Conquering the Barony #9
Before fulfilling the pixies' requests, I decided to pay a brief visit to the pixie village to let them know what the plan was moving forward.
"Whoa!"
"Wow!"
Seeing the pixie village for the first time in a while, my own pixies marveled at the sights, looking around in awe. The building designs were slightly different, but the general vibe was the same. Where on earth did they learn this architectural style?
Serineu had mentioned it was a technique passed down from long ago... It was so similar that everyone felt a sense of nostalgia. Well, that wasn't particularly important.
I spent time walking through the village with the pixies, chatting as we went.
"Is it true?! You can take down Satyrs that easily?!"
"Of course! We're incredibly strong! We can win without a single one of us getting hurt!"
"Amazing!"
"Wooooow!"
Having met new friends, everyone was in high spirits.
I had expected the pixies to be wary of strangers, but seeing them treat these newcomers as friends from afar, it seemed their sense of tribal kinship was truly deep-rooted.
If that was the case, turning them into soldiers would be a simple task.
"Hey, Pixie Leader. What's your name?"
"I'm Lemuri!"
"Right, Lemuri. If you follow us, you'll become strong, too. Serineu, show our new friends what you can do. Show them your flight formation and magical prowess."
"You got it!"
Serineu gave the command with practiced ease, and the pixies immediately formed a flight formation and soared into the air with vigor.
Vwoom!
A powerful sound resonated.
"Whoa!"
"Wooooow!"
Exclamations erupted instantly. Of course, that wasn't all. The pixies in the air began performing acrobatic maneuvers.
Swish!
"My goodness! I've never seen pixies that fast!"
"They're faster than me!"
Then came the aerial interception drill. The pixies fired off their Dark Cutters, creating a spectacular display.
"They're so good at using magic, too!"
"Do you all fight together like that?"
"It's so amazing!"
The excited wild pixies held hands, pressing their large, voluptuous breasts together, their eyes sparkling with wonder. Is this a racial trait of the pixies? These cute gestures were quite similar to my own pixies.
With such commonalities visible, it was only natural for affection to bloom. Ravishing these innocent, busty pixies would be a great pleasure indeed.
The pixies, ignorant of the ways of the flesh, would soon be addicted to pleasure.
"What do you think, Lemuri? Cool, right? They were just like you at first. But after becoming my friends, they became this strong. Very fast and very strong."
"It's truly amazing...! If we could become like that, we wouldn't have to worry about anything!"
"That's true. Anyway, Lemuri? Tell me what you know about the Satyrs. Once I find that out, we're going to go exterminate them right away."
"Right away?!"
"We're prepared. Prepared to teach those nasty Satyrs a lesson. By the way, I killed all the Satyrs that used to torment Serineu's pixies back in the day, too."
"Amaaaaazing!"
Lemuri cupped her cheeks with both hands, expressing her astonishment.
They really are cute.
"Okay! I'll tell you everything I know!"
"Hehehe, good."
"Oh, but can we fight alongside you against the Satyrs?! I'm grateful for the revenge, but we want to feel the thrill of the hunt, too!"
Good heavens, the "thrill of the hunt."
They really are a war-mongering race.
"That's a bit dangerous, so... how about you watch from the rear for now? There will be plenty of chances to fight later. For now, let's just observe how we fight. Is that okay?"
"Umm... well. Okay. Fine!"
Lemuri answered coolly, as expected.
Soon, Serineu returned.
"How was it! Our skill!"
"It was amazing! We want to be like you!"
"You'll be like that in no time!"
They hit it off quickly.
"Alright, Serineu. Let's gather the intel on the Satyrs and then go wipe them out."
"Got it! Every Satyr we see must be killed!"
And so, we obtained the information on the Satyrs from these wild pixies.
There wasn't even a need for tactics.
"Meheeeeh!"
"Meeeeh!"
It was a truly one-sided slaughter. As soon as we led with our infantry, the Satyrs collapsed in confusion. There was no way these savage, wild monsters could defeat an elite infantry unit that was not only well-trained but also equipped with human-made gear.
"It's lamb party night. Kill them all."
"Keruuuuk!"
This time, I didn't even have to give the order.
I had told Buril to handle it himself, and he was perfect.
In truth, he was just mimicking the orders I had given in the past, but this is how you train them. Buril will be a commander in the future. After a company commander comes a battalion commander. He needs to lead troops directly.
Anyway.
"A-amazing...! So easily!"
"The Satyrs can't do anything!"
"Look over there! They're shooting down the ones trying to run away!"
"Whoa!"
The pixies couldn't close their mouths after witnessing the majesty of our army. It was sheer, extreme astonishment. The pixies had likely never seen such a one-sided battle before.
"Amazing, right? This is our power."
"It's incredible! I'll definitely be your friend! We're true friends now!"
"The Satyrs are all dead! It's so satisfying!"
"But we still don't see the ones who were captured...!"
Since they said so much time had already passed, the captured ones had likely vanished without a trace. My condolences to those pixies.
"You chose well. With us, you don't need to fear the likes of Satyrs. If you want, I'll kill every single one I see."
"Thank you!"
Satyrs aren't the type of creatures worth making into my subordinates. In that case, extermination is the only option. I can't let them use the jungle's resources.
But this is only until I advance into the human world. Once I settle in the Barony, I won't have time to worry about the jungle. Of course, once things stabilize, I'll develop both the jungle and the Barony, but in the beginning, I'll have no choice but to pay less attention to the former.
Even so.
If I fully seize the Barony and expand my influence, then the existence of this jungle will become a very powerful weapon and advantage. The resources, the paths, and the land! The troops! Everything will become mine!
A thrill.
I can feel the thrill.
I will possess both the Barony and the jungle.
Anyway, we easily exterminated the Satyrs and decided to hold a banquet with Satyr meat. I went to help with the moving preparations.
"It's a bit sad to leave the village, but... if we can go to a bigger place, we'll do it!"
"Yeah, yeah! Me too!"
"Me too!"
"I want to get stronger, too!"
The pixies packed their belongings. They took their valuables and threw away everything else they didn't need.
"But these are really amazing tools. The ones we made aren't this sturdy."
"The clothes are similar, but the level of the tools is so different!"
"Right?"
There is a massive technological gap between the tools the pixies made through cottage industry and the tools we looted from the humans. Regardless, I intend to absorb the techniques of the human blacksmiths in the Barony. Even if things go wrong later, as long as I remember the techniques, I'll be able to use them anywhere.
"Let's go!"
And so, we moved the pixies.
"Goodbye! Our dear home!"
"We're going to a better place!"
"To get stronger!"
"Yahoo!"
The innocent pixies were simply happy. The opportunity to get stronger. A safe life. And the joy of the hunt. For the pixies, along with those desires, the desire for battle also exists.
I will satisfy those desires.
"Good!"
With this, the total number of pixies reached 40.
In terms of squadrons, that makes about three. Should I reorganize the structure into three regular squadrons and one command squadron including Serineu?
Three squadrons of 12, and one command squadron of 4, including Serineu.
If the pixies in the command squadron flew to each squadron to relay orders organically, it would be much easier to operate them.
Until now, because of the lack of numbers, I had relied on the individual abilities of the squadron leaders to carry out battles, but now I should utilize the power of a proper command structure and system.
That is what it means to utilize numbers.
Anyway, we advanced into the jungle to complete our objectives, kidnapping every monster we saw and forcing them to volunteer for enlistment. My Demon Domination magic was now at a level where I could use it freely.
"Keruuuuk!"
"Krrrk!"
"Gyu-sa-sa-sat!"
In the meantime, I trained the new recruits. I left the pixies to Serineu. Seeing how she was treating them like new friends, they had already completed their adaptation. They were all chattering and squealing about what they would play when they got back, and that sight brought peace to my heart.
"This should be enough for now."
A force of a size I could manage.
After hitting exactly the target number, we returned to the dungeon. From now on, I just needed to train the new recruits, stockpile supplies, and wait for news from Carti.
"There's something to do before that. All new recruits, assemble! Buril! Gather only the platoon leaders and the new recruits!"
"Keruk! Understood!"
"After I give a speech to the new recruits, we'll start your company commander promotion ceremony!"
"Kerurururung?! We're starting the promotion ceremony right away?!"
Buril, startled, jumped up and shouted.
"Look at the number of goblin troops."
Including the new recruits, the number of goblins had exceeded 80. A large number of recruits had come in this time. This was a level that could be called a company.
"Keruk-keruk! My Lord! I'm so happy!"
"Then hurry up and assemble them, you fool."
"Keruk! Understood!"
Buril immediately went to spread the word, and soon the platoon leaders and new recruits came swarming out.
Basically, all the veteran soldiers had already undergone Dark Evolution. Perhaps that's why the new recruits were following them so well. Monsters fear beings with strong demonic mana.
"My Lord! Assembly complete!"
"Good. The headcount is finished, too, right?"
"Keruk! These are exactly the new recruits who volunteered for enlistment during this expedition!"
"Right."
Then let's begin the speech.
"Attention! At ease!"
Thump, thump, thump!
It was clumsy, but the new recruits moved according to my command.
"Rest! At ease!"
Good.
"Soldiers! Welcome to the invincible Quls Demon King Army! As you've already seen, this dungeon is where you'll be staying for the time being!"
For them, this dungeon was a place to stay "for the time being." Because now, we had to advance into the Barony.
Their military life would be longer and more familiar in the human world than in the jungle.
