version of Brown City.
Right then…
A woman with cold-looking gray hair entered the classroom.
It was her… Regina…
I had lost her at the park, but she had come to the school.
“Oh my, our Pokémon School is supposed to leave Pokémon at the Pokémon Garden. Could someone show her the way?”
The woman who appeared to be the Pokémon teacher asked the students if anyone could guide Regina so she could leave the Glaceon she had brought at the Pokémon Garden.
As for the Pokémon teacher herself… it was a shame. If she had been pretty I might have taken her, but her looks didn’t meet my standards, so I left her alone.
“I’m fine going by myself.”
“Are you sure? But it would be troublesome if you got lost…”
Next to Regina stood a Glaceon with a dark expression on its face.
Seeing that look, I naturally turned to check Regina’s expression.
Darkness had settled over her face as well.
That was when Haru spoke up from beside me, saying she would guide them. I said I would go too, and the three of us left the classroom together.
Once we were out of the classroom and walking toward the Pokémon Garden with Haru and Regina…
I stole a quick glance at Regina’s appearance. She really did have quite an attractive face.
Haru tried to get closer by talking about all sorts of things, but Regina only gave cold responses, leaving Haru struggling to keep the conversation going.
When we finally arrived at the Pokémon Garden, the Glaceon froze in a dazed expression as it watched the other Pokémon and my Pikachu acting all friendly with each other.
Regina told her Glaceon she would come pick it up later, then left the garden with me and Haru.
Before heading back to the classroom, I asked Regina,
“Regina, what’s your Glaceon’s name?”
At my question, Regina told me her Glaceon’s name.
“Miche…”
And just like that, things began to flow exactly like the original story.
When Regina, Haru, and I returned to the classroom, the students bombarded her with questions—where she had moved from, how she had caught Glaceon, how they had met. Suddenly Miche came running after us and started freezing the students one by one.
I smashed the ice with my bare hands, and the remaining frozen students were freed when Pikachu and Kirlia returned and broke the rest of the ice, saving everyone.
But Miche seemed to be in bad shape and collapsed.
Regina looked shocked, quickly hugged Miche, apologized, and tried to leave. I stopped her and said,
“Regina. Can I take a look at her condition?”
I checked the physical state of Regina’s Pokémon, Miche.
I didn’t have any real knowledge of Pokémon medicine, but I at least knew roughly what the body temperature of an Ice-type should be.
I could tell that Miche’s body temperature was significantly lower than normal.
Even for an Ice-type Pokémon, her temperature was extremely low, so
I told Regina to feed her a Berry that reduces Ice-type effects.
My diagnosis was hypothermia. When Regina heard it, she looked like something had clicked for her.
In the school infirmary, Miche lay asleep on the bed. Regina couldn’t touch her and looked sad.
Then she apologized.
I spoke to her again.
I asked Chae Haru, the other students, and even the teacher to leave the infirmary so I could hear Regina’s story in private, and ushered everyone out.
This was Regina’s story.
She had been bullied at her previous school for looking like the Ice Queen. Miche had frozen the bullies indiscriminately to protect her.
I told Regina that I didn’t know the Ice Queen, but being told she resembled her didn’t sound like a bad thing. She suddenly glared at me sharply.
“I don’t really know what the Ice Queen looks like or what her personality is like. But so what?”
“So what…?”
“No matter what, you just have to live. That kind of mindset is important. By the way, what exactly is so pretty about her in those books that people say you look like her?”
“Pretty? You think I’m pretty?”
At my words, Regina blushed and asked me.
I told her again,
“You’re beautiful. You’re captivating. When I first saw your cold expression, I thought, ‘So this is the Ice Queen.’ Just look at all the celebrities and actresses who are called Ice Queens or Ice Princesses. They all have cool, beautiful appearances like snow or ice. That’s exactly what people mean when they call a girl like you, Regina, an Ice Queen.”
Regina blushed even harder at my praise and spoke to me.
The Ice Queen she was talking about was apparently based on a character from the Sinnoh region Pokémon School she used to attend—one modeled after Froslass.
“Ah… Froslass? Snow… Queen… Ice Queen? I see.”
“Hahahahahahaha!!!”
“What? Why are you laughing? If you’re going to laugh all of a sudden, at least go ‘heehee’ or something.”
After that…
My conversation with Regina flowed smoothly.
She opened up to me for psychological counseling, and I read her inner thoughts while giving her advice.
That was how Regina started to feel grateful toward me, and her worries were resolved.
Once Miche’s condition improved, Regina explained her feelings to her. Miche smiled brightly and cheered her on.
Then Regina returned to the classroom, apologized to the students, and everyone made up.
After leaving the Pokémon School, Regina invited me to her house.
“Jiwoo. Thank you for today. I’d like to invite you to my house. Let’s go together.”
“Hmm? Sure. Then let’s bring Chae Haru along too.”
“Chae Haru too?”
Regina seemed to hesitate at my suggestion, but since Chae Haru had been kind to her as well, she ended up inviting her too.
Strength: 1
Intelligence: 5
Agility: 2
Origin World: Pokémon
Affection: 80
When I checked Regina’s affection level… it was higher than I expected.
If I pushed just a little more, I could probably take her right away.
I was curious what Regina’s mom looked like.
Would she look similar to Regina?
Before going home, Regina toured Brown City with Haru, visiting all the worthwhile spots.
Thanks to Haru’s help, Regina ended up going on a date with Jiwoo by accident and felt unexpectedly grateful to her.
Even though Haru was there with them the whole time.
On the way home, Regina explained about her family.
Her dad was often away on business trips, so she had only come to Brown City with her mom.
Her mom was a member of the Pokémon Fan Club and often met other Pokémon trainers to enjoy fun games together.
When we arrived at Regina’s house and stepped inside, her mom came out to the entrance to greet us.
“Regina, you’re back? Oh, so you’re Jiwoo. Just as I heard, you’re quite a handsome young man.”
“Oh? What exactly did you hear about me?”
Regina’s mom said the school had called and the Pokémon teacher had told her about Jiwoo.
Regina, looking embarrassed, grabbed both my hand and Chae Haru’s and tried to head upstairs.
“Uwaah…! I’m tired and Mom must be tired too, so let’s go up quickly!”
Her face was red as a tomato from embarrassment as she urged us to head to the second floor right away.
“Mom’s fine.”
“Ah… I’m fine too.”
“Well I’m not fine~!!”
Regina insisted she wasn’t okay and kept trying to hurry us upstairs.

Regina

Note: There is no official illustration of Regina's mom, so I'm uploading a screenshot instead. Just imagine Regina's appearance as a slightly younger version of her mother.
