Living Large, Totally Clueless
As soon as Kim Yujin returned to school like the oblivious fool who had no idea he was throwing his weight around, the place erupted in chaos. Teachers rushed over, and even some heroes showed up out of nowhere to check him out. Word was, the ogre's appearance had been a total accident. Way too dangerous for students, right?
Tch, they really need to tighten up on safety protocols.
At least no one got seriously hurt, so that was a relief. What actually worried him more was the assignment. All the chaos meant he hadn't cleared out that goblin pack. He'd been hoping the big monster kill would count for something, but from the vibe, the ogre was completely off-script.
It almost didn't make the official score—until
"So the ogre doesn't count for points?"
Yujin's offhand comment had them scrambling to include it right away. What a truly democratic school—taking every little word from a student to heart.
Talk about the power of speaking up!
Plus, the ogre scored high. Assignment or not, it put him at number one, no question. The homeroom teacher kindly explained he'd easily snag an A+.
It had been scary as hell, but no complaints here.
Heh heh, good grades too—bet the others will be thrilled for me.
Injured Kim Cheolsu got dragged off for a full checkup, with Lee Younghee trailing after. Both looked pretty grave. Were the wounds worse than they seemed? They'd been talking fine just moments ago.
Next time I see them, gotta ask if they're okay.
Yujin fielded a few questions from the investigators too. He didn't know jack, so answers were slim. They looked seriously pissed.
"......You really have no guesses at all?"
"Nope."
"Hoo, don't think you can dodge the law forever."
Whoa! Was this no random accident—tied to some crime? Scary stuff. Better steer clear from now on. That frustrated look screamed long-time perp chase.
Sheesh! Why's a criminal hanging around a school anyway? No conscience at all.
As the rote questioning dragged on, a suited guy slipped in and whispered something in the investigator's ear. She shot Yujin a sharp glance, then stormed out with heavy steps. Super displeased.
Aw, looks like the perp slipped away.
Hang in there, lady! The world doesn't bend to your will.
With the grilling over, Yujin headed out. It was getting late—they told him to go straight home. What a fulfilling day. Saved a friend from danger, aced the scores. Maybe he had some popular guy potential after all? Time to check his status window and swap out that 'Social Disorder' for a shiny new skill.
"Welcome back, young master."
"Ugh... yeah."
Park Secretary, waiting patiently, opened the door with a polite bow. It felt awkward as hell, but Yujin lacked the guts to tell him to cut it out. This was probably part of the guy's job, after all.
"I've heard about the incident. I'll handle things appropriately."
"Sounds good."
"Anything else you desire? Since you stepped in personally, if there's a specific plan..."
"Nah, just do your thing."
......
.........
He had no clue what that meant, so vague agreement it was. Act like you get it, or you'd look dumb. The amazing part? Vague answers actually got shit done. Park Secretary was the world's most competent aide.
"We've arrived."
The car pulled up soon enough. Yujin hopped out before Park could open the door. Looking up, there it was—his home.
Whoa, no matter how many times, this place is massive.
The current Yujin's house was a sprawling estate with huge gardens. Tall walls stretched on, enclosing multiple buildings inside. Bigger than several normal houses combined. How the hell did this exist smack in central Seoul? Suspiciously loaded family, for sure.
I wanted to be rich, but not this rich.
Tensing up anew, Yujin pushed open the gate. If he had to pick the day's most nerve-wracking moment, this was it. The second his foot hit the absurdly vast garden, a massive chorus boomed.
"““Welcome home, young master!”””
"Mm."
The servants bowed in perfect sync, like they'd been waiting. Suited men lined the right, suited women the left. Dozens greeting at once made the air crackle.
Ughhh! No matter how often, this is too much pressure.
Dozens solely for him, bowing deep like this? Overwhelming for any outcast.
Side note: Park Secretary was on the handsome side, apparently. Fierce face aside, decent looks. The other guys? Total bandit vibes—scary enough to drop to his knees begging for mercy in one second on the street.
Anyway, gotta hustle past.
Yujin stared straight ahead and speed-walked. The Heukcheon crew watched, as usual, misreading it completely.
Such a dignified, cool demeanor today.
That's the charisma of Heukcheon's heir.
Ignoring the likes of us—that's the attitude of our sole leader.
Thoroughly deluded underlings. To them, every Yujin move screamed mafia prodigy.
Somehow, Yujin made it to his room amid the tension.
"Phew, gonna die."
The one safe haven for an outcast. Alone at last, the knots finally loosened. The plush bed enveloped him. Desk snacks as always: peanuts and dried squid. No idea who stocked them—zero sense.
I prefer sweet cookies. And who gives a student this junk? Not booze, at least.
Of course, he lacked the courage to complain. So he'd gripe but eat it all—that was Yujin's charm and flaw. (Note: Booze was in the next room over, but he had no clue. Multiple private rooms? Beyond his imagination.)
Munching peanuts, he geared up to review the day's lessons—
Ding~
His phone buzzed. Yujin jolted like a cat spotting a cuke. A notification?! No spam in days!
C-Calm down. This is a trap!
Political text? Insurance scam? Outcasts like him couldn't hang up first. Once lost track of timing, chatted hours till the rep bailed from exhaustion. And now, unlike his past life, he had cash to burn. One slip, and bam—millions gone.
Not that anyone dared scam Heukcheon's heir, but Yujin was clueless.
No ring means message? Who the hell's texting me?
Cautiously checking sender: 'Younghee'.
Younghee?!
A friend texting first! A girl friend! Green light?
Nah, no way.
Younghee: academy's prettiest, top student. They were just normal pals. No chance she liked him.
But friend texts... aren't exactly ordinary, right?
Yeah, totally normal. Plus, after today's mess, sweet, kind Younghee checking in made sense.
A-Anyway, reply fast!
Outcast rule: Answer texts instantly or bust.
First, what'd she want?
Yujin groaned inwardly. Private call? Hell no.
Too tough. No clue what to say.
Pro outcasts avoid chat setups altogether.
A wave of profound resonance hit. Texting a friend! Thought it only happened in group project BS.
Steadying shaky hands, he hammered back.
Meet tomorrow?! Tomorrow was the weekend. Not school—outside? Dressed up, outing, just the two?!
Holy crap, hanging with a friend on the weekend.
Thought that was fantasy stuff. Sure, everyone else did it, but to Yujin, friend dates ranked between unicorns and pink elephants.
Life threw him this gem. Nailed the isekai move...
Ah! Reply!
Lost in awe, he'd blanked.
Movies? Total popular kid event.
When'd I last go? Gotta Google theater etiquette stat.
Yujin bolted upright. Weekend locked in his room? Nah—sudden plans. To the PC for movie manners research.
Hmm, shoes off, no popcorn scraps or fine, mid-movie event. Strict theaters in this world.
Smart move asking online. Would've been mortified otherwise. Yujin jotted notes furiously, prepping for tomorrow's date.
