Today's Events Summary.TXT
1. Thanks to the gallery master sprinkling potions again today, more and more climbers are carrying them. But they're burning through them pretty fast too. Seems like high-rank climbers are just using them the second things look dicey, 'cause they believe they can keep getting more?
2. Tower break almost happened;; Got a quest failure alert, but it switched to a quest to take down an estimated S-rank monster;;
3. It was the tower in Gangwon Province, but luckily some unidentified climber stopped it. There was an embargo, but some gallery user spilled everything lololol
Legendary stuff already, but what came after is even crazier.
4. Two hours after the situation calmed down, two total noob idiots went into the tower and nearly died, triggering an emergency tab spam. Legendary incident with emergency tabs used twice in one day.
5. Gallery got serious again while everyone was waiting, but results came in 20 minutes.
6. That masked climber saved the two noobs and vanished.
7. Mystery masked climber currently being tracked by the association << We're here rn
From what we've pieced together, they were openly strolling the streets before entering the tower. Apparently packed two chickens—people there are all going to eat chicken now lol. Rumor from a gallery leak says one of the noobs asked their gen, and they said 1st-gen. Unconfirmed tho.
Special summary for gallery users who slept through the morning bait. Yeah.
Hey folks, it's Padak. Main guy's busy, so I'm posting the notice instead. The tower that masked climber entered is fully closed off. The raid party in progress backed out in exchange for potions. Association investigators are sweeping the tower but haven't spotted the masked climber yet. They're investigating even the possibility they slipped out. If any gallery users spot the masked climber, report to the association ASAP. Critical tip-offs from climbers will get potions. Even if not potions, there's a reward bounty too, so report anything.
That's the official notice.
…
Investigator Park Ji-young propped her chin on her hand, glaring at the monitor.
A fairly clear shot of the mystery climber.
A woman in a white mask and armor.
She was someone who could one-shot the evil dragon with raw power.
That was the problem.
If her power had been weaker, they could've just written her off as an unregistered climber. But someone at that level couldn't be dismissed so easily.
How?
They needed to investigate how she'd grown under the association's nose—or how she'd even entered the country.
Clues were scarce.
She'd appeared at a tower on the verge of breaking.
Liked chicken, then entered the next tower and vanished.
Emergency tabs triggered twice, and she showed up both times.
"Connection to the emergency tabs... gotta consider that too."
Park Ji-young filled the blank screen with text.
After compiling everything known and speculated, sending official memos everywhere, she rubbed her aching eyes.
Fatigue from the all-day investigation hit hard.
She poured coffee, sat back down, stared at the ceiling, and muttered.
"...Really 1st-gen?"
Back when the association didn't even exist.
No one knew who entered the towers for sure—rosters relied solely on 1st-gen survivors' memories.
If an unidentified S-rank popped up, highest chance was 1st-gen.
She'd said it herself: 1st-gen.
And the only gen with an incomplete roster.
Park Ji-young opened the gallery.
If you need something, hit this.
Park Ji-young accepted the trade immediately.
Park Ji-young sighed at her slightly sulky grandpa.
She'd sweet-talk him later and cut straight to it.
Her heart sank.
Park Ji-young chugged her coffee.
Some knowledge was better left unknown.
This was that kind.
Park Ji-young closed the trade window.
Exiting the gallery brought a wave of bewilderment.
And the real possibility that person was 1st-gen.
"Who the hell are you..."
She muttered at the air.
…
"Achoo."
I sneezed.
Good thing I wasn't wearing the mask, or it'd be soaked.
I wiped my nose and looked around.
There was a way to find the gap space Rohan mentioned connected to this tower.
He said every tower linked to it, so there had to be a passage here too.
"What was it... 'A place no NPC would ever go.'"
A bit vague, but for an NPC like me, it was crystal clear.
"Only orcs here, so go where orcs absolutely wouldn't."
Where orcs would never go.
I searched based on that clue.
"Ah. This must be it."
A small cave in the woods.
Too small for orcs, but I could fit.
I checked around.
No sign of that hot couple from before.
"Alright then..."
I yanked up nearby grass.
Materials confirmed. Proceed with synthesis?
◈ Camouflage net made to cover a small entrance. Perfect enough that you won't notice unless you look close. Cannot be appraised below Appraisal Lv.3.
I made the camouflage net just like Rohan said.
Installed it over the small cave entrance, then crawled in on all fours.
After squeezing through the tight space, I arrived where Rohan was.
"Back already?"
Rohan looked down at me.
"Yeah. Made it back safe."
I brushed dirt off my clothes.
What a hectic day.
Felt like four days had passed.
"Good. Then you're fine."
Rohan stepped back without a word.
"I'll return all the gear. Won't need it again—too hard pretending to be a climber, and the association's after me now."
The mask kept me hidden this time, but one more outing and I'd be busted.
What happens if they find out an NPC was posing as a climber?
NPCs got no rights, after all.
Ugh. Hate even thinking about it.
I shuddered.
"Nah, keep the gear."
"Huh? Why?"
"Just in case."
"...But I can't use this stuff inside the tower where I live anyway, right?"
System thinks I'm still in that last tower.
And when I leave later through it, I'd go from NPC to free irregular NPC.
Provided the system doesn't notice I'm in another tower first.
"Just in case. If—hypothetically—I disappear, what'll you do?"
"...Hm."
Rohan disappears?
I'd be dead that day.
"Well... but still."
"Irregulars can vanish anytime. Safer with you than me."
"Fair enough."
I pulled back my outstretched hand.
"That pouch is unreadable even by the system, so keep it safe."
"Got it."
I scratched my head.
Preparing for the worst, huh.
Hope it never comes, but better safe than sorry.
"Stash your gear in there and head back."
"Yeah."
I stripped off the gear, stuffed it in the pouch as instructed.
"See ya later."
"Sure."
Rohan saw me off.
I'd received so much help from him one way or another.
Gotta repay him someday.
With that resolve, I hurried home.
Back home, sorted my dolls, checked the time—still before midnight.
"Made it before midnight for once."
10 PM sharp.
Two whole hours for gallery time.
"Heh heh..."
Gallery it is.
I climbed into bed, prepped for gallery.
"...Yawwwn."
Sudden fatigue crashed in.
No resisting—eyes shut, and I was out.
Next day.
NPCs on tasks cannot access the Tower Gallery. Finish your work first, then play? Or... trying to slack?
Try completing a hidden quest today~!
"Ah."
The task had changed.
