"Thank you...... Thank you......."
"GodBuddhaAllahGodsIreallythankyou......."
The Cadets rescued late from the Dungeon started trembling and muttering to themselves as if something inside them was broken.
The Cadets standing guard outside began hurriedly loading those Cadets one by one into the carriage.
Emergency transport. The carriage carrying the Cadets sped toward the hospital.
'Poor guys.'
Mental wounds couldn't be healed even with Divine Power. Even bringing a high priest wouldn't erase the deep Trauma rooted in their hearts.
By now, a profound fear of the Dungeon had likely taken hold in their minds, and a Knight who couldn't climb the Dungeon couldn't Level up.
And naturally, a Knight who couldn't Level up was useless.
'Well, whatever...... If their minds crumble from just that much, they were fucked from the start anyway.'
Dojin thought that as he gazed at a few Cadets who remained unscathed despite taking the same injuries.
Despite being trapped in the Dungeon and enduring hellish times just like the other Cadets, they were unyielding Heroes who didn't break.
Those were the ones qualified to become Knights.
"Master."
"What?"
"Not going in?"
"......Don't you have any empathy?"
"What empathy?"
You'd think seeing Cadets trembling on the cold ground would stir some pity, but Emilia looked at Dojin all chill, like what the hell are you on about?
Not that she, the one who'd wrecked them like that, had any room to talk, but Dojin wondered if Emilia's emotions were drier than a desert.
'Whatever— long as she swings that sword good.'
Dojin did as she said, passing the Cadets and stepping into the Dungeon.
"Wow— no, how the hell is this......."
Dojin scooped up Emilia and instant-teleported straight to the 30th Floor, and the moment the Elevator doors slid open, Emilia—arriving at the 30th Floor for the first time—freaked at the scene and started gawking all around the Dungeon.
"I did it."
"......Master did?"
"Yeah."
He'd already spilled to the Lord about being the Dungeon Ruler anyway, and with talent like her, sharing info wouldn't hurt, so Dojin laid it out flat.
Emilia nodded like knew it upon hearing him.
"Then that time we met?"
"Probably?"
"Hmm— While your disciple was grinding floor by grueling floor, Master was just teleporting in for the sweet loot, huh."
Wasn't wrong, so Dojin clamped his mouth shut and just chuckled. Spotting that, Emilia pouted and yanked out her sword.
Now that she knew this was the 30th Floor, no slacking off. It was her personal record high, after all.
Monsters here were way stronger than the her from a few days back. She'd hit Level 3, sure, but she was still basically the weakest of the bunch.
"What kinda monsters pop up here?"
"Dunno. Different every time."
Dungeon monsters weren't fixed. Super fair like that—y'know, spawning the ones most efficient at mulching adventurers out hunting.
Last time Dojin rolled up, the Dungeon coughed up an arthropod monster with sword-proof armor shell.
─Kirick....
"Haven't respawned yet, huh."
Sasasasasak-.
Way off in the distance, a Giant Spider with glowing red eyes started skittering across the ceiling toward them.
Emilia spotted it and—unlike your average girlie—casually swung her sword.
Peureok-!
Her ten-plus-kilo Greatsword, loaded with her brute strength and skill, turned into a straight-up skull pulverizer.
She smashed the Giant Spider's noggin in a blink, quietly wiped off the blood spraying everywhere, and scanned for the next foe.
"Damn, impressive."
"What?"
"Don't most folks scream their heads off at giant bugs like that?"
Even Seoyun recoiled in horror from 'em. But Emilia grinned like bugs were old pals and spilled the reason.
"Bugs are familiar."
"Yeah?"
"Countryside's crawling with way bigger ones!"
With that, Emilia charged the incoming monster. Dungeon rule: solo runs sucked 'cause shit vanished from sight past a few meters.......
'Emilia's level? She's good.'
Dojin figured and trailed her at a leisurely pace. Didn't forget to mercy-kill any she half-assed or snag the Magic Stones.
'Yup.'
Tough admit as her Master, but straight up—she was way more tuned for monster-slaying than him.
Greatsword big enough not to get outscaled by monster hulks.
Monstrous arm power swinging it like a toy.
No fancy technique needed—raw haymakers just caved in skulls.
'Specialties vary, after all.'
Even Dojin couldn't ace everything.
Mass mobbing? Seoyun owned him.
Bare-knuckle brawls? Eunha.
Head games? Aram.
Spotlight hogging? Ga-hee.
His edge? Swinging roughly a meter of blade. And most targets were...... humans.
'At her tier...... she'd help plenty.'
Yeah. Party her up.
Dojin locked it in.
It was winter.
Hunting done, they bailed the Dungeon in a flash via Dojin's powers again, and Emilia stared blankly at the sky, looking all deflated.
For her, descending had always sucked as much as climbing—this felt stupidly hollow.
"Then, Guild first......."
Instant they cleared the Dungeon exit, Emilia swung her Greatsword at Dojin. One hand clutching a Magic Stone-stuffed bag, Dojin snapped out his left-hand sword and deflected hers.
Kagagagak!
Sounded like teeth shattering if it weren't Dwarf-forged Magic Sword; Dojin shot her a death glare.
"......The fuck?"
"M-Master said strike anytime! Quit glaring!"
"Oh— yeah, did."
Emilia shivered, locking eyes with him. That split-second beast glare had her quaking.
'Heart damn near stopped—thought I was dead.'
Clued in that killing intent could straight-up kill, Emilia vowed no more messing with Dojin and sheathed up.
Could swing again—nah. Even her "perfect" sneak poke at his "gap" got dodged, and now he was hyper-alert to her swings.
Whatever she tried, current setup? No hit landing. Her blade favored smash over speed anyway.
"Guild bound?"
"Yeah. Oh, right. Distribution later, all at once."
"Huh? Master handles."
What if he bolts with the stones......? Emilia cocked her head at him like it was no biggie.
Yeah, not some day-labor Level 1'er—today's haul vanishing wouldn't sting that bad for her.
Guild hit, Dojin tapped his handler Pion for the exchange and told her head home first today.
Then, out on the street with Emilia, Dojin eyed her getup top to bottom.
"What— why stare like that......."
"Nah— that weapon. Where'd ya score it?"
"This? Hometown blacksmith uncle made it."
She shoved the sword in his face—yep, abused to hell, zero maintenance, chips galore.
'Flash this trash, she'll boot us again.......'
Party decision made, she needed real gear. Dojin figured and dragged her to Lastina's Workshop.
Emilia trailed him hands-behind-back, scampering along. Workshop District entry: she gawked wide-eyed at shops and display racks like a kid.
"Wow... City's got a spot like this?"
"Never once?"
"Nope."
"......Other gear then?"
"What gear?"
"Armor, y'know."
"Don't wear armor—Guild staff fetches other stuff."
Hit Dojin then: she legit had zero armor. Light leather only, like him.
Wild she hadn't croaked yet—gear that pathetic.
'......Pot, kettle.'
His threads? Hard sell as "fierce-fight Adventurer wear."
Some rocked full plate wrapping every inch—Dojin? Light kit max.
'No helping it.'
Full plate or leather: upper floors? Die leaving corpse or poof—defense trash either way.
No point in heavy, clunky, pricey plate.
Magic plate blocking upper baddies? Rumors. Dojin? Never seen.
Lowly Adventurer trash couldn't snag one.
Lastina's Workshop front, Dojin turned to Emilia, briefing danger zones.
"Alright, Emilia. Grumpy Dwarf inside...... Sword questions? Say this."
"How?"
"'I really, really love and cherish this sword, but couldn't maintain it—short on cash.'"
Even Lastina'd fold on money woes. Dojin schemed this hack and cracked the Workshop door.
Ujijik—locked, so slight nudge crack—latch exploded.
"......Master. We paying for that?"
"Yup. Later. In we go."
Pay cash later, Dojin rolled inside.
But Lastina AWOL? Shop empty.
"No one."
"—Lastina?"
Calls bounced silent, Dojin peeked in. Maybe locked for no-disturb work sesh?
If so, bail polite-like—but no Lastina.
'Where to?'
Backtracking, Emilia blank-faced, ceiling-gazing.
"Doing?"
"Master, ceiling's shaking."
"......Ceiling shaking?"
Dojin followed suit, flexing Superhuman eyes and ears.
Kiiik- Kiiik-.
Boards quivering, creaking. Magic Power to ears boosted: above, wet drip-drip.
─Ahhng...... Hng, Haaang.......
Then Dojin yanked back Magic Power, face stone, eyed Emilia.
Her specs outclassed his raw—she heard it fine.
Emilia stared dead serious at Dojin.
"Master, moaning from up top."
"Y-Yeah."
"Someone hurt? We check......."
"N-No! All good!"
And Dojin clocked it fresh: total pure virgin, zero sex ed.
