Avatar Exchange Meeting - (1)
A district that screamed old money and upper-class luxury at first glance. A beautiful woman lounged on a plush sofa, a sly grin spreading across her face as she logged into the planetary network.
"Hehehe..."
"Hah. When the heck was this taken?"
Constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, conveys that they are pleased with their Avatar's rising fame.
My first Avatar had been zipping around the planet nonstop, keeping herself busy. Monsters whose extermination had been put on hold due to budget issues. Shady back alleys and criminal organizations that gave off suspicious vibes. Public service announcements to maintain order. The Ratan Planet government wanted value for all the credits and vested interests they'd poured into her, and Yuna had delivered perfectly.
She'd been touring everywhere to make her presence known across the planet early in the contract, but once some time passed, things would loosen up.
"Your constellation fame has skyrocketed here on our planet too, my lord."
Yuna clicked on a post at the top of the Ratan Planet network. I followed along and read it with her.
Constellation's stature + Avatar's talent + hard work = this level of Avatar strength.
Is a fresh graduate from Kairon Planet really supposed to be this strong? I don't know the military secrets, but at minimum, isn't she breaking the sound barrier? I caught a glimpse of her flying through the sky and holy crap, she was fast. Thought it was a spaceship. And when she swings her fist wrapped in light, monsters or whatever just explode. Total bullshit cheat skill lol;;
Of course, it's public broadcast, so there's editing, but she's definitely strong, right?
While reading the speculation about me, my attention snagged on the word "descent."
Descent (降臨). When an immortal god comes down to the human world.
Digging through my mental archives, I realized I could descend to the so-called material world if conditions were met. Not with my main body, which was practically impossible, but by creating and controlling an avatar.
Constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, inquires about Constellations who descend to the material world.
"Are you interested in descending too, my lord?"
Even if it was just an avatar or like controlling a game character, I wanted to move limbs in that world, interact with living beings. Better than drifting endlessly in space, mulling over the silence—I wanted to dive in and enjoy it firsthand.
Thank goodness. I'm still human at heart.
"Hmm. Some Constellations do descend into temporary bodies with help from their Avatars and then hang out in our material world. Like the Artist of the Dark Clouds in the Centellis B-2 Star System, or the Benevolent Arbiter Constellation..."
Digging deeper into my knowledge, descent—similar to controlling an avatar—required massive sacrifices and proper summoning rituals. Plus, the body's durability to hold the power, so it came with huge hurdles.
"It's tough right now, but someday I'll definitely help you descend, my lord!"
Constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, expresses gratitude for their Avatar's heartfelt resolve.
"If you come down here, I'll show you around our planet. There's so much I want you to see, my lord."
It had been a good while since Yuna returned to Ratan Planet. People who spotted the woman Avatar soaring through the skies now greeted her casually.
"Keep it up, Avatar!!"
She waved back at the smiling faces who recognized her, all casual-like now. She was living the full celebrity life.
"Phew. That's today's work done!"
She landed in front of her house, about to head inside, when a harsh alarm blared from her pocket.
Beep-beep—
Someone was calling. She pulled out a small terminal from her pocket, checked it, and frowned in confusion.
"...Avatar Exchange Meeting?"
She scrolled through intently. From the gist, it seemed like a gathering for Avatars. Made sense—my memories had stuff like class reunions or study groups. No reason the privileged Avatar class wouldn't band together.
Constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, expresses curiosity.
"Oh, my lord. A classmate from Kairon Planet sent an invite. It's a meetup for folks from the same graduation batch."
She was a bit curious about other Avatars' abilities and thoughts. I'd seen plenty on Kairon, but Cosmic Power's instability had me hyper-focused on Yuna back then. Worried my power might make her body go pop.
She handled it like a pro now, but there were times she'd shot straight up into the sky...
"I'll take some leave and go. Venue's in the nearby star system, so hop on a ship... Oh, and this exchange has Avatar sparring matches! Winner gets materials for Constellation descents plus credits... Gah!"
Her eyes widened in shock, freezing up. Super Galactic Empire Federation's base currency—credits, electronic money—plus descent materials as prizes. But the amount was bigger than expected.
"Giving this many credits and materials to the one-on-one winner... This could fund my path to glory—no, make a huge dent in your temporary body, my lord!"
Yeah. Money's great. I heard that "path to glory" slip. Earning tons already, but greed's eternal.
Sparring though—could get hurt. If other Avatars are no pushovers, risky.
Constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, warns that getting dollar signs in one's eyes is unwise.
"Hehe. Worried about me again? It's fine, my lord. Among my classmates, I'm the strongest thanks to you, right?"
Hope so. But the universe is vast for a reason.
I shifted my consciousness back to this dimension. To learn more about descent—blending into mortal society.
I twitched my right index finger.
What I was about to try: Crafting a temporary body to hold my consciousness here.
Whoooosh—
In the silent void of space, only I heard the fabric of reality wail. Empty space, no lifeforms, so careful construction should work.
A bit of plasma, magnetic fields, electromagnetic radiation... I floated molecular clouds nearby, condensing, condensing again. Gravity lethal to life spiked, temperatures soared. Nuclear fusion ignited.
No clue how, but knowledge bubbled up. I willed it mentally.
Be created.
Flash—
Failure. Needed star-sized compression at minimum, but I made something bigger than a star system. And it couldn't hold my consciousness anyway.
How to fix? Seems descent here isn't easy. Only body big enough for my vast mind is my galaxy-dwarfing true form.
Naiserria.
You have been summoned, my great liege.
No choice but to consult Naiserria. Felt like using her, but oh well. She was the only one in this universe aware of me.
Galaxies like dust, yet only one galactic goddess chats me up? Maybe others are far off or hiding in fear.
Could seek if I wanted, but no need to harass.
Have you ever descended before mortals as an avatar?
Yes. Of course.
I'm trying to make an avatar, but it's not working. Galaxy-sized was too big to contain me.
Ah... Seeking matter to contain your great power?
I affirmed. Response came after a pause.
I beg forgiveness, but my knowledge falls short. I've descended into temporary bodies forged from countless compressed stars over eons, but none could hold your greatness.
Hmm...
I've possessed kin who serve me, but even that was for a deity ruling hundreds of planets—and only briefly.
So, full descent needs at least Naiserria-level possession?
However, in that dimension—not here—there might be a way.
A method exists there?
Yes. Dimensions differ. Perhaps a being your equal crafted such laws there.
Best bet: Summoning from that side. If unique matter or laws exist there, they could craft a temporary body for part of me.
As I mentioned before, I've prepared mortal kin called Avatars there. Call upon my kin anytime you need.
