After sending the traffic light sisters to the exclusive dimension...
I asked Blue if she wanted to travel together or head to the exclusive dimension instead.
Blue thought it over for a moment before saying she wanted to stay by my side even for just a little longer, so I honored her request.
First, I told Misty to go to her sisters' room, gather all the clothes they might need, and pack them into a bag, then sent Yeongja along with her.
While they were gone, the Rocket Trio showed up again...
They used the machine they'd stolen yesterday to attack me and Blue, but Kirlia and Pikachu sent the Rockets flying, and once again we failed to catch Jessie.
The couple who owned the house the Rockets had wrecked were there, and while their appearances were decent, I already had plenty of women to collect in the future, so I let it slide this time.
Misty and Yeongja returned.
Choi Iseul said that with no one left to guard the gym, she needed to appoint a substitute gym leader, and...
When I asked her how long it would take, she answered me with a hesitant look.
"It'll probably... take about two days..."
"Two whole days?"
"Y-yeah..."
Choi Iseul looked at me with an apologetic expression.
Guess we'd have to wait in Cerulean City for two days...

After securing a substitute leader for the Cerulean Gym, Choi Iseul said she had no more lingering attachments to the city and urged us to set off on our adventure right away.
With Blue now joining the party, the four of us—me, Yeongja, Iseul, and Blue—began our journey together.

There were a ton of events on the road from Cerulean City to Saffron City.

A rather pretty woman who'd been playing queen for several years at the school picked a fight with me and challenged me to a Pokémon battle, so I crushed her without much effort.
Her name was Suwoomi. She was the eldest daughter of some wealthy family, but not anymore.
The moment she lost to me, she became my slave.
The points I gained from her were a measly 5000...
In the end, Suwoomi couldn't overcome the limits of being an extra.
And perhaps because she'd lost to me, she stood there completely dazed, her face frozen in shock.
Naturally, I sent her straight to the exclusive dimension, so all the male students at the school forgot she ever existed. No one remembered Suwoomi anymore.

While walking with Yeongja, Blue, and Iseul, we fell into a trap...
A few minutes after getting caught, a woman with teal hair and matching eyes appeared and rescued us.
Then she started apologizing.
"I'm so sorry, everyone... I really caused you a huge inconvenience..."
Her name was Yeondu, and she worked as a civilian healer.
She wore a crimson short-sleeved shirt and red overalls.
Her hair was tied with a large ribbon at the end and styled in a braid underneath.
She offered to treat our injuries and guided us to the Forgotten Village.
"Why did you set traps on a dangerous forest path like that?"
"I'm sorry... I set them up so trainers wouldn't come near our village, but I made the range a bit too wide..."
Yeondu explained why she'd set the traps over such a large area.
She pointed to a spot where wild Pokémon were eating Pokémon food...
She told us she took care of and protected abandoned Pokémon and injured wild ones here in the Forgotten Village.
I'd understood when watching the anime, but actually falling into one of those traps made me angry.
Obviously...
Just like I'd captured Suwoomi, I captured Yeondu too.
Her Pokémon were only an Oddish and a Rattata, so I beat her easily.
Naturally, I sent Yeondu to the exclusive dimension. She was worth 5000 points as well.
As for the Pokémon there, I figured it would be better for them to live at Professor Oak's lab, so I caught them all and sent them over.
In the end, the Bulbasaur battled Pikachu, lost, and was caught by me.

Everyone already knows the episodes with Squirtle and Charmander.
Squirtle's story is the one where all the abandoned Squirtles act like delinquents.
The Rocket Trio tried to use the Squirtle Squad against me, but Kirlia's Psycho Cut sent them flying. I caught the leader Squirtle, and handed the rest of the squad over to Officer Jenny.
I could have captured Jenny too, but since I needed to leave the Squirtles with her, I didn't challenge her to a battle and we simply parted ways.
Charmander's story was similar.
I protected the Charmander that the trash trainer Damian had abandoned, gave it trust, and took it with me when I left.
Pidgey didn't evolve, but Metapod evolved into Butterfree.
As for Blue's Pokémon, her Jigglypuff and Clefairy hadn't evolved yet, so I gave them Moon Stones and they became Wigglytuff and Clefable.
Yeongja only had a Ralts and a Clefairy. She didn't battle at all, so they didn't evolve. Misty's Staryu and Starmie stayed the same, but her Horsea evolved into Seadra.
How many days did that take? Something like that?
We finally arrived in Saffron City.
Upon reaching Saffron, we headed straight for the Saffron Gym.
The gym leader, Matsu, seemed to have quite the weakness for the opposite sex...

When he saw me, Blue, and Yeongja had come to challenge the gym, he welcomed the female challengers and tried to hug them, but they dodged and shot him looks of pure disgust.
Just like in the original, Matsu's only Pokémon was a single Raichu. Naturally, I knew Pikachu's strengths and Raichu's weaknesses perfectly, so I battled him with Pikachu.
"The rule here is 1 vs 1."
"What Pokémon will you use?"
When Matsu asked what Pokémon I'd send out, I answered exactly like in the original—Pikachu.
Matsu looked at me and Pikachu and started laughing. "As expected, a kid is still a kid."
Raichu also looked at Pikachu and sneered, its expression clearly saying there was no way it could lose.
Pikachu got angry at Raichu's attitude and turned to me with a furious look...
I understood exactly how Pikachu felt, so I nodded and looked back at it.
I was going to send out Kirlia, but since I knew how Pikachu felt, I yielded the battle to it.
And so, I began the gym match against Matsu using Pikachu.
"Go! Raichu!"
"Go! Pikachu!"
Inside the Saffron Gym, Pikachu and Raichu began their fight.
At first, Raichu used its longer tail to attack Pikachu and knocked it to the ground.
Seeing Pikachu fall, Matsu ordered Raichu.
"Raichu! Body Slam!"
"Raichu!!!"
"Pikachu! Dodge!"
At my command, Pikachu sprang up and avoided Raichu's Body Slam.
Both Raichu and Matsu were shocked and shouted, "What?!"
"Go, Pikachu! Move quickly and dodge Raichu's attacks!"
"Raichu! Body Slam!!"
Raichu kept trying to Body Slam Pikachu on Matsu's orders, but Pikachu continued to evade every strike.
"Ah... no...! Raichu!"
Matsu had made a huge mistake.
He had caught his Raichu as a Pikachu and immediately used a Thunder Stone to evolve it without letting it battle other Pokémon first. That meant it had never learned the speed moves it should have picked up as a Pikachu—and that was its downfall.
Unable to accept this fact, Matsu gave the order for one final attack.
"Raichu! Stop Pikachu's movement! Thunderbolt!"
"Ra...ichu!!!!!!"
Flash!!!!! Boom!!!!!
Raichu's Thunderbolt exploded throughout the entire Saffron Gym.
As expected of a Raichu's electric attack. It was on a completely different level from Pikachu's Thunderbolt or even its own Thunder.
When the black smoke finally began to clear, Matsu was standing there full of arrogance...
"Heh... It's over now... Wait... No!!!"
Pikachu had not fallen.
Pikachu had planted its tail into the ground like a lightning rod, channeling power through it while floating slightly in the air.
Thanks to that, most of Raichu's Thunderbolt was redirected into the ground through its tail, so it took almost no damage.
"Grghhh...! Raichu! Thunderbolt again!"
"Raichu...!? "
Raichu tried to fire another Thunderbolt, but the electricity fizzled out and it made a confused face.
"Damn it...! Was the charge not enough?!"
Matsu had already battled several trainers before facing me and Pikachu and hadn't properly healed his Pokémon.
In other words, he'd gotten cocky, thinking something like "A kid's Pikachu? No problem! Hahaha!"
"Pikachu! End it in one hit!"
"Raichu! Finish it with brute force!"
Pikachu charged at Raichu, wrapped electricity around its tail, and slammed it hard into Raichu's head. The damage was enough to knock Raichu out cold.
"I can't believe it! Raichu lost to a Pikachu!!!!"

Matsu said that losing after a proper fight felt refreshing. He apologized for looking down on us earlier and offered a handshake.
I accepted his apology and shook his hand, letting the matter slide.
Matsu looked at Blue and Yeongja and said the next matches would have to wait until the gym was repaired and Raichu was healed, so we should come back tomorrow. With that, we left the Saffron Gym.
The next afternoon, the gym had been repaired and reopened. When we returned, countless trainers were already walking out defeated.
Before battling Yeongja and Blue, Matsu made sure Raichu was fully healed. But he still lost to Yeongja's Clefable and Blue's Wigglytuff, and ended up handing them both Orange Badges as well.
