The First Night with Wang Yi (1)

Wang Yi had probably heard about the rebellion in Hansu. Yishuse was a fortress located near the Qiang village of Ohae County, in an excellent position to monitor the northward movements of the Northern Di tribes. However, it was so isolated that if it came under attack, it would be nearly impossible to expect swift reinforcements from Shuofang Commandery. It was an extremely dangerous posting.
“Father, Uncle! Isn’t this too dangerous? Just coming all the way from Hadong to Shuofang should have been enough. I think the two of you have already done more than your share.”
Even though he didn’t feel any particular affection for his father, Seo Jun found it difficult to simply ignore the situation. In his estimation, this mission was that perilous.
“As soldiers who receive the kingdom’s pay, how can we refuse an order? The Grand Administrator has even decided to dispatch his eldest son, Master Yu Sang, as the Commandant. In this situation, it would be difficult for us to withdraw.”
“I feel sorry toward you, Jun. I’ve heard you’ve been taking good care of your aunt lately. While your uncle is away, please look after her well.”
Both father and uncle were the same. Publicly, they were admirable men who willingly risked their lives for the country. Splendid warriors.
Yet from a family perspective, they were utterly irresponsible, which left Seo Jun feeling irritated.
“While your uncle and I are gone, you will be the head of the household, Jun. Protect our home well.”
“Yes, I understand.”
The stifling conversation ended, and the family shared an awkward meal. His father, who had to depart early the next morning, retired to his room soon after, while his uncle took his aunt and returned home.
Hwi followed their father into the room where he would rest, and Wan headed off to the room that had once been Seo Jun’s but now belonged to him.
Squeeze.
Seo Jun approached Seol Ryeon from behind as she washed the dishes and gently wrapped his arms around her.
“Don’t worry too much. Nothing serious will happen.”
“Thank you, Jun.”
“Mother, you should go to bed early tonight as well. I’ll head to my room now.”
The next morning, Seo Jeong and Seo Pyeong departed with the family’s farewell and made their way to the Grand Administrator’s office. There, Jang Jin—the Grand Administrator’s son, newly appointed as Commandant—waited for them with a tense expression.
After exchanging a few words with Seo Jeong and Seo Pyeong upon their arrival, Jang Jin mounted his horse and prepared to set out.
About ten minutes later, Seo Jun watched from a distance as roughly five hundred soldiers of the Shuofang army, led by Jang Jin, Seo Jeong, and Seo Pyeong, marched out through the southern gate.
I hope nothing major happens.
It wasn’t exactly heartfelt, but the thought of them being family stirred a strange sense of worry in Seo Jun.
Over the past few days, Wang Yi had traveled around Shuofang and acquired two hundred more horses. Combined with the two hundred they had seized from the Qiang raiders, they now had four hundred—well above their original target. It gave her some breathing room.
Now we just leave tomorrow.
Though she felt relieved, a lingering sense of regret remained. It was because of Seo Jun.
Wang Yi’s heart was in turmoil as she headed toward Seo Jun’s home with her guard captain, having accepted his invitation for dinner. She had never imagined her heart would be so shaken by a man she had only met a handful of times.
“Is anyone home?”
Upon arriving at Seo Jun’s residence, Wang Yi and her guard captain called out.
“Please come in.”
Seol Ryeon came out to greet them.
Is that his mother? She’s quite beautiful.
“Welcome, Joyeon. Captain, please come in as well.”
When Seo Jun greeted Wang Yi warmly and led her inside, Seol Ryeon’s expression stiffened slightly.
Oh my! Am I feeling jealous?
Seol Ryeon was both surprised and flustered by the unfamiliar emotion rising within her—an emotion she had never experienced before.
“Mother’s cooking is truly delicious.”
Wang Yi felt awkward under the occasional hostile glances from Seol Ryeon, but she did her best to soften the atmosphere.
“So you’re leaving tomorrow?”
“We’ve met our target quantity, so we should head back quickly and finalize the contracts.”
Seo Jun felt the same reluctance at having to part ways with Wang Yi, who had somehow grown on him.
“White Dragon, care to share a drink with me?”
As they were seeing her off after the meal, Wang Yi gathered her courage, suppressing the tremor in her heart, and spoke up.
“Joyeon, you know how to drink? I was just thinking it was a shame to part with you so soon. Sounds good to me.”
Seeing that Seo Jun seemed to feel the same way, Wang Yi’s mood brightened and a smile bloomed on her face. She pulled out a jar of liquor she had prepared just in case and showed it to him with a grin.
“Captain, please return to the guest quarters first. I’ll have a few drinks with the White Dragon, chat for a while, and then head back.”
“Even though we’re inside the county seat, is it safe to be out so late?”
“The White Dragon will escort me. What could possibly go wrong?”
At Wang Yi’s final remark, the guard captain had no choice but to nod.
“Mother, I’m thinking of going to my quarters with Joyeon to share a drink and talk for a bit.”
“What? Just the two of you?”
Seol Ryeon knew she shouldn’t feel this way, yet she couldn’t figure out how to deal with the jealousy that kept surging up.
Whether he knew of her feelings or not, Seo Jun continued to pay attention only to Wang Yi, which left Seol Ryeon feeling hurt.
Seo Jun had roughly understood the situation from the way Seol Ryeon had been fidgeting and acting flustered earlier. He led her to a spot where Wang Yi couldn’t see them and embraced her warmly.
“Mother, please understand just for tonight. She’s the first friend I’ve made, and it feels a shame to part so soon.”
Chu!
After giving the pouting Seol Ryeon a quick kiss on the lips, her expression finally brightened.
Once the two arrived at Seo Jun’s quarters, they set down the liquor Wang Yi had brought along with the snacks Seol Ryeon had prepared.
Glug glug.
Clear liquor filled each other’s cups.
Clink!
Several cups disappeared as they quietly gazed at one another. In truth, Wang Yi had arranged the drinking session simply to have a private conversation with Seo Jun; she had barely touched alcohol before.
“This liquor is more bitter than I expected. Why do people even drink this? Hic!”
After a few cups, a slight flush rose to Wang Yi’s cheeks and a hiccup escaped her.
“Hehe. It’s the bitter taste that makes it worth drinking. You could call it the flavor of life.”
“Hehe! What’s that supposed to mean? You sound like an old man, White Dragon.”
Wang Yi found Seo Jun’s answer—which made him sound as if he had lived several lifetimes—both absurd and amusing.
“White Dragon, do you have a fiancée?”
“No. What about you, Joyeon?”
“There have been marriage talks with nearby clans, but nothing has been decided yet.”
“White Dragon, what do you think of a woman like me?”
Bolstered by the alcohol, Wang Yi summoned her courage and asked directly. In an era where a woman’s worth was measured by her family’s wealth, where obedience and self-sacrifice were considered the highest virtues, such boldness was rare. It showed just how progressive Wang Yi truly was.
“You, Joyeon, are beautiful on the outside, but what makes you even more attractive is how you strive to carve your own path and achieve your goals.”
Hearing Seo Jun say that the very traits for which she had been ostracized by others were what made her valuable and charming caused Wang Yi’s eyes to grow misty.
“Then propose to me.”
“Your family would never allow it. Joyeon, I’m still just a warrior from the borderlands with nothing to my name.”
Wang Yi found herself liking Seo Jun more and more—the way he accepted her exactly as she was and looked at her with genuine favor. His handsome face, his exceptional martial prowess, and even the sorrow hidden within him; every aspect of him appealed to her.
“Then, once you succeed, will you come for me? I’ll wait for you without marrying anyone else.”
“Do you like me that much?”
“I don’t even know why I feel this way, but I like you so much, White Dragon.”
Wang Yi rose from her seat and straddled Seo Jun’s thigh as he sat there.
In this atmosphere, even Seo Jun could no longer hold back.
He gently cupped the back of her neck with one hand, kissed her lips, and slipped his tongue inside.
Startled by her first kiss, Wang Yi’s mouth parted slightly before she accepted his tongue.
“Mmm…”
Slurp. Slurp.
As Seo Jun’s tongue sucked and licked at hers, Wang Yi’s initially awkward tongue gradually began to respond.
While kissing her, Seo Jun’s hand slipped beneath her clothes and gently kneaded her breasts, which were far more bountiful than they appeared from the outside.
They weren’t as mature as Seol Ryeon’s, but the firm, springy sensation that bounced his fingers back was incredibly pleasant.
Rustle. Rustle.
One by one, their clothes came off. Even as they held each other tightly, they gradually became naked.
Though she had reached the age where a woman performed the coming-of-age ceremony and was recognized as an adult, from Seo Jun’s perspective, her body still retained a fresh, youthful vitality.
She’s surprisingly voluptuous underneath those clothes.
Her rather large breasts, toned figure, and the pink nipples that had never been touched by a man.
Seo Jun took one nipple into his mouth and began to suck.
“Hngh!”
The first wave of pleasure from her breasts drew a moan from Wang Yi’s lips.
While attacking her chest with his mouth, Seo Jun’s hand moved to her most intimate place. She was straddling his thigh with her legs spread, and he gently rubbed her entrance with his middle finger, circling slowly until she was thoroughly wet.
Since she was still a virgin, he needed to caress her until her folds softened sufficiently.
“Haaa!”
He could feel the strength leaving Wang Yi’s body. His middle finger pushed deeper inside her, moving slowly back and forth. A generous amount of her nectar began to flow.
