The Strategy of the Succubus
The moment the dungeon's executive staff gathered, I started the meeting.
The agenda was the invasion by the joint human and angel forces. According to Carti’s intelligence, the Baron wanted to claim the glory for himself, and the angels stationed in the kingdom’s capital and the Goddess Church’s main base couldn't spare a large force either.
Therefore, we wouldn't be facing an overwhelming army. It was a scale we could definitely handle. Still, since it was known that a monster legion existed here, they would surely come prepared accordingly.
When I brought that up:
"Whether we increase our troop numbers or start digging traps from now on, there is much to be done."
Vanessa nodded and said.
"That seems to be the best course of action, but it is difficult to increase our forces at the moment. Realistically, we cannot expand our army until the farmland is properly operational."
It was tight even now.
Feeding an army every single day was truly a massive undertaking.
"Still, we should definitely start preparing hunting traps in the direction of the enemy. Necree, I think we need to make quite a few. Is that possible?"
"Then does that mean I don't have to do guerrilla training starting today?"
"Of course. Instead, you'll be deployed to make and install traps."
"Just leave it to me! As long as it's not guerrilla training...!"
She’s really happy about it.
Well, I suppose she’d be happy if she didn't have to do guerrilla training anymore. Goblins are just unique.
"Keruk. Do the Dark Elves hate guerrilla training? Weak, keruk."
"I, I don't need to hear that from a goblin..."
"Goblins are stronger than Dark Elves, keruk."
Buril said, full of confidence. As expected, an ace is an ace. But why do I keep thinking of a Geodude every time I see Buril lately?
"Hey, Buril. Let's not compare ourselves with allies. Let's save the comparisons for the enemies. Allies should acknowledge each other."
"Keruk! Understood!"
Just as I was about to continue the meeting.
"Wait. Let me offer an opinion."
For some reason, Liliel raised her hand.
"Oh. Liliel? Why are you expressing an opinion for once?"
"If angels are coming, it could be dangerous. I will tell you what I know."
"Ho-oh."
"Liliel is?"
"What's gotten into her?"
Since this was a very rare occurrence, all eyes turned to Liliel. But it was a mix of worry and expectation. Everyone was watching her closely, not knowing what kind of nonsense she might spout.
As we were doing that.
"Angels can..."
"Yes. Angels can..."
Liliel opened her mouth heavily.
"Fly in the sky."
"No! Really! That's a fact everyone knows!"
"No! Don't mock me! The important thing is that it means angels can perform aerial reconnaissance just like pixies!"
Ah.
"That is certainly true."
My head nodded on its own. Indeed. If the angels attacked, they would conduct aerial reconnaissance.
"Are angels also good at aerial reconnaissance?"
"They are. There is no need to let their wings go to waste."
Humans barely have that concept yet. This concept of aerial reconnaissance is a very groundbreaking and unconventional idea.
"If they search, the angels will naturally perform aerial reconnaissance. If you aren't careful about that, the flanking maneuvers you boast about will all end in failure."
"That is certainly true. A good point."
It was an excellent point.
I pride myself on using the jungle terrain to hide my soldiers and launch surprise attacks. But if aerial reconnaissance is possible, I could be discovered.
Above all, the reason I could do that was because my pixies, who can fly, were doing proper reconnaissance.
But if there are angels? It becomes difficult to operate the pixies.
"Then we need to seize air superiority."
To think I’d actually be thinking about air superiority after coming here. Well, the pixies were a cheat code until now. Originally, the foundation of modern warfare is air superiority.
"Air superiority?"
The executives expressed confusion at the term.
"Serineu."
"Hm? Why?"
"Let's do some new training starting today. It's training to seize air superiority; you'll fly in formation and practice shooting down enemy angels."
"Don't speak in riddles! Are you making fun of me!"
"Hehehe, making fun of you? Just think of it like that. You can think of it as training to hit a target flying extremely fast with a Wind Cutter."
"What, that's nothing special? Ah! Because the angels are flying around, it's training to catch them?!"
"That's exactly it! As expected! Serineu is the smartest!"
"Well, I am a bit smart. This is basic. Got it. Just teach me properly and I'll follow along!"
"Great!"
I can just delegate the pixie training to Serineu.
We shared our opinions and talked about what we should do now. This was a real meeting. It was a very helpful time, as we even came up with ideas for new strategies.
"Ah, come to think of it, Sharan. Didn't you say you could rapidly absorb moisture from plants?"
"Shaa. That's right."
At Vanessa's words, Sharan nodded.
"Vanessa, did you come up with an idea?"
"I heard about the farmland, how you made the weeds wither in an instant..."
"Yes. That is correct."
"Then, if we lure the enemies into a specific area, absorb the moisture from the plants in that region to make them wither... and at the same time, if the imps throw fire, it would be a pretty decent fire attack—"
"Oooooh! No! Vanessa! Why are your ideas so good?!"
Hearing it, it was a truly amazing strategy!
Surprise-drain the water from the plants and then deploy the imp grenadiers? They would burn in an instant, and the humans would scream in agony!
"Wow! That was really good just now!"
"Hu, huhu. Is that so? I'm glad you liked it. Well, there are naturally many factors to consider, but if we practice a few times, we might be able to use it in actual combat..."
"Shaa! Demon King! Let's go try it!"
"Grrrrk! Good idea!"
Sharan and the Imp-monkey immediately showed their enthusiasm!
"Great! Let's do it! Ah, if you have any other ideas, tell me! Everyone!"
Meetings should be fun.
After finishing the first meeting like that, we started the second. This agenda was about what to do after defeating the enemies. In other words, the plan to directly attack the Baron's territory.
"Anyway, once we defeat all the guys coming to invade."
"You intend to strike the Baron, don't you?"
The Saintess took over.
"That is correct. As the Saintess said, to advance into the human world, we have no choice but to devour the Baron's territory. In other words, we will be taking the Baron's seat."
When I said that.
"Hmm... hey. But will that be easy?"
"That's right! Even so, striking a Baron would be a bit difficult!"
Reika and Irene asked.
As I was about to answer, the Saintess stood up.
"Do you not have me?"
"Pardon?"
"If I only go to that place, swaying the territory's residents is nothing. It is merely a matter of locking the Baron away appropriately and taking his place."
"That is correct. If the Saintess steps forward, inciting the humans is a very simple matter."
"After doing so, I will expose the true nature of the angels and declare the overthrow of the angels to gather forces. Since I was actually a person being chased, I will have enough appeal."
The Saintess spoke about the plan in that way.
She was certainly a woman who had held a high position. Her words had appeal and persuasiveness, and listening to her, I even felt like it would actually happen.
"Whatever the case, to wage war in the human world, one has no choice but to win the hearts of the people. Not only the humans belonging to the alliance but also the humans in the territory. You must gather everyone's hearts to be able to win."
"That is exactly it."
We continued the meeting in that manner.
After the meeting ended.
"Hehehe."
Reika, feeling better, hummed a tune. The pressure and the unknown unpleasantness that had been weighing on her heart had disappeared.
Right.
The appearance he had shown until now. It wasn't disguised, nor was it wrong.
He calls himself the Demon King and tries to thoroughly crush the human army, but at least to his own family, he is very warm and kind.
Perhaps he is giving them even greater affection than a family would. Reika was an orphan and had never felt the love of a family. So she didn't know for sure, but seeing how he treated his subordinates, she felt a vague sense that they were truly like family.
It had been inwardly uncomfortable that an evil Demon King would show such a human side, but after hearing his thoughts in this meeting, most of that feeling had been resolved.
Even if he invades the Baron's territory, he doesn't slaughter the humans there. He even went so far as to say that to wage war, one must win the hearts of the people and the hearts of the humans belonging to the alliance.
He wasn't a guy who just wanted to kill humans blindly.
Thinking based on that... yes. A Demon King is not much different from any other human lord or monarch.
"Though he did rape me."
She could forgive that much.
Whatever the case, he is a person who possesses a heart. Naturally, he has good sides. She still doesn't like that he lusts after women... but as long as he grows stronger through that, she couldn't say anything, could she?
In the first place, most of the women here ended up like this after trying to attack him first. If you think about it, it was they who were in the wrong. Not that she was entirely responsible, but just like the relationship between humans, they were both at fault.
"Ah."
As she was thinking about him like that, she felt her breasts tingling. Both heart and body simultaneously.
"Haa."
It was a sign that breast milk was about to burst out. Lately, he hadn't been sucking it well, so she had to take care of it herself... but just in time, he, the rascal, had gone off to suckle on Lea's breasts as soon as the meeting ended, saying he would train her with nothing but her nipples.
"...Should I ask him to suckle on mine too?"
